One thing this video does not show is all the challenges to fight it. The house is off of a 1,000' winding driveway with a wooden bridge. It also was a very windy day, in an area with no hydrants. They also had to go defensive relatively fast. Between all of that, how the house was built, there was little hope in saving it.
@@trvman1 He was burning brush and embers lit his roof on fire. He tried putting it out with the garden hose but the wind was too much. The entire roof was on fire when the FD arrived.
Under the described conditions, the fire dept. did an excellent job. Their hands were tied from the beginning. Homeowners should take these factors into consideration when buying a home in a location like this. The tanker relay looked very well coordinated.
This house didn't have a chance. With no hydrants, the members have on water tenders to feed the engines. By the time the word goes out for mutual aid--and then the wait--it's over. I feel for the members who did their best to fight this fire under extremely challenging circumstances. Great video, as always.
That was a beautiful home you see the steps going up to the area there you see the wrap-around deck that was a beautiful home that's my dream home I am so sorry for the homeowners loss cuz that's a beautiful home and for anybody who wants to say anything about insurance you tried dealing with insurance after a fire you got better luck doing your own dental work and not seriously injuring yourself
A slate or terracota tile roof and that wouldn't have happened. Also WTF was he doing a controlled burn for when its gusting north of 30. His insurers will have a field day with that one
Sent you glad you got a 6 million dollar home and no water supply to fight a house fire. But hey look at me I’m rich will just build another one ..... just frickin stupid to live where there are no hydrants geeze the frickin water tanker need to be on sene right as engines arrive on scene better off getting out safely and then call Insurance company let it burn not to mention a house that big and only two engines with 500 gallon tanks don’t even help knock it down ITS OK THEY WANTED TO LEAVE ILLINOIS ANYWAY TO BAD IT WASNT JB PRICKSTER HOUSE
@@JB91710 it’s called not working harder than need be when it won’t make a difference in the outcome. Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to put out a structure fire when 90% of the structure is already gone.
