Welcome and just enjoy the "mind cleaning" properties of a move abroad, wherever do it to! Doing it for family's sake is a perfect reason. You've look for a good place for that. Family is paramount around here. So slowing down life, "living" your life, etc., you'll get to have it all, no doubt!
You two look so nice and calm, you don't seem to me extremely north Americans. You'll find your place and friends there. And wherever you go, you're positive people, lovely people. Good luck, family.
I'm confused! Did you move to Spain 7 years ago or recently? I'm from Valencia and I've lived all my life in Benimaclet, in the main street though: Dr Vicente Zaragozá, perfect location, with the metro literally on the door. I now live in Patraix cause my parents got a new place, but will be moving back to Benimaclet to the old flat with my bf in July
And we really love benimaclet. So glad this is where we ended up. But we actually have a lot of friends from the local music/arts scene who live in the patriax, arancapins area. Love that barrio too!
That district is considered "posh", the vast majority votes right wing parties and the prices are higher. There are few restaurants, but you are near Benimaclet and as you said, 10 min from the old river. Perhaps the problem are schools and "instituto", a bit far away... Welcome and have fun.
Fairly posh indeed. But one of the few neighborhood with flats that had enough bedrooms and bathrooms for the 9 of us Not that we wanted to recreate the large American home lifestyle. But we did need room for several bunk beds. Haha. Yes, we love benimaclet. The kids schools are there and with that connection and futbol we found ourselves pretty well integrated. Not much really goes on in Viveros barrio as you say. It’s even pretty tame during Fallas;)
Es inspirador, ver como no os da miedo el cambio de pais y mas con tantos niños. En mi caso con dos, me lo pensaria mucho, y ver como lo dejaos todo y os vais a 8000km de distancia...es de ser muy valientes
