The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol voted Thursday to issue a subpoena for documents and testimony from former President Donald Trump. In its ninth - and possibly final - hearing, the panel focused on former President Donald Trump's mindset after the 2020 election. The committee has sought in its public hearings to connect Trump and his allies' efforts to overturn the 2020 election with the mobilization of the mob at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Due process should result in accuracy, and accuracy can be final. Confinement seems appropriate. We have 'facilities' available for humane treatment. If the subjects want a speedy trial ? they can have one - but they should not be released from some form of custody pending assessment based on recent history. Their own recognizance is not working. It also has to be 'in-time'. 👍

The Secret Service was at least in part sympathetic to Trump's goals. I hate to assert that, but across the agency it is reasonable to expect some MAGA souls got caught up in the idea of a 'cause' or sense of historic events. We also see hints of their passive behavior on January 6th. It is a hard spot to be in. I don't envy them. But they are not a private army for the president to direct.

As a boyscout I visited DC for the first time at age 14 when we were heading to the Jamboree in Valley Forge. We toured the entire city including the Capitol building inside and out. I can remember being highly impressed by the beauty and the grandeur, and the signficance of all it represented and it stayed with me until today. I know this is super off topic but this kinda just hit me really hard… how wild is it that literally anything and everything in politics is captured on camera and digitally saved on the internet forever..If this was 1990 I would be watching this with my dad on TV, while recording it onto a VHS so my mom could watch it when she got home from work. It’s the same with news papers and opinion pieces… back then after the news paper ran the story it was archived. If you looking for info or details about a crime or popular court case, only real option would be to hit up the local library and dig thru gazillions of news paper slides… to think nowadays it’s as simple as saying a few key words into ur phone and without delay - you have pages and pages of information at our disposal

to be 100% accurate; data archiving technology is not advancing as fast as content creation, so everything is not saved forever once on the internet. Consumer technology the data will only last 5-years on average! If the data's value is not very high, even professional data recording will still have to chose some information to delete. There is already a plethora of examples of local government video data being lost, including even the mainstream media sources of video that have gone missing today from just a couple decades back! Federal government, imagine 500-years into the future; it's extremely likely that there will be pieces missing. Even books go missing, and books so far have far better data retention than any digital format out today! Solar flares and similar activities could create mass data loss in an instant, while paper copies will be left only to be lost to fire on the actual planet or hurricane/etc(which also could destroy electronic data). What literally 'JUST' hit you, was an idea, but an idea without a whole lot of consideration behind it :/ P.S. This perspective I share, is from someone who has LITERALLY studied data archiving technologies.

Yeah the old VCRs were sometimes complicated to program, or you forgot to hit "record" Libraries have only so much physical space.
