@@superm1000it’d be funny if this was an actual terrifying presence response lmaooo “What really? You’re trying to threaten me? I’ve got 25 explosive rounds shoved up my ass right now just for you.”
But... that's wrong ending. The real NCR and House Alliance will happen, if you manage to persuade Oliver with Barter Skills by promising him a full protection of all NCR major suppliers coming to New Vegas in exchange for recognizing New Vegas as an independent state. In that case, Oliver'll accept the offer, but taunt you a bit for your obsequiousness, and House will taunt you for how much it will cost him to protect NCR's caravans, however, he, as a capitalist, wouldn't mind it
@@chrisbatista4481 Yeah, it kinda looks so. But in that case, the NCR has little but none causes to initiate a war, since House let them trade within his borders almost without any restrictions
i could say half a dozen things you wouldn't get that doesn't require you to be educated to know. moot point. doubt you even understand how anyone induvial thinks, you almost sound like a wannabe shrink. no one here is your alcoholic father, we are not impressed.
This is what I love about FNV writing. House is dangerous, incredibly so, but he's also right in a lot of ways. He's got the best technology, the most knowledge, and the best ability to check the other powers in play. However that much power in any one person's hand make me itch. I don't think House is a fascist, despite what other say, but he absolutely *could* be one if he wanted. His hand is tempered by disinterest more than morality. He isn't interested in totalitarian control. So long as nothing interrupts his little bubble then he doesn't care what the rest of the world does. I was planning on having my current playthrough be NCR, but maybe I could go House with a good relation with the NCR. No single ending is the best, every one of them has something good, but it comes at a cost.
he himself says he prefers the term autocrat. He sees himself as the sole ruler. The final authority. Sure he'll delegate mundane stuff but he will have the final say. in essence, he wants to run Vegas like he'd run a business. Really, yeah, his only saving grace there is he seems disinterested in abusing that power. Like that'd be the boring way to do things. His morality is definitely questionable
@@fireblast133nah House stopped nukes from hitting the Mojave, and only goal is to make Vegas richer and stronger. He also has a whole knowledge library no one can touch.
@@guilhermehank4938not sure how it’s bad writing, NCR was already in a pretty awkward position last time we saw them, having their influence dwindle because it’s too widespread, not focused, people were already doubting the future of it. It’s not hard to believe a single nuke at the heart of NCRs politics and finances would cripple it, without the caps flowing out of Shady Sands, without the trade, without the leaders who likely would’ve never left the capital, the leaders the common people turned to, what’s the point in settlements flying the NCR flag? What’s the point in defending from her enemies if the armies aren’t getting paid to make a living? Those are the things NCR really offer, stability, defence and trade, there is no stability without leaders that know how to rule hearts and minds, there is no defence without NCRs armies, and there are no caps without stable growth and secure trading routes, without caps? No armies, no trading routes, no new settlements, NCR dies a slow death.
I like how these responses you chose are things that House would say. It really gives the impression that you're his protege and his right-hand man at this point.
Honestly, the best ending. NCR isnt stretched too thin. Oliver and Kimball are finally shown the bastards they are. Chief Hanlon instead of retiring, becomes a senator and fights Kimball administration's war hawk polices. Humanity has the best chance to uplift themselves with Mr. House with future colonization of other worlds. I still want the legion around to be the boogeyman for Mr. House oand NCR and convinced Legate Laniys the Legion needs to reevaluate to he stronger. My guilty pleasure tho is to mod the Brotherhood where theyre not destroyed by Mr. House.
I thought you could only do this with a mod, same as the nice Brotherhood ending for House. I just finished a House run with science 100 and this wasn’t an option for me. Should be noted that I did the NCR questline up until Colonel Moore told me to kill the Khans then bounced
@@robacdc1977 that's weird. the mod you're talking about probably adds more content regarding the whole house + NCR thing, but mines basically a few neat dialogue options. I don't think I had any mods installed that tampered with the speech checks
@@superm1000 The mod is actually for a NCR ending without killing Mr. House. There's two versions actually: there's Mr. House Surrender, which will allow Mr. House to surrender (no shit) to the NCR after you've destroyed his army of securitrons at the bunker; then there's Mr. House-NCR truce, which will allow both to sign a treaty and Mr. House will assist at the battle of Hoover Dam. Both options allows you to finish the game without killing Mr. House, which is great in a way, although I argue that's a bit out of character for the NCR (the latter option I mean, the first you would pretty much guarantee that Mr. House couldn't ever face the NCR military, however the truce doesn't seen that realistically to me since the NCR does want to annex New Vegas and they don't trust House at all, I'm still playing New Vegas and I've never played the version with truce so I can't say definitely, but there's a quite hard barter check to convince Mr. House on a truce so maybe there's a bit of build up to It).
I like to imagine that Oliver was originally imagined as this incredible general but upon realizing the player needed someone to confront at the end of the game who wasn’t available to kill throughout it, they reworked him into this coward who cares more about his own legacy than any soldiers or even people he’s supposed to protect.
That's not how he's portrayed consistently through the game leading up to his appearance. He's described as a career general mocked by his own subordinates, with everyone across the wastes from previously mentioned to subordinates to even Caesar and Legate Lanius themselves regarding him as far inferior to Chief Hanlon. General Oliver being a wimp isn't something they did out of obligation, but because it was characteristic of the NCR as we see them depicted in-game.
@@moogobIin yep, the ncr has godawful leadership, the only "incredible" thing they really have is the veteran rangers, and i'm pretty sure that's not even originally their thing, they got that from assimilating the already existing desert rangers.
Why would House care or choose to be petty about Primm's loyalty to the NCR? He never had any use or need for their loyalty at any point in the story. It's not like they had any reason to be loyal to House or Vegas either: they are far away and also direct competitors with the casinos after all. Plus: its the wasteland, they'll literally take protection from anyone they can get including a slow and kind of dumb Protectron. Not exactly Vegas-level security or sophistication lol. My only guess is that he felt threatened that the NCR could have turned the town into their own little Vegas and take away his business. It's a bit of a shorter trek for those coming from the west, so easier to visit, supply and defend for the NCR. Already has a few casinos sitting/ready to go. Sure, it doesn't have the crazy lights and towering skyscrapers like Vegas, but convenience is attractive too. Take away the 2000 cap credit check Vegas has, and I bet a well-defended Primm could really pull some crowds.
that was a scene where house verbally allies with the NCR face to face before the battle of hoover dam, releasing a pamphlet and everything. these are just additional dialogue choices many people missed on a house run, including myself
Nice! I knew this ending existed, but no one seems to have made a video of it anywhere! Would you perchance be able to do the 100 Barter version as well? That one is the best imo.
Id rather just stick with Mr House, i even wear the RobCo jumpsuit so all in the wasteland knows where my loyalty is, also something about the way yes man explains how he is going to be more assertive sounds fishy i dont trust it
This ain’t inherently a true alliance given that you didn’t saved Kimball who was to take total blame for NCR’s loss of the dam according to House’s plan
Will never understand why so many people unironically like the ncr or think theyre the "good guys", never done an ncr playthrough never plan to, but interesting outcome nonetheless.
He says there's a chance kimball commits sucide. 3.5% chance by hia calculations. Oliver, on the other hand, has a 36.5% chance, according to him. Defeat breaks them both.
yes/no, it's a dialogue option which changes the ending regarding mr house's relations with the NCR lorewise. havent seen it anywhere on youtube so I decided to upload it
