I think he is the way he is mostly because of his parents. but I will never blame Alicent for not being a good mother. she loves him, but she hates him. people don't usually think about the complexity of a forced marriage that results in years and years of marital r@pe, and now, her son turns out to be exactly like his father. it's a cycle, cause due to alicent's suffering, she couldn't be there for her children, but that cycle was about to end with Aegon. in contrast of how Viserys treated him, he didn't want his children to suffer the same fate, so he tried to be a better parent than both Alicent and Viserys

I don’t see why people don’t want Aemond to sit the throne. He is well studied in history, strategy, philosophy. He has proven to be more capable than his halfwit brother.

Pre-Episode Falling from an extreme height is extremely likely to result in death, but survivals have occurred. There is a documented accounting of a gunner in a bomber in WWII, the bomber was in flames, and the fuselage was breached, between the altitude and the fire he passed out from lack of oxygen, without a parachute, and fell to the ground several thousand feet below. He was found alive and captured. I believe his name was Alan Magee. His fall was over 20,000 feet. So the fall distance doesn't guarantee 100% certain death. I would wager the dragons were not flying that high. (Although a dragon exploding next to or near you wouldn't help your survival odds. I am aware of the hints of Alan being a bastard of Corlys, I can certainly believe it. Rhaenys commenting how comely his mother must have been, and her conversation with Corlys seem to support that. But this wouldn't necessarily mean his brother is also a son of Corlys. They could be half brothers, as Robb, Brandon, Rickon were raised believing Jon to be to them, sharing only one parent in common with Alan, Alan was clearly raised in his mother's home, his brother could be hers and her husband's. It also, seems to me from Alan's age, he might be from a time before Rhaenys and Corlys came together, or it was a "fling" a very long time ago, which she had since forgiven. In the other show, by order of the Crown, Ramsay was legitimized from Snow, given the recognition of his father's family. Stannis offered to legitimize Jon, as would be in his power as king. Interesting thought that hadn't occurred to me, legitimizing Alan. Episode 23:50 I hate to admit it, but when this shot came across my screen, I made the comment "You're starting to look like your father, Aegon." Post-Episode I don't know if this is what they are going for, but I feel like the curse of Harenhall plays on the darker desires of those within it's walls. I believe Daemon came here looking to establish a base and to raise an army for Rhaenyra, that he ay well have fully intended so. But while he's here, it's playing on the darker desires he has been previously struggling to keep at bay. If I recall their last conversation, Rhaenyra was asking Daemon if he accepts her as his queen and ruler, which he did not actually answer. He left in something of a huff, to put it politely. As examples that one doesn't have to be pure Valyrian/Targaryen to be a "Dragon Lord" I put forward Lucerys (RIP) and Jacerys their father was of House Strong, their mother Targaryen, so at most they are 1/2 confirmed blood. It would make sense if say 2 Targaryens married into other houses 2 generations ago, but then the child of one in one house (1/2 blood), married the child of the other one in the other house (again 1/2 blood) their children could be also be half-blood. Not to mention, Aegon and Aemond both claimed dragons and are 1/2 Viserys Targaryen, 1/2 Alicent Hightower. Strictly speaking. We have no confirmation (on screen/in show, I'm not talking books here, because books and show will vary, and I have not read the books) that Daemon "allowed" the murder of the child who was murdered. They cut away without letting us hear his answer to "If we can't find him?" We only have his word that he didn't, and that there was mentioned "A son for a son" Since they never escaped the city with the head, we never saw Daemon's response to what head they brought. I could conceive of conversations where "a son for a son" could be said, not indicating "any son will do" but then the one responsible for carrying out the killing "interpreting" it as such when they couldn't find Aemond. Did you go a bit long after episode? Sure. Did _I_ enjoy listening? Definitely.

14:30 when you say "men are so weak" even though you are talking about men in the show, it feels the same way as when men say things like "women are so emotional" or whatever. Just swap the genders and see if you're insulted still

4:40 Displaying the remains (either a head or body parts) of a defeated victim to a general public - especially in a time of rebellion or civil war - was a pretty common practice in the Medieval period (in a time without photos, film footage or tv, but just as liable to suffer gossip, rumour or "conspiracy theories" as we are). Displaying the head of the defeated dragon as definitive proof is really only just the same.

I feel like Team Green are no longer Team Green. All main figures have been totally removed and replaced.

bastards can be legitimized (poor example but think ramsey snow becoming ramsey bolton). there’s even a war regarding a king legitimizing his bastards, not far in the future from this time. but, as that has not happened yet, and as rhaenyr’s bastards are hers and not her husband’s, that is an argument that TB has in their favor. TG counter argument is that rhaenyra’s bastards were not legally legitimized, but as laenor never declared them to be bastards, and as they are directly related to the head of the house (rhaenyra), who is also the monarch, i find it to be a shaky counterargument.

Hi Larissa, hope all is well. Aemond ruling is going to be nothing but chaos. Daemon is thirsty for the throne, Christian Cole continues to build on his lack of lack of morality. I'm not to sure about Corliss as Rhaenyra s Hand, but who else is there? Will there be more dragon riders who will be able to truly join in a dragon battle, it remains to be seen. Take care. ✌

I love this story, but this was the first episode of any GOT episode, that I got bored. The pacing hasn't been great. Too much talking, not enough doing. That's fine for the first few episodes of a season, but this was episode 5 of 8. I'm hopeful it will pick up, but I'm worried.
