you need to marry that precious woman who is your reactor partner if you have not already. She is lovely, and smart, and compassionate. She will make a great mother to your children. You both are marvelous together.
It was a subtle touch, but showing the woman having to buy rotting fruit while Cole cleaned his sword with fresh lemons was quite telling about the haves and have-nots.
The conversation between Rhaenyra and Mysaria with Seasmoke in the background suggests that Laenor really died somewhere in Pentos or wherever he went.
I really thought the guilt of Aegon’s son would help Daemon see the light, but he just keeps going down a dark path that’s gonna make things more difficult for Rhaenyra
I think Harrenhall is acting sort of like the Horcrux did with Ron in Harry Potter. It's amplifying the negative things he feels. I have a feeling that once he gets out of there, he'll come around.
Bc Daemon isn't a good person. He doesn't give af about Aegon, his son, Aemond, Alicent, or any of the greens. He views them as his enemies at war and treats them as such
I think we finally see what role the new characters (guy in the bar and the blacksmith) will play. I hadn't noticed before this episode the blacksmith's hair was silver.
The show did a good job at introducing characters without being too much on the nose. They know their audience will eventually picked up the details and clues to piece the story together, they didn't treat the audience like children. Very uncommon for TV shows nowadays.
28:11 Daemon's mom died when he was 3, so he doesn't remember whereas Viserys did, being the older brother, but even he said in 1x4, "You were always Mother's favorite." I guess he took that with him.
Gotta love how Alicent thought she could sit the Throne during a War her side started SPECIFICALLY OVER a woman never being allowed to sit the Throne. Her character is SO FUN how she just lives in a constant state of self-delusion
I love how you seem to be the only reactors (that I have seen) to include the "Inside the episode" segment. It adds so much more to your whole video. Thanks again for a great reaction!
The Dragonseeds tied back to when Viserys said "The idea of only true Targaryen controls dragons is just an illusion." Jace was right about Valyrian history being written to glorified House Targaryen as the only dragonlords when in fact the Valyrian bloodline also runs within other houses/bastards. The Targaryen's incestual nature is part of gatekeeping controls of the dragons as only legitimize Targaryen's princes/princess are given dragon's eggs to place in their cradles, allowing them to learned and bond or claim dragons. Rhaenyra was also right about this plan being a mad thought because if other houses can also have dragons, the illusion of Targaryen being special and closer to gods would be gone.
There is also this small detail that the dragons that have no riders are bigger than hers, Jace's or Daemon's, which means that if they do not listen to her, or worse, turn against her, they will be powerless.
Daemon is kind of silly for telling the lord of blackwood to try and "persuade" the brackens which already hate each other deeply by making them do more wrong things to each other like that is gonna make them change their mind and bend the knee, the brackens literally showed daemon theyd rather burn than bend the knee to the blackwoods why would they do it now that youre having the blackwoods make them hate them even more?
Not defending Daemon, but he did tell the Blackwood guy that there are certain things the crown must not be seen to do, then the Blackwood guy commits all these crimes flying Targaryen banners. Like did he not even hear that line?
@@vijayanand6650 Maybe, just maybe, he didn't want his house to carry the atrocities Daemon ordered them to do? Daemon didn't care that he ordered women and children raped and kidnapped, he cared that he was blamed for it.
1:51 not a smart idea to parade the head of a dragon the symbol of your house and strength and show people what they believed was invincible is actually not
The idea is bad in terms of image, but it won't hurt them, because after all, the only thing they showed was that one dragon can kill another dragon. The real problem would be if they showed a dragon shot by a scorpion, it would suggest to the people that anyone can kill a dragon.
I think the show is making it quite obvious that Alys is messing with Daemon's mind. He doesn't control his visions and I bet most of his interactions in Harrenhal aren't even real. I'm curious what her goal is - to seduce Daemon for some black magic or Dragonseed? Is she a ghost/witch? I'm intrigued by this storyline.
The storyline involving Daemon and Alys Rivers, particularly the supernatural elements at Harrenhal, is both intriguing and well-executed. As a reader of the books, I find the portrayal of Alys Rivers by the actress to be exceptional. Her ability to hold her own alongside Matt Smith is impressive, and her performance effectively conveys the character's mysterious motivations and ambitions. This nuanced portrayal adds depth to the character, enhancing the overall narrative of the show.
No matter how bad I also feel for aegon and sunfyre, Mind you NOT EVEN Maegor Targeryan the Cruel disrespected dragons like that. They are pride and strength of House Targeryan. Thats why all of the Team Green are nasty hightowers at the End of the day. Parading meleys head through kings landing damages the Targeryans reputation and risks angering the people. Dragons are crucial part of Targeryan power; disrespecting fallen dragons could lead to unrest in Kings Landing.
I hope Corlys becomes Rhaenyra's hand. She needs him. I love how Mysaria and Rhaenyra have teamed up. I like seeing Rhaenyra treat Mysaria with respect. I was overjoyed watching Alicent essentially lose what little remaining power she had during the council meeting. I'm also curious if maybe Rhaena could try to claim one of the wild dragons that Jace and Rhae were talking about. A solid episode and I enjoyed it.
@@sproductionsinc Either you didn't watch the scene or listen to the dialogue or you're just trolling. Alicent asked to be named regent and was shot down by everyone in the council. NGFYA.
I’m not a fan of Alicent either. Now she knows how Rhaenyra felt when they put a userper on her throne and stripped away her power when her father was so ill.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 2 things can be true at the same time. She was preventing Aemond from taking power and she wanted the regency as well. She said it herself, she had the most experience running the kingdom when Viserys was sick. I believe that both things can be true. That's how I understood the scene anyway.
Not defending Daemon, but he did tell the Blackwood guy that there are certain things the crown must not be seen to do, then the Blackwood guy commits all these crimes flying Targaryen banners. Like did he not even hear that line?
This moment between Corlys and Baela is nice of course, but, damn, it is massively disrespectful to Rhaena. Baela is betrothed to the heir to the throne, she will be the queen. if one of them should inherit Driftmark, it must absolutely be Rhaena. =)
@@sproductionsinc Technically yes, Baela is the elder, though they are in fact twins. But the point is that Baela currently is poised to be the the queen of the realm. That is why Rhaena was betrothed to Luke, then heir to Driftmark, and why she certainly should be the one being offered it now.
@@hedinsee6830 If Baela were the heiress of Drftmark, her first son with Jace would inherit the throne from him and the second would inherit Drftmark from her. Rhaena doesn't understand that she was entrusted with 2 royal sons, 2 dragons and 4 eggs and the task of rebuilding the entire Targaryan house if necessary and she considered it a humiliation, she is too stupid and immature to be an heiress of anything.
@@anhkriva5274 So by your logic everyone but the eldest sons will have nothing in this world. Read up on history, such an attempt results in quick bloodbaths and a return to normal succession. :) Baela's and Jace's children will be princes and princesses of the realm. They will have the resources of the crown and every noble house in the land vying for their hands. That is precisely why in the exact same situation it was Jace who was the heir to the throne and Luke who inherited Driftmark. And they are all *children* . Of course they are all idiots now! Including Baela, Jace, Aegon, etc. If you want a succession by merit and experience, you will have to overthrow the feudal system and install a modern oligarchy. They learn on the job. Like everyone else.
@@hedinsee6830 What do you mean by returned to normal succession? This is normal succession in a medieval kingdom. To prevent dividing the family property and lands into smaller and smaller parts with each generation and thus weakening the family, the oldest son inherited EVERYTHING (land, titles and property), the second son was well educated and given to the church to pursue a career there. Subsequent sons either looked for a job as a servant of someone better placed or became soldiers/mercenaries and tried to earn something for themselves during the wars. It's similar in the GoT world. Otto, as the second son, would have had nothing if he had not bought his way into favor and gotten a good job at Jaehaerys' court. This was true even for a prince like Daemon, everything he owned was tied to positions that were temporarily entrusted to him and could be taken away from him at any time, everything except the sword and the dragon.
So even in the post credit interviews they ignore that Meleys was the dragon that killed a bunch of smallfolks then say that she was a beloved dragon... I dont get this show.
It's the same with people reacting to this series. Many argued that Aegon hanging a few innocent ratcatchers would incite the people, completely ignoring that the people didn't care about Rhaenys killing hundreds a few days earlier.
i disagree a lot about the greens, last season Alicent was forced to do some things, and the kids were just kids, only Otto generated a true hate, this season we can see all bad greens do and there's no excuse, Alicent breed these kids as crap, only Haelena is worth something and it doesn't have anything to do with Alicent (and she's out of picture), war didn't start for her because everything was arranged before her misunderstanding and even without it it would've happened, the problem is the way she taught her kids, that's why i say this season is done to hate them and i had forgotten 2 pieces of s... Larys and Criston... whoever supports team green doesn't love their mother.... keep rocking and stay safe!!!!
Alicent usurping Rhaenyra's throne because misunderstanding and because she doesn't think women should rule: 🥰 Alicent when the Coucil named Aemond Regent instead of her because they don't think a woman should rule: 😲 Her facing the consequences of her own actions is my favorite part of this episode lmao
