They didn't mention Daeron last season because they couldn't find a way to work him in. He was raised in Old Town with his uncle. But Daemon did mention the Greens have 4 dragons: Aegon rides Sunfyre, Aemond rides Vhagar, Heleana rides Dreamfyre and Daeron rides Tessarion.
The fight between the twins is like the perfect microcosm for this entire conflict: Two sides that mirror each other fighting to the death, and ultimately, it doesn't matter who wins, because either way, everyone loses.
I think there should've been guards protecting the rooms, BUT. they might've been sent away so Alicent and Cole wouldn't be in their view doing the deed. Or that's my explanation of why there isn't even a knight in any hall where Helaena ran, before going to her mother.
Arryk had the night watch. Normally he would have been in the royal apartments. But Aegon was in the throne room, so Arryk was there. Cole was off duty. It was really no one's fault. That's why none of the Kingsguard were punished.
A good chunk of why people had issues with Jamie and Cersei despite all the Targaryen incest was because it was normalized with Targaryens but not with the rest of the houses, but a huge part of them needing to hide it in GoT was the extra context that it 1) meant Cersei was cheating on the king and 2) meant that the heirs to the throne were actually bastards. Siblings being betrothed and married on purpose would have still been some level of taboo but not anything near the chaos that Cersei and Jamie's relationship was
Daemon is hard to trust, but Otto manipulated The King into disowning Daemon, ultimately imperiling the entire realm. Then he married into the wrong family, Otto’s family and Aeagon would be the rightful heir. Forcing his daughter and Daemon into marriage and open war anyway. If he had married the Driftmark girl, daughter of the Queen that never was, Daemon would respect their standing and we’d have peace.
Cersei and Jaime arent Targaryens. The Targaryens were allowed to do incest because they were essentially "special" with the bond of the dragon and had different customs. For everyone else its taboo.
And with Cersei and Jamie there was the added fact that Cersei was married to Robert and on top of that it would’ve exposed Joffrey as a bastard and illegitimate for the throne.
Daemon had some valid points tho Viserys was a weak king he made stupid decisions which divided the realm and also divided his family and he did name Rhaenyra heir only because he wanted to put Daemon in his place.
The creators of the show say it was also a way of honoring Aemma's memory. Not just the Daemon stuff. But yeah, it was definitely part of it. If it was just to put him in his place, Vicerys probably would have named Aegon heir. He really wanted Rhaenyra on the throne.
If Viserys was smarter, he would have wed Daemon and Rhaenrya or Rhaenrya and Aegon. If he really wanted her to rule, he should have eliminated all rival claims to the throne.
Yup, I’ve always said this. Viserys was lucky that Daemon loved his brother cause he could have easily killed him off and taken the crown if that’s what he really wanted. Viserys was a kind king, people mistake that for a good king. He made many mistakes that led to what we are watching today.
Still can’t figure out if Cole was dumb enough to think killing Rhaenyra would prevent war, If team Black murdered Aegon would team Green just give up? Don’t think so
Well, right after the reign of Aegon the Conqueror king Aenys I and his wife Alyssa Velaryon had six kids and the oldest of them, Rhaena and Aegon were promissed to marriage. Then the two married and went on tour throught the kingdoms to show off to the realm. The faith was not happy with them marrying since they assumed that only Aegon I would have theses Valyrian morals, so they started rebelling through the kingdoms. Well it didn't end well because Rhaena and Aegon got stuck on Casterly Rock and their uncle, Maegor usurped the throne, Aegon deffied his uncle and died. When Maegor died some years later his nephew, Jaehaerys would inherit the throne with the help of Lord Rogar Baratheon and his mother, Alyssa Velaryon. The two of them became his regents since he wasn't old enough no reign and they didn't want him to marry his sister, Alyssane, because they were still traumatized by the faith rebelling. So Jaehaerys and Alyssane fled to Dragonstone and married in secret, when Rogar and Alyssa discovered it was already too late, so Jaehaerys convinced the faith to accept the Targaryen's different culture by saing that they were closer to gods than to men. That way they installed the doctrine of exceptionalism, that allowed the inblood marriages in the Targaryen line.
Aegon is sympathetic because he hasn't received any parental love, but he remains stupid. And with a stupid Hand now as Cole, the Greens have lost a lot. The Blacks are not that great either, they also lost a Kingsguard, their leading couple don't trust each other and their reputation is ruined. It will depend on the dragons, won't it? Syrax, Caraxes, Meleys, Moondancer and Vermax vs Vhagar, Sunfyre, Dreamfyre and Tessarion.
Someone should have told the show's creators that the protagonist doesn't have to be a holy hero, but they didn't. And they also forgot to tell them that a brutal clash of rich, dense images is ALWAYS preferable to a refined story about victims of circumstances. Even if in the first case all the characters are devils, scoundrels and ambiguous people who took a wrong turn. The Game of thrones has already trodden this road. Tywin, Jaime, Tyrion, Littlefinger, Stannis (our king), Dany, Theon, Euron - all are very far from the ideal personality, to put it mildly. And yet we either love them or love to hate them. But they are what make this story awesome. “House of the Dragons” needed the firm hand of a decisive showrunner who does not bend to today’s fragile audience. Alas
I'm not sure what you are talking about really.. because both sides have people that are likable and sympathetic and both sides have people who are straight cunts...Cole is one...and imo Daemon is as well at least with how he actually goes about things maybe not his intent. Alicent has likable qualities while still being some what a shit..Aegon at least thus far as well..minus l how he treats women..Helena is totally likable just. Odd...Rhanerya is like Alicent somewhat likable but still a shit...Rhaenys and Corlys imo are totally likable..Eryk and Aryk are both likable and arguable morally good characters since they are both determined to uphold their oathes despite it being made more difficult by the families own in fighting...all the nuances of the characters are there. Sometimes less accentuated than others but still there....I think audiences in general find a hard time rooting for anyone on the opposing side of what they have decided is their morally correct side or team. But ive seen plenty of reactors acknowledge that oh Alicent isn't completely horrible just a result of those around her and vice versa to those on team black as well. Apologies if I misunderstood the point you were trying to make but based on how I read it is how I formed my reply. Cheers
@@theIronwolf1984The show still remains too biased towards Rhaenyra's side though. It's clear as day, the audience's opinions and plenty of polIs reflect that, basically all of them have their sympathies with Rhaenyra. I mean, how can you not, the blacks are clearly shown as the less "bad" side. I thought they might lean more into that this season but we got nothing so far.
@abdullahkuzhan7247 I guess to quote Otto "I hadn't seen it that way" at least personally just because to me I see the "bad actors" and "sneaky snakes" as they are and root for the few characters on either side that I like rather than as a team as a whole. NOT to turn this political but for example Rep vs Dem. I don't believe that either side is wholly good or wholly bad. I believe their are people on both sides who want whats good for everybody. And there are those on both sides who just wish to further their own agendas and have no real policy platforms on issues that matter ie schools Healthcare proper care for veterans and homeless foreign policy etc. Some of them on both sides clearly don't care about the citizens and unfortunately it's the loudest and stupidest ones that have social media followings that spread their messages of division and make the average American believe that they are so drastically different from one another, when in reality their are only small differences between us and often times without a microphone to amplify the negativity then those differences are negligible enough to where we SHOULD be getting along.... Sorry for the ramble and cheers
