Rhaenyra Targaryen theme soundtrack of House of the Dragon (HBO) #fire&blood #houseofthedragon #rhaenyratargaryen #rhaenyra #gameofthrones #millyalcock
I just broke up with my bf and this was playing in my head the whole time. In tears from sadness but this makes it feel empowering and also horribly depressing 😭
@@ssomouse Its completely normal to feel that way and create connections between certain moments and songs. The negative feeling will pass and no longer be there, with time. Eventuallly you will be able to listen to this and just get the positive feeling, once you completely get over those negative emotions.
I love the use of this theme in the show. You really began to see fate and destiny work their magic. You only hear her theme when a decision or event starts bringing her closer to war. Someone said it right. Its a haunting war march theme.
@@mi-moon_ well he was actually a tea boy for hans before he was a composer believe it or not, and after he showed hans what he could do the rest is history
I love how Danys theme always gave me a sense of sort of soaring through the skies while Rhaenyras theme almost feels like a warmarch like both have a sense of intensity and strength but Danys is far more building up to it building to power but also freedom in a sense while Rhaenyras is a march to something she has far less of Danys freedom in her theme and honestly that fits..Dany broke her chains(you cannot convince me Viserys wasn't a chain on Dany) she broke the chains of many others while Rhaenyra is chained to duty..she might defy it at times but regardless she's named heiress to the throne and must act it i find it brilliant they gave Rhaenyra her own score to reflect the differences bc Rhaenyra isn't a Dany 2.0
But she is recognized as heir to the throne very early. She was kinda born in purple. I would expect everything about her more grand in every way. Daenerys tries to regain his lost birthright. While rhaenyra is already crown princess and set to rule.
@@goodfortune4317 Forgot to respond but i consider the deviation of House Targaryens theme Mysha Danys own theme since it's titled after her but you are correct that there was never a song specifically titled Danys theme and House Targaryens theme was used for Dany most of the time but my opinion on it stands the same since it in the show was essentially only Danys
Daenerys theme had hope behind it. Cause her story was yet to unfold and she was hoping to finally reclaim the iron throne as thebrightful Heir to it. Whilst this is a prequel series and the book about it is fully finished and most know how it ends for Rhaenyra. So her theme is more of a haunting march, ever marching towards her inevitable doom.
Rhaneyra is the very picture of how you create a strong female character. Take note Hollywood. She struggles, she pushes, she has setbacks, she overcomes. She isn't some bland boring Rey Skywalker who is the best at everything just because.
Yeah I was discussing this with a friend. We brought up the She Hulk controversy and how House of the Dragon covers some similar issues, with a strong female protagonist, and does it in a way that's really excellent and entertaining.
Love that she has flaws too, deep flaws that make her all the more compelling. I was worried they were gunna whitewash her in typical Hollywood fashion but nope! And she's all the better for it.
Another comment said this theme is very different from Dany’s because it feels like a slow, almost doomed march, very powerful and dark. Representing how Rhaenarya is bound to monarchy and her fate yet fights. I haven’t even seen the show yet but I feel that this gives me such a clear picture of who she is as a character
These Vocals man... They make you feel the tragedy, the struggle. And yet they are powerful, cut through the rest clear and loud and just sound like the call of destiny... Art
I don't know, to me it sounds like she is trapped by her destiny and obligations. She is unable to do what she wants but fights on and makes the best of it. The song is kind of sad to me but mysterious at the same time.
You'd think Ramin would run out of ideas for writing beautiful themes after writing so many wonderful themes for characters in GoT but here we are, what a maestro
Yeah I guess they won’t release the soundtrack album until the season finished to avoid potentially giving the plot away with what certain song titles and themes used.
I get everything from this melody. Duty, failures, betrayals, conspiracies everything that had to be sacrificed for what you aspired. A woman's war, clearly portrayed in this theme...
Why would they use a character theme in the intro? I think the GOT theme will be used for all the spin off shows, similar to how the marvel theme is used for everything that’s MCU.
@@EverythingInTheFrame They could've mixed the got theme to give it a different vibe since it's a different show but they went for the simple route, similar to what Narcos did when Narcos mexico came out and they could've made a mariachi cover of the narcos intro and they didn't because people recognize it. Even marvel in some movies changes their intro song with a different sound or genre, most recently they did it with Thor love and thunder
I loved Dany, but can i say, Emilia seems more of a conventional beauty. I however love how ethereal Milly and Emma look as Rhaenyra. It's how I imagine Targaryen beauty to be like.
This really should've been the theme song for House of the Dragon. The old theme is nice, but this captures the actual tone of the show so much better.
Or even using elements of this in the old theme-like the drums, the string instruments etc. I think you can have it be “game of thrones” without Stark written all over it
this theme underlines exactly how this intelligent, innocent young girl descends through strokes of fate and stuff to this reckless, embittered queen, totally losing her moral and track of her goals
I love the contrast between this one and Alicents theme which is far more somber to my ears. Alicents comes off as “dignified”. Rhaenyras sounds like a March to win where Alicents sounds like the reserved Queens walk towards an acceptance of her fate.
Which fits both characters. Alicent is commited towards doing exactly what is expected of her, aiding her father, husband, and sons. Rhaenyra, while intended to be queen, must fight for her position.
Memorable moments when I first noticed the theme - Rhaenyra getting the egg back from Daemon and the theme comes forth right after (S1Ep2) Rhaenyra seeing the white Elk then her blood splattered stroll through the camp with the slaughtered boar dragging behind and she is looked over by the crowd with various ranges of shock and awe- including Harwins approval. Seeing those two moments was when I realized - oh yeah this is HER theme We also hear it multiple other times when she’s on a mission of some kind It was nice to hear a newer variation of it when she’s being crowned a little less driven version I noticed - less assured. Less like a March that it usually suggests...
You can actually hear a tiny bit of Dany's theme here and there. It is definitely distinctly different from Dany's theme, but I like how they subtlely put it in there. I mean, they are very different characters but they do share some of the same problems, and I feel like Rhaenyra crawled so Dany could run. Man imagine if some kind of magic will let Rhaenyra see Dany in a vision or something. The 2 of them sharing a scene would be wild, though obviously, Dany shouldn't be able to see Rhaenyra for obvious reasons, but I see no reason why the other way around couldn't be possible. I mean we already had the Jon Snow reference so now, we need Dany
When Ser Arryk (Ser Erryk?) Brought her the Crown of her Father and Sworn... to be her Sworn..Shield and Daemon put the Crown on her head, tgis song or Rhaenyra's Theme started playing and they all kneeled the lil hairs stood up on the back of my neck and my eyes filled with tears It was a Silent but Powerful Scene. There's a hint of Sadness in this theme,Heartbreak. Because she knows what she will have to do,and Otto is wrong I don't think she ne er had any intention of harming her half-siblings or Alicent. King Viserys created this conflict. He should have betrothed and married Rhaenyra to Daemon to strengthen their claims not fucking married again!!! Viserys married his daughter to his son so what was the big fucking deal that Daemon wanted to married Rhaenyra? Daemon would have protected her and her claims in a way her father King Viserys never could
I love it. I'm wondering if the Lannisters will have a theme. I'm going to miss The Rains of Castamere. It's hard not to associate that song with the Lannisters but unfortunately The Rains of Castamere was made during Tywin's era 150 years after The Dance of the Dragons.
Love this soundtrack, perhaps a more epic iteration of this soundtrack should be the intro credits music for House of the Dragon. I am so annoyed they're still using the GOT into music on House of the Dragon. It deserves it's own intro that actually suits the show. At first I loved the GOT into music as much as anyone but after listening to it several hundred times I find myself bored of it or skipping it.
Dammm I bet they are gonna play this on the last season when she dies I can already picture it her marching bravely (slow motion) to her brothers dragon looking as fierce as ever looking straight at the dragon and accepting her fate reading it was hard but having to watch it I think I’m gonna she’d a tear
@@craigarkensaw Absolutely. By far, one of the most fascinating female characters ever written, imho. Though they ruined her in the show, her journey is so interesting to follow. Full of challenges, adventures and in the books, her visions are some of the best things in the entire series. Rhaenyra is kinda interesting compared to other Targaryen women but she doesn’t come anywhere close to Daenerys.
Some time ago I swore I would only hear guy themed music, as womanly music kind of brought out a feminine side of a man, but this one, is totally different, it hits in such a way, almost giving you a feeling of courage.
