Not to mention that Vhagar and Meleys were Baelon and Alyssa's dragons, the parents of Viserys and Daemon. They spent decades as friends but then had to battle each other in the end.
"Rhaenys Targaryen, beloved daughter of Lady Jocelyn Baratheon and Prince Aemon Targaryen, faithful wife of Lord Corlys Velaryon, mother and grandmother, the woman who could reign lived without knowing fear and died in blood and fire"
Aemon tried to kill Aegon 3 times in this episode: Letting him go alone to fight when he saw him coming, when he launched the Drakarys and when he went to the place where Sunfire fell to check what happened to Aegon.
@@abrielleburnett7420 stab? nope watch it again... Aemond sword was already drawn when Cole saw him... what we saw was Aemond about to sheat back his sword to pick up the dagger
this is copium lmao aemond sword was out when he went to aegon, he smoked him on purpose please stop cope aemond a villian he will also say that the crowm looks better on him than his brother in next episode he always wanted the throne😂😂
"Princess Rhaenys made no attempt to flee. With a glad cry and a crack of her whip, she turned Meleys to her enemies." - Fire & Blood (Im fuckin cryin bros) RIP to the Red Queen, and The Queen Who SHOULD’VE Been.
@unc54 all targaryen are bads ,they are slavers and so many more bad thing they don't care about anything but their family ,that was one of the book points, that's why dany in the book is different, she want to break the wheel ,and change so many things her ancestors did
@@Core4VTReacts and the person he killed was from the Bracken clan - they have been feuding forever. The two groups fought at the beginning of the last episode.
it was revealed that the brothers alyn and addam are the illegitimate sons of Corlys. That’s why Rhaenys acted like that when she met Alyn for the first time!
@believeume122 And actually, she was kind with it, She told him he saved you, so you should honor him, not hide him. I don't think any woman could do that.
@jirapornsudanich8520 That was different since she was forced to be around him and couldn't even get any info about where he came from or his mom. The usually thing was to have them raised elsewhere but it was very strange to have them at home and raised the same way as the rest of the other kids. Not even Robert did that with his nbastarf with a noblewoman.
I think the reason Aegon is so upset about not being listened to is because as Corlys once said "History doesn't remember blood, it remembers names." If he sits back and does nothing all everyone will speak about is how great Cole was in battle and how formidable Ameond was on Vhagar - just like they were saying at the council meeting before he left. He will be forgotten in history if he cannot make a notable contribution. I actually felt bad for him. He didn't want this, he never did. They never even trained him secretly to do the job correctly if they wanted him to have it. And now they belittle him for not knowing enough. He only started wanting to be King during the coronation because the people applauded and praised him, something he never got at home from his family. Alicent is a terrible mother. She didn't even comfort him when his son died and now when she actually speaks to him it is only to make him feel useless and worthless. I know people say that is because she got that from her father but that's not true because other people can go through those same experiences and choose to be much better as parents than their own parents were to them. Simply because they understand how bad it made them feel growing up in a household like that - they overcompensate for it. She is cruel because she wants to be nothing more.
exactly!! nobody cares about alicent's sob story, if she was a good mother she wouldnt want her kids going thru the same shit she did. thats never gonna be an excuse for me.
aegon is literally trying to be a good king but they won't let him. he wants to be informed but at the end of the day he is just a weapon of his family. he never wanted to be king so he was never taught that. on the other hand rhaenyra is very passive and her team has the advantage and she is not taking advantage of it.
@@leonardohenrique5172 That's true but also the Greens never wanted to use Sunfyre in combat unless it was absolutely necessary. Their whole gameplan is to get 1v1s against Vhagar and pick off the Black dragons.
@@leonardohenrique5172 Aemond was foolish here. he hurt sunfyre and now his team is weakened because of him. knowing the foolish decisions he will make in the future infuriates him. It is impressive how sunfyre with zero experience survived vaghar and meleys as well as aegon. the writers by doing that are unconsciously making aegon greater for resisting 2 dragons.
20:50 "Dragons are fire made flesh" - dragon blood is extremely hot. It can melt iron. This is why the soldiers cried out in agony as their flesh was being melted away.
I literally BALLED MY EYES OUT so bad!! Rhaenys was my favourite character, such an amazing strong woman, she will be deeply missed. She would've been such a powrful hand to Rhaenyra! 😭😭
Also, to be SOMEWHAT fair to the council people, their queen has been making very....passive and strange decisions while the enemy has been making aggressive moves to capture strategic land in preparation for the war. So it makes sense that they're all in doubt.
And mostly because she's a woman. They clearly don't care for it. They're shitty to Baela & Rhaenys as well. The only reason her decisions seem "strange" is because all these men are used to being battle hungry.
Bro she literally knows that they gone have to fight beyond the wall lmao what’s more important these petty fights over a crown that won’t exist if they don’t all come together??? Did nobody watch game of thrones ? 😂
@@Saggiterrorist That yappity yap connecting to GoT doesn't matter because at the end of the day they'll fight over the throne. If she knows how 'important' she is, then she should stop diddling her thumbs (which I believe this ep shows she's finally in that mindset) and secure her position for the throne. Again, her people have every right to be doubtful because she legit just disappeared without telling anyone and they find out she WALKED into the enemy base to talk to their leader. If this wasn't a tv show Alicent would have had her caught and killed to end the whole thing. Also, Rhaenyra might know about the song of ice and fire but no one else does. So why are you acting like they're all stupid for focusing on the CURRENT fight for the crown that's right in front of them, instead of focusing on a story that THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW EXISTS.
@@Saggiterrorist Also, you responded as if I don't know her motivations and reasons. My comment merely explained WHY her people were doubting her. Because to them she isn't doing anything to give herself an advantage in the war and just disappears randomly with no word. Even her son didn't know where she went and not only that, Daemon is chilling and harrenhal and not responding to any of them. If I was on that council, I'd be like WTF too.
@@Mukatutu yall are stupid for acting like she doesn’t have a reason to be passive aggressive! Bruh we know rhaenyra can thump at the time this is happening they don’t know it can happen in 100 years for all she and her father knew it could happen in a year or two …. Fighting over the crown is stuoid and ego based will it happen yes but the truth is there’s more important things…would you rob me while a natural disaster is coming most idiotic ppl would bc they thinkin of the small shit instead of the bigger picture
Auntie knew she had to fight to the death… If they lose Rook’s Rest, Dragonstone loses access to the mainland. And she wanted to try and disable, or at the greatest, kill Vhagar to give Team Black a better advantage. RIP The Queen Who SHOULD’VE Been.
i actually love how different the tactics were with the dragons because as said by another person was that rhaenys & meleys attacked by using her claws because the main agenda was to hurt the dragon and take it down whereas aegon and aemond would order their dragon to spit fire because that would also hurt the rider, it just shows the difference between the characters as well ewan mitchell who plays aemond has mentioned in the bts video that the part where he orders vhagar to fire at aegon & rhaenys was raising the question of whether aemond saw the opportunity to strike at aegon or aegon was just collateral damage in that situation
5:45 - Not really, remember Otto and his allies were alreafy plotting behind Alicents back to put Aegon on the throne, really her misunderstanding Viserys last words don't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
I saw someone pointing out to the scene where Alicent dropped the dragon figurine and broke its wing, was foreshadowed of how Aegon's dragon, Sunfyre, died. The glass wine Aegon pushed and scattered into pieces was also foreshadowed of how Rhaenys and Meleys died
Aeomond wanted to wait it out as long as possible for Aegon to get himself killed , because he is too foolish... it would have looked suspicious if he waited much longer. Aegon damn well deserved it though. Airhead . Rhaeyns had also made up her mind when she decided to go that it was to be her last battle. She knew what she was doing.
There were two episodes with action before: 1. battle of the Stepstones; and 2. Luke being stalked by Aemond. But this is the first time we’ve scene prolonged aerial combat.
Aegon's not dead just fucked seriously fucked up! And aemon definitely did that shit on purpose. He didnt even go after Rhaneys after aegon fell. He just flew away. Til she spent the block and came back. Aemond is about to rule in aegons absences.
GOT was so much creepier and heavier with the "Mystical" and the "spiritual" 😭 They even used to go too far sometimes😂 Harrenhall was also still cursed in GOT. Its always incorporated those magical elements. I think these visions Daemon's recieving in HOTD are important somehow...possible foreshadowing maybe?
Even though I knew it was coming, I am still gutted over the loss of The Queen Who Should Have Been. I loved Rhaenys. While I *do not* love Aegon (in fact, I cannot stand him), I do have a certain amount of sympathy for him. Yes, he is a bully, a r@pist and an idiot, but I try to remember how he was raised. He had two shit parents and he was forced onto a throne he was never prepared for and did not want. He never got any attention, affection or guidance from either of his parents. The way Alicent treats him is absolutely disgusting. She is such a shit mother. Not just to him, but to all her children. It's a stark contrast to the way Rhaenyra is with her children.
Alice is a wood witch I wouldn’t take a damn thing from her. I wouldn’t even want her anywhere near my food or drink or anything. I was putting on my body because I wouldn’t trust her and he should really stop sleeping in that werewood bed because werewood make you have funky dreams. Daemon be tripping
I work a lot with Herbal of teas and things like that and that particular mixture contains probably three or four herbs that even currently you do not want to let anybody who could possibly be pregnant have any of those because it can cause a miscarriage. And if you go back and watch that scene again, and when she puts her hand over her tummy, she is currently pregnant and not just a little bit pregnant. She has had four kids and women can tend to look bigger quicker with each pregnancy.
