Surprised this is considered an unpopular opinion, the show spells it out for us. But I guess some fans are blind 🤷‍♀️

THIS!!! 🫠 That's why I always tell people IDGAF who the damn daddy of Rhaenyra's kids really is... cuz the Hightowers would have snatched that throne from her regardless, believe that! The idea of having to be ruled by a woman when there's a perfectly good penis sitting right there who could do it instead, is just too upsetting for them. lol And when that penis belongs to a drunk, rapey family member of their OWN, well... that's some power that is way too compelling to throw away. Otto planned from the jump to use his little fertile teenage daughter to produce sons, so that his family line could be elevated. They were never going to let Rhaenyra rule. NEVER. But besides all that... Rhaenyra's kids were legitimized & given the House name of Velaryon anyway! AND, it was backed by the previous king. So much so, that Vicerys even said he'd take the tongue of any man who claimed otherwise! THAT should have been good enough for everybody but nooo... They would have done ALL of this no matter what, anyway. People need to get real about these damn Greens! The whole wicked family are some vile, oathbreaking, power hungry c*nts. Daemon saw through Otto season 1 episode 1, though. Pretty sure Rhaenerys saw through him when he whored his daughter out the the king. Furthermore, the Faith of the Seven's ultimate plot is to destroy all dragons. His grandsons would've been usurped too. The dude wasn't nearly as smart as he thought he was.

Alicent is the only that does what she believes is right. She accepted Rhenarya as queen until Viserys said what he said. It's crazy how much Rhaenrya does whatever she wants and uses all them other babies as she pleases but ppl eat it up. Alicent is just surrounded by evil ppl on all sides.

Reminds me of Cersei speaking on her younger children, saying something along the lines of "how did I make something so good?" And maybe she wasn't a complete monster

Rhaenyra wouldn’t have made it out if she offed Alicent. That would have been the end of the blacks for sure. It would have escalated things but Baela probably could’ve got that little group of soldiers with Ser Crispy but she was following RhaeRhae’s command.

In the book, Rhaena is the last dragon ride in the world until Denaerys hatches her 3 eggs. While all the other dragons and riders are killing each other, Rhaena hatches one of those eggs. Her pink and black dragon Morning is not big enough to ride until well after the war has ended, but she rides it decades after the other dragons are gone. Morning was not the last dragon to hatch but was the last which was not stunted or deformed.

I don't think Alicent would do that. Deep down those two still have a lot of love for each other. Plus, Alicent now feels guilty for her part in usurping the throne. She also doesn't think Rhaenyra will win the war because she doesn't have an army.

She is a Queen dowager with access to both the Queen and King as their mother. She could influence them if she tried. She just feels dumb for making the biggest mistake of her life.
