That part had the cringiest writing. I mean sure the knight guy looked pathetic and it was obvious he would go like he did but then like mentioned MINUTES before "dragons respond to fear." The dragon chooses a random mf fishing and running for his life and the dragon suddenly says whoa wait you are my master. Ugh the writing keeps getting cringier in the show

Actually, it shows just how much of a failed mother Alicent is. She cannot even properly console her own daughter-in-law. Alicent is more concerned with power and status than the well-being of her own sons. When Aemond says that to her, it underscores how little affection he feels for her. Aegon too really didn't feel his mother's affection but only turned to her when he felt disregarded. In some ways, Aegon was saying why am I this way...WHY did YOU make me THIS way! Aemond, to his credit, realizes what his mother is. He knows that his ONLY true worth to Alicent is that he is a product of Viserys and thus gives the Greens a claim to the throne. He throws a bit of that callousness back in Alicent's face. There is also quite of bit of latent resentment that Alicent never endorsed the idea of Aemond being in power. From a practical, Alicent petitioned to be Queen Regent, displacing Aemond. To have her sit on the Smal Council, someone who opposed him being Regent, was thought to undermine Aemond's authority at the Council.

He's also only got power because of Aemonds brother, so nobody else who'd rule would care for Larys and might just dismiss the need of a Master of Whispers again. Larys knows he has to pick the side that will allow him to keep his power, so he can build more.

Daemon crying with Viserys knocked me over, especially after he wakes up and realizes it's too late to make it right in any way. Truly heartbreaking seeing those two powerful characters crying together like they never did. My favorite moment all season so far.

I thought that reflected more poorly on Aemond than Alicent. He's Joffrey level dumb as a ruler. Alicent was the only parent who did care about him, we aren't shown a reason for him to resent her or anything, so I can only conclude he's just too stupid to understand the value of loyal people on your council. Except for recalling Otto just about every decision, he makes this episode is a poor one. At this point he's much more of a threat to Aegon's claim than anything Rhaenyra is coming up with. 😂

Starving out the city just to get them angry and then offer food is the only smart thing Rhaenyra has done this season. Its ruthless and I love that the show pointed that out that even Aemond is wondering why the people misplace their anger at the crown instead of the faction responsible for their shortage. Its bizarre and genius at the same time. It just shows you how easy us day to day people can be manipulated when our basic needs aren't being met.

My first thoughts when Seasmoke claimed HIS rider (not the other way around) was ... that is such a cat-thing to do. Just like there's a "Cat Distribution System" ... Seasmoke showed us there's a "Dragon Distribution System" too. Yup, that sealed the deal for me about their cat-like nature. Cats choose you as much as we like to think we choose them.

All Daemon's hallucinations are tied to his fears and most inner demons: Rhaenyra being the heir instead of him. Daemon himself turned "the most dangerous man on Westeros" And of course, the death of his brother. This episode dealt with how he misses his brother so much, and how much he loved him dearly.

Larys is always angling, but his words happen to come from an honest place in that scene. It's like what Jaime said about Cersei and how she was adroit at 'using the truth to tell a lie'. That's what Larys is doing in that scene. He's trying to keep Aegon in his back pocket by saying that they are alike.

I had hope in one scene that he finally leaves harrenhal and does something related to the story, but then he went to right back. I was so looking forward to how they portrait the Book Daemon into a Show Daemon, and this season, so far, I have really had enough of that. Don't wanna hate, I love the show but it was already too much the last episode. Nevertheless I enjoy Simon Strong, I can't really remember anything about him from book than just his name, but in the show I can't get enough of him :D

Honestly surprised how many people are eating this S up and cheering for it. All the characters from the castle had to do was come down and say "Look! We have forced the false queen to submit and hand over her provisions! Our victories in the field over her have paid off!" I am convinced that everytime she is included in a scene she is foreshadowing something in the story.. 2.
