I remember seeing this when it cam out in the movies 1960 was it ? Anyway when the skeleton comes out of the acid they had a dummy Skeleton hooked up on a wire that floated above the audience then receded back towards the screen so it looked the skeleton entered the film and then you saw Vincent price with the wires reeling it in . But as a kid 10 years old the film scared me and I still love watching it thanks

I have always liked this movie, each time I see something different. Ole fashioned but still one of my favorite movies. Loved Vincent Price, he made it all~~~

Price could read the phone book out loud and make it interesting. Also a gourmet cook. His cookbook is a collector's item now.

Wow, that Ms. Manning -- I've never seen someone go into such utter hysterics and spazzy screaming only to recover almost instantly a few seconds later when this almost cold, angry determination sets it. I feel like she's playing a game of charades. The way she can dial through 5 emotions in 10 seconds is fine for an audition but horrible in an actual movie. I dunno -- there's something decidedly creepy about these old horror movies. Maybe it's the lack of copious amounts of gore and gratuitous violence you see in more recent horror flicks -- or maybe it touches a deeper, almost primal fear like the kind I once had as a child. As a 51 year-old man, horror movies have long since stopped being horrifying to me, but these oldies ... I can't explain it. I find they instill the kind of childhood fear that sits in your gut like a brick and stays with you hours after the movie is over. Sure, the visuals are something right out of a Scooby-Doo cartoon, but looking past that, these old movies are able to convey a sense of mystery and the unknown far better than the cheap jump scares and gorefests of newer movies.

Yeah, it wasn’t til 1:14:26 that that occurred to me. Same tile design as the ones seen on the interior walls of Deckard’s apartment.

I loved this movie! It was so bad it was good. In fact, my friends and I livestreamed it and had a blast commentating on it. Even my subscribers got in on the fun. We watch movies like this every Wednesday and Saturday. Do you happen to have any idea for other movies like this?

Would have loved to have seen this in the theater when it came out. This had one of William Castle's lesser known gimmicks: Emergo! It didn't exactly work as planned. Skeletons with glowing red eyes were hauled out around or over the audience at the climactic scene which simply invited boys to throw whatever was at hand at them to knock them down. Candy, popcorn, sodas....had to have been a glorious mess. "A toast!" to Mr Castle :)

As my only device on which to view this here is off-grid and this phone screen is 2 1/4" wide, I find it a challenge to be frightened of a 1" ghoul...

I wonder if that's a real house (the view from outside) or the 1950's version of CGI (models and artwork). It looks like a cross between an Egyptian palace and a Hospital. Freakin' cool as hell! After watching the entire movie, I'm pretty sure it's not real. It's only shown from one and the same angle. Pretty convincing though.

It actually was a real building with its unique exterior style located in Hollywood [east side]. My dad had an insurance office on Sunset Blvd and when we visited, this building was always a must-see. It's a famous Hollywood historical bldg.

@@gregjackson6612 Holy Crap! No kidding huh? Thanks for that! I really started to believe that it might be a model, CGI, or ART of some kind, simply because only one view or angle of it is shown. All they had to do is show TWO angles and I'd have been convinced. Do you know the name of the building or how I could look up more information and pictures of it? Is it in a certain Historical District or area of interest? I would love to know more about that building. It's really cool looking!

@@MikeS-um1nm I believe it's known as the Hollyhock House. It isn't a historical bldg when I left Hollywood. It's more famous as a great movie location. Hope this helps, Mike.

@@gregjackson6612 HOLY CRRRAP!! I found a bunch of videos on it!! I'm gonna watch'em ALL! It's a Frank Loyd Wright construction TOO??!!?! I studied a few of his creations in School, but we must've skipped this, or I'm pretty sure I'd have remembered it! What a house! Oh my God! The interior is outta this World! I can't WAIT to learn more about it. Thanks a LOT for telling me about it! I'm so glad I asked about it!

Adblock, my man. It's free and makes youtube, facebook, and many/most other sites bearable. I can't friggin believe I went until last winter to hear about it. I'm eventually going to make a donation to them. They don't require it, but it's an option...and WELL worth it.

@@JacksonAxe Yep, I haven't seen a single ad on RU-vid for a few years now. I keep forgetting that other people are still seeing them and being annoyed by them. There is almost nothing more immersion-breaking than watching a movie only for an ad to start playing at some random point. Unlike ads on television which are strategically placed to avoid (as much as possible) breaking immersion and present cliff-hangers, ads on RU-vid just show up at random times and points in the movie -- even right in the middle of a sentence. Adblock .... it changed my life. Well, maybe not. But it did change my RU-vid experiences for the better.
