House Proceedings - Dissent from the Deputy Speaker's Ruling (1992) 

On 29 April 1992, the Honourable John Hewson AM, Leader of the Opposition, moved a motion of dissent to the Deputy Speaker's ruling. This came after considerable disagreement with the Speaker's rulings following the conclusion of Question Time.
A division on the motion that the question be now put was tied. Therefore, the Deputy Speaker, Mr Ronald Edwards, casted his vote with the noes to continue debate in accordance with Speaker Denison's rules.
