I hope no one like Bronywn is ever allowed to be speaker again - from either side that sort of partisan obfuscation of rules is dangerous to the nature of our democracy
A speakers competence is judged by the respect they gain from both sides as well as the gripes they have from both sides. The fact bronwyn was adored and loved by the liberals and hated by the labor, crossbenchers and those unaligned is a stark sign of her grave hatred for the principles that should befit a speaker
Indeed my country Ireland if the speaker or in Irish Ceann Comhairle did this kind of favouritism of one party over the one they would immediately be forced to step down without question.
