I love her personality. I totally get where she’s coming from. My dad died at 38 of a heart attack. I was 11. My mom was 35 with 5 kids. We had to pull together as a team as well. I too am kinda fearless. My mom raised all of us by herself. I’m now 52. My mom rocks. And so does this lady.😊2all moms holding it down
Hi Sanita, amazing story to hear about your fmaily, we are kindred spirits, my dad died at 45 when I was 15 and my mom had 11 children, amazing how strong our moms were and I certainly became strong because of it
“ I couldn’t be bothered” to change the kitchen backsplash. “I’ve made peace with it.” Love this attitude from a successful talented designer who could have everything perfect. But she has her life priorities in order. It’s still a beautiful home that tells the story of her aesthetic and who she is. Also, now I don’t feel bad about using my dining table as a work space.😉
I love her supportive attitude towards her friends businesses. She seems like a genuinely nice person. And her house is very serene yet colorful. Another example good maximalism imo.
More Mally More Mally!! A totally delightful and wise woman. Thank you for introducing us to this talented designer. Her fabrics are extraordinary. Love them all. 🧡
Mally is one of my favorite designers, she is so open and relatable, her sense of joy she expresses in her homes is so inspiring! Good choice Homeworthy, thank you!
Finally a designer that doesn’t want to rip everything out of a house. She respects the home and designs around it which I think takes more talent than just ripping everything out starting with a blank slate. Very well done!
I love it all. Never thought about South African decor or design before, but she made it come alive. She spoke of her childhood and life in general, and I was drawn in. Very nice tour.
Ok now I just love this - her ability to go into a builder home and make it her own with only her things, paint and lighting.. plus I love her love of pattern, color, and white. Not to mention that painting/print of the interior with the periwinkle-ish walls in the MBR. It’s a favorite inspiration of mine. What an inspiration she is!
Beautiful home! I so agree that having meaningful things is more important than matching and having everything manicured but kind of generic. I also find Wellfleet (and the whole outer Cape from Chatham to Ptown) a wonderful place to shop for art and unique items. There's something to be said for Mally's not getting stuck on tiles and backsplashes, so she could just move in and enjoy her Palm Beach home straight away. I see a lot of people doing never-ending remodels, and by the time they're done, they're moving to another house, having never appreciated the previous one. That's sad to me.
We South Africans are generally extremely resilient and don’t sweat the small stuff. Love this channel and this wonderful ladies home and love of colour 😍
I love what she said about her start in her life making her fearless. I was just thinking about this exact concept, and how it affects my life and attitude towards challenges. I needed to hear this from an outside voice. Who knew it would be in a home tour video.
Lovely video. I just Felt the harmony and the love for her house, fabric and the respect she has for her husband. You can see that they are a team. I just wanted to point out that is absolutely lovely to see such a positive video, she used a lot the word “ love “ ❤. Thank you 😊
She is someone who you like to be around. She called clutter her beautiful items. I love the room with wallpaper and the beautiful curtains. I expanded the screen on my phone to observe them. The pattern on the curtains are striking. This designer is very down- to earth. She’s a multitalented lady! I’m glad to have watched this vídeo.
Your most recent postings have been totally over the top. Mally Skok, Tim Campbell, Katie Rosenfeld and David Stark’s episodes are especially beyond exceptional. They are each thought provoking, inspiring and totally entertaining. Your presentation techniques are perfect. And, how do you find these amazing people and convince them to so candidly share their astonishing unique creativities and points of view? Thank you.
Mally is just fantastic. I just loved this home and all of the interior design, so cheerful to me and as she said more of a relaxed house. Her fabric designs are beautiful. What a lovely talented woman. A very enjoyable tour.
This interview and tour turned out to be an unexpected delight. She is charming and I love her very personal approach to decorating her house. She took what was a cookie cutter house and turned it into a unique and beautiful space full of surprises and interest. I didn't think I would like this one, but I was totally delighted by her and by the house. Thank you!
Another delightful host! A good host makes her/his home come alive. They aren’t afraid to poke fun at themselves or share their mistakes. Much more than about design.
Oh Mally! I am South African.. been watching homeworthy for so long now and how simply wonderful to come across you and your wonderful style so heavily influenced by South African craft. Bless you! You are so talented and your home is a dream!! Thank you for sharing! 🌈
Hi Mally from an old gal in NY. Thanks so much for making my day with your gorgeous, happy colors and beautiful fabrics! What a breath of fresh air. Your "Bungalow" is fabulous! Just like you. Enjoy your new place, it's really wonder-full. Bless. 😘🍸🏝⛱️💐
I love the bed for her little doggie!🐕🐶 Her bedroom- office seemd to me something recharged with so much different print, but instead I loved the guest bedroom!💗
I’ve just watched this for the second time. I think I enjoyed it even more than the first. So talented yet unpretentious. This woman is an absolute delight.
Wow I didn't expect to love this so much! Such a relaxed, easy like Sunday morning, no fuss South African personality and home. This might just be my favourite home so far!
I can relate I was born and raised in Massachusetts, and I will probably die here I am 72 and a widow with a dog who I adore even though I hate the winters I can’t picture living any place else❤ love your decorating style❤❤
Im an interiordesigner and just bought and furnished a house in capetown. 3 minutes into that video i was thinking: What a loooovely lady. That kind of sparkle and cheerfullness i only know from southafricans....and VOILA❤️
My favorite host! From the moment she opened the door she welcomes you into an authentic, charming and delightful world of stories, memory, collections, stunning fabrics, curated African influence throughout, joyful, not in the least bit contrived. What a beautiful enchanting woman and her home. Love her and her Palm Beach dream come true. More Mally Skok
Another favorite!!! I have a rule not to Do business with friends - sometimes ends up bad!! BUT I love what she said Supporting my friends enterprise!!! Good rule!!! Love the quotes I get from this show!!! Just makes scenes “Looks perfect to my eye” LOVE IT!!! ❤
Absolutely gorgeous! You are such an amazing and beautiful person! ❤️ I love everything about your home! I truly enjoyed watching and I pray beautiful blessings upon you and your family! I hope we get to see your daughter’s apartment on HW sometime soon! ❤️
Very warm and cozy, a true reflection of the owner and the house does provide a really great frame for all the beautiful things she's done with it! I'm a maximalist and love all her varied collections! 😊
Very fun to watch her talk about the things she loves. I recognize the painting of Liz Caan’s living room! And the Sally King Benedict paintings in the hallway.
Beautiful blend of color, pattern, and memorable things. Thank you for sharing about how you grew up. Your prints are amazing. I don’t mind your backsplash either…lol.
....your husband needs to have a word with mine - I live in the grey UK!! Love your style, and your energy, and your blouse, and your jewellry, and your wallpapers and fabrics.
Luv,luv, luv the fabrics, the overall feeling, the wallpaper, everything! I'm a Capricorn too and I truly like your philosophy and the finished product. Cheers!
