Me and my wife got some for free on Craigslist.. didn't really pay attention to it but later noticed it was drying out. Told my wife and she started watering it daily and kept it hanging outside where it can get enough sunshine. 2weeks later and this thing is just growing like crazy. I'm not into plants but this one was kinda satisfying to watch and grow.
I love this, my banana vine is struggling with the top leaves dying and now i know why🤣 i have over 50 different plants but for some reason I couldn't figure this one out lol
It's a common problem for sure. It's tough to give high-light requiring plants enough light from the top in our homes. A grow light or some repositioning with some propagation should work well for you!
Best video so far! Well constructed, you don't waste time by talking about things other than what the video is titled about AND I APPRECIATE THAT. your plants are gorgeous! I have a house full too, just got my first string of bananas and I don't want to kill it. Thank you for the great video! Subscribed and will send my friends to your channel as well !!
Honestly, these are such easy plants to have. One of my first plants I got years ago and girly is still thriving. I live in a very humid place and it's hot af here. Root rot is a thing as it rains 9 months of the year and hurricanes the other flippin 3. Never had issues with my string of banaynay. I have mine in a potting mix I got from dollar general. I water whenever I walk past and think "i wonder when the last time i watered this was"... so maybe bimonthly. Its huge, my cat climbs it like a curtain cause it essentially is. It's hanging on my porch and she goes from the ceiling all the way to the floor and honey is lush too. Thicccccc
Thank you good sir I like your shirt and your plants even more take this as a normal comment but you are handsome 👍 please take this as a supportive comment bc online is weird but thank you for the tips and tricks :)
If you prune it, will it branch out?Mine has formed two "elbows" where it's sitting on a bookshelf, aiming back up towards the nearby light. I'd like to prune those off.
Thanks for subscribing. Glad you’re enjoying the content! When it bought it, it was about half the length. I’d say it can grow at least a foot a year provided it’s getting enough light.
I was wondering why mine was dying and my apartment doesn’t get much light even tho it’s directly in my window :( maybe I’ll need to find it a new home
great video. question, thinking bout putting this plant in my bathroom. If I use artificial plant lights and watering system, will this plant do well in bathroom? /Bklyn👑
hello, my plant is doing quite well thanks to this helpful care video (i almost killed him because it was getting too much direct sunlight, i had to move him before it all just died😭)! however, i do have one question. there is a fuzzy, white flower(?) kind of thing that popped up on one of the healthiest strings (my plant is still recovering from the bad spot haha) and i was wondering if it is harmful, or if it is a good/helathy thing? google isn’t showing me anything.. could you help?
Question-my string of bananas is still a baby. It's growing long thin vines with really thin bananas. I've wrapped it around but only the bottom ones are getting plump. Should I cut them and put in soil?? Help please. Ty
I bought one and it has bad brown cracks in some of the bananas. I don't want to over water, how can I fix this issue? Should I repot in a different mix.
