This was super fun and cute! Phill was hilarious especially because his mustache kept disappearing. Yoli is always adorable, a very fun spin on the Olympics.
😂😂 Already looking forward to Alan Ocasia covering the rehab and prop-paralympics! And as a tache grower myself, I have to say Philip's looks absolutely glorious!
I’ve been watching you for many months now. I love your laid back and relaxed approach to videos. I’m always down for a little repot or plant chores chat that we can do together almost like having a friend in the room. However, I must say that this might be my favorite video of yours that I’ve seen! Such a fun style and great way to introduce and discuss the plants! The “Phil” character had me cracking up with laughter! That mustache was a character of its own! Sometimes it was there, sometimes it wasn’t, sometimes it was upside down…!! 😂 And of course Joli is the superstar!! I would love to see more little cameos of her! Such a sweetheart! 💕 This was definitely the best video I’ve watched all week, from anyone!💚🌿🌱
🏅 gold medal winner Claire 🏅 for best plant segment!! This segment was so clever and funny. Thank you for sharing your creative talents. Fastest grower - syngonium mojito Fuzzy foliage ficus villosa Adaptable grower rabbit foot fern Quickest to root tradescantia dark lord? Best abseiler variegated chain of hearts Striking veination alocasia sculpture - so beautiful ❤️
My personal winners in each category would be: Fastest Grower: Philo Melanochrysum. In 8 months, it grew 8 leaves and climbed 1.5 metres up its pole :D Fuzziest Foliage: Gynura Purple Passion vine. I normally don't like leaves with hairs coz the texture makes my skin crawl, but those those purple hairs are so soft. Most Adaptable Grower: Parlour palm. It's been indoors, outdoors, in a dark corner, in direct sun, covered in dust, overwatered, underwatered (literally forgot to water it for like, 4 months once). I honestly don't even really like it lmao. It definitely deserves gold in this category. Strongest Plant: Surprisingly, alocasia frydek. Hear me out: it's in the way of an office chair that hits it almost every day. Absolutely just drags the leaves as it's pushed past. Not even a single rip. Not a blemish. The corm/stem/rhizome is also as thick as a baby's arm so it does not budge. Quickest to root: Ok not technically a houseplant but - tulip bulbs in leca that I'm growing indoors. Literally rooted overnight! They're almost ready to bloom too :'D Best abseiler: Maranta red vein. It grew so low in its hanger that I had to shorten the string on the pot so we'd stop hitting our heads on leaves lol Most striking venation: I would say alocasia frydek too, but for something a bit different, I think my winner is ludisia discolour "Spiderman". Its veins are electric red!
Such a great idea! Love the video 💚 Here are mine: Fastest grower - Hoya linearis Fuzziest foliage - Hoya thomsonii Most adaptable grower - zz raven Strongest plant - ginseng bonsai tree Quickest to root - tradescantia Nanouk Best absseiler - marble queen pothos Most striking veins - anthurium doc block f2 Bonus category - best climber - epipremnum Cebu Blue 😂🎉
Phillip Dendron this video is creative and you have quit an imagination. I never seem a video like this style. 👍🏾Video. I’m June in my Junegle🪴USA 🪴Happy Planting🌿
Hehe Claire this is the best!!! Thank you for bringing so much joy to life!! This was so great, and Yoli was so cute! Thank you :) this brightened my whole day! I don’t have plants in all the categories, but fastest grower is definitely the Brasil philodendron, best abseiler is string of pearls, and for a made up category, most dramatic pest survivor is my ficus triangularis :) it only had two leaves for a while, but were filling back out nicely now :) I hope you’re having a great day!!
😂😂😂 The slightly different accent for Phil was a nice detail. The moustache had so much tape on it at one point! For next Olympic Games I suggest a gymnastics category, for those plants that grow in weird and unusual ways 😄
Fastest grower - Rhaphidophora tetrasperma Fuzziest foliage - Calathea rufibarba Most adaptable grower - Variegated Cast Iron Strongest plant - Sansevieria Moonlight Quickest to root - Maranta Red Stripe Best abseiler - Philodendron Silver Stripe Most striking veins---none yet, but I want an Anthurium clarinervium
Alocasia Jacklyn's leaves look quite unrealistic but still so beautiful. I think this is a really genius Olympic spin-off and way more interesting than the real Olympic games!
The fastest plant I've ever seen root was a Maranta Red Stripe. I took a cutting, put it in a jar of water on a seedling mat, and in 24 hours, I saw "fuzz" around a node, and on the second day, ROOTS. Actual roots that could not be confused with anything else. I kept asking myself if it was possible, if I had taken other the cuttings the previous week, if what I was seeing were roots, or fibers that were unraveling from the stem. Nope, they were roots indeed. I've tried other again with the same plant, and while it's been fast, it's never been AS FAST as it was that time.
This is really cute!! My winners: Fastest Grower: Hoya Fungii; Fuzziest Foliage: Hoya Calycina; Most Adaptable: Aglaonema Golden Bay; Strongest: Sansevieria Zeylanica; Quickest to Root: competition canceled due to lack of qualified contestants; Best Abseiler: (tough one) Hoya sp aff Burtoniae; Most Striking Veination: Anthurium Crystallinum x Magnificum.
Such fun thank you Claire 😂😂 some worthy winners and my raphidophora tetrasperma is my fastest growing plant but then my string of hearts went from a few inches long to being three foot long in about three months ?? X
You need to get a Purple Velvet Plant Gynura Auranti. That would take gold in the fuzziest plant category for sure. I love mine and adds a nice bit of colour to my green house jungle
Why do you care? It's just a bunch of cheating dudes and drag queens now, you should be ashamed of yourself to support the destruction of women's sports and dreams and health
If I would have to find winners in my plant "collection" then every single one would be a winner because I have only 7 different plant species so far 😁
