I'm from the suburbs of HTown and Texas Brisket is my most favorite food.....I will support Ray's Smoke Shack very soon. What sold me is when he "prayed on it" and it happened.....A Man of faith!

Houston native here. Good to see you in Houston, showcasing what we have to offer. I'm a bit biased about Ray's because its the one BBQ spot I frequent the most. There are still a lot of Houstonians who are unfamiliar with Ray's. I wish you'd tried the potato salad. Truth has the best cakes. Pinkerton's has the best quality meats. If you ever come back, I'd suggest Corkscrew, Killen's, Roegels, and Triple J's.

Thanks for shining a light on Ray’s BBQ Shack. Him and my mom have been great friends for years. We used to come see him all the time back when he had the food truck. He’s been a staple on the soutside for years. Glad you enjoyed the food, great video!

February - March is a good time to visit. I'm Texas born & bred lived in Houston/Galveston all my 54 years. Those months are lots cooler and if you time it right you can check out the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo , usually runs mid February into mid March.

Houston has the most top 100 bbq spots in the US. I don't know where you heard Austin is beating it or Dallas.

The top BBQ places by ranking are in the Hill Country around Austin or the DFW area. Snows Goldees Hutchins Franklins Terry Blacks Cattleack Louie Mueller I'm sure Houston has some just as good, but it's a newer scene down there and not as well known around the state and country yet.

I think you’re trying to say that the name of the rice is disrespectful. With that being said, many places have names for their food . The name “ dirty rice” is a trend name speaking to rice that is no just white and plane. “ dirty rice” is a form of rice with colour, spices and made to your own accord!
