As a 'Caps fan this video made me smile. The progress the league has made over the years is astounding! Let's just hope we can see it filled week after week.
nice stadium, congrats houston. It's nice to see how soccer has grown in big steps in the U.S.It's time for other soccer cities in the states to build a stadium like this.I hope it will be sold out every time the dynamos play a home game. -From an Ajax Amsterdam fan-
I'm a Sporting KC fan. Looks like a great new stadium there in Houston. Rivals our park. Looks worthy of a road trip! Great for MLS as a whole, too. Teams like DC need to get building!
Fuck the haters. They'll never know how it feels to watch a local team live every week and watch them grow. Even if I didn't have a local MLS team, my number one team would be an NASL or USL-Pro team. And just look how much this league has grown in just the past few years. It's pretty amazing.
im an earthquake fan and this is my favorite stadium in the league. It is done right. First 20 rows or so are pure without tunnels so it will look great on TV. I hate it when stadiums have tunnels right on field level where people have to turn and walk up to their seats. They should always walk down on the bottom deck.
Sounders don't need a new stadium! CenturyLink is perfect and was built for Football AND Soccer. And seeing as the fans continue to come out more every year, it won't be long until they're utilizing the full 67,000 capacity for every game. They're 38,000+ every game this year, and 4 games with all 67,000 open.
Terrence Boyd is gonna be a beast, so is Jermaine Jones. Tim Howard played for Manchester United ( I don't think I have to say anything else). And I'm saying that if all 40 million of them start playing, not like 10 people who play, and 5 of them make it to the national team.
lulz for changing the subject. Its not what I said, I told you to google it. But of course you will claim our soccer athletes would play other sports, yet we have only started taking it seriously the past 16 years or so and already we have produced world class talent that has played through the mls and tested themselves in better leagues. Unfortunately people like you will attack what I have just said, just like you attack what I said above. No matter what or how, haters gonna hate.
I was only talking about having some type of colors in there, but as long as our name is inside the stadium and we are apart of it, im cool so u need to chill with that UH student, but i bet u will be popping in and out that stadium watching us play
The issue is new football money. Look at UAE and China and the millions used to lure players there. MLS is on a different trajectory, less about flashy players and more towards entertaining product in a few star players while also building a lasting foundation through academies and a sustainable business model.
I'm glad there is no maroon and gray in it. The main purpose is for the Dynamo, with everything else following it. Don't like it, tell TSU to build their own stadium. -UH Student.
(cont) You call becks and henry cheaters, but you see real madrid players (pepe, ramos, ronaldo) and barcelona players (busquets, alves, villa) dive all the time and get away with it because the ref sides with them. and why are you talking about mls being a low quality league? we're all here to see a brilliant new soccer-specific stadium
They say that the sport will never take off in america, much less a domestic league. Well, the mls is 16th in the world in attendance in ALL OUTDOOR sports, 9th in association football and overtook the nba avg attendance for 4th in the usa... Suck it haters.
They are like first or second generation immigrants from like Hatii or columbia or ghana etc... I'm talking about the descendents of slaves in the US with names like Jones, Jordan, Smith etc.
Jeld-Wen was built in 1926. So.... Your argument fails on the account on the lack of MLS history when it cannot possibly compare to other established leagues. It's hard to upgrade talent when oil money is bankrolling holidays in UAE and propping up mid-table EPL teams.
Rofl, MLS is already better than La Liga, all La Liga is is Real Madrid vs. Barcalona, nothing else really. Even Sevilla fans protest with tennis balls.
1st. I never said anything about being more popular than nba. 2nd ask that question to a 12-24yr american and you will realize that you are wrong (google it) and the fact that demographic prefers soccer and in turn mls (not that far off from international soccer) as their no.2 sport behind nfl will make mls not only not go away but it will thrive and overtake all but nfl and maybe mlb as America's favorite sport within my lifetime. But no matter what anyone will say, haters gonna hate.
Ummm whatever helps you sleep at night. You can't even say Livestrong SP is a better stadium. When SKC beats the Dynamo in a meaningful match to avenge last year, then come talk to me. You know that hurts you more than having an inferior stadium.
I love watching soccer, but watching the MLS makes my eyes bleed. If all these 12-24 year olds love soccer so much as you say, then why do the best athletes keep choosing to play football, basketball, and baseball, and the leftover scrubs who couldn't play those sports play soccer? Everybody knows that the sign that a sport is popular in America is that it will be dominated by African Americans, but you'd be hard pressed to ever see an African American playing soccer.
