I love that Houston thanked God for that meat. That means a lot. When I harvest a chicken from my backyard I thank the chicken for it's sacrifice and I thank God for this provision. I'm grateful that we have this opportunity to provide for our family. Lots of the homesteading channels that I watch plant food plots and put corn down. I see it as keeping the deer fat and healthy. Do what you need to do.
It humbles me so much to see a young man like Houston to give praise to Jesus first and then his father for his harvest. Congratulations Houston, You all are amazing!
Houston you are a testament to your family, religion, community and your morals. Kelce did a great job tracking your deer....congrats! Your lessons are well received....you are all blessed!❤
Society will be a much better place if more fathers follow your lead, Daniel. We need to raise up our boys to be solid young men. Your clearly doing just that. Hunting is one component that works well to teach respect, ethics and stewardship. Outstanding!
Congratulations Houston! I’m disabled in a power wheelchair. My friend is taking me hunting. If people saw how I have to hunt they would complain to. I’m legal at everything I do. When you’re disabled it doesn’t seem like hunting. I’m very limited when it comes to hunting. I’m happy that I have someone who is willing to take me hunting and understands my limitations. God bless you guys.😊
Mr. Arms, Over the last 64+ years, I have come to the conclusion, that when someone criticizes another, it stems from jealousy. People are not pleased with how their life turned out and will try to tear down those who are happy. Live and let live and pay no attention to the negative Nancy's. I love your channel, keep up the good works you do.
Daniel You Have Helped Houston Mature , A Lot Over The Years , He Is Learning A Lot From You !!! That’s What An Awesome Father Does For Their Children !!! Well Done Sir !!!
My husband lost his arm 28 years ago. He hunted before that, but after he couldn't pull the bow anymore he quit. Our sons years ago wanted to go with him to hunt so they bought him a compound bow. At first he climbed a tree and shot his first couple of deer that way. But he is now 72 and not able to climb a tree anymore. So they got a ground blind like yours and he has 5 heads to remember his hunts. His grandsons use his now when he isn't. So we all have deer in the freezer. Congratulations to Houston.
Daniel you hit the nail on the head about the state if people can’t praise or be happy for another. They have to tear others down to make themselves look good. A sad world we live in. Thank you for teaching your children better.
Daniel, you and DeJay are raising an awesome son. To thank Jesus then you made me quite teary. The respect and gratitude that 12 yr old shows now is an indication of the kind of man he is going to become. Thank you. Good job Houston. Love to all❤️
I really enjoyed that Houston thanked God for the deer. That shows he understands that God was providing for the family. Well Done Daniel on bringing him up correctly.
I absolutely love Houston’s smile. His smile is so infectious! I love that he took the time to thank God for the deer and the meat that it’s going to provide the family. That says a lot about how you’re raising him, Daniel!! Kelsei is going to make one heck of a tracking dog!!
Thanks for taking me along for the ride. I've found in my 71 years that one lifetime is not long enough to live the different lifestyles that catch our interest and our heart.
Daniel i don't know why people have to make sour comments. I like watching a dad and son or daughter video because it brings back memories. It is a precious thing about taking your kid and watching him learn the his and lows of hunting and being happy and sad with them when it goes right or wrong. It passes so quickly that you need to enjoy it for the moment. I remember taking my son when he was 10 and I was 27 and he got his first one and he was so excited and shaking like a leaf from the adrenaline now he's 42 and I'm 65 and disabled and can't hunt anymore. So treasure every second your out there because it can all go away so fast. I think you do a terrific job with Houston and Emma Lee. Just treasure it friend. Thank you Houston for giving thanks to Jesus because he's the reason we have animals to hunt. And treasure your dad being with you because you won't aways have him be there. God bless!
Daniel, I know you are proud of how Houston handled & spoke after the harvesting of the deer. Him thanking Jesus for the food for the family. You have every right to be proud. Thank you for your presence & teachings on hunting & fishing. God Bless.
Houston made me cry. He is so precious Dad, I know you are proud. We did the same with our daughter, we were always out in the woods. I guess it paid off, she is doing what she loves working at a nature center and she is a Master Naturalist now.
I'm so humbled with Houston thanking God first for his deer and the meat he got to feed the family. God put them on the earth for us to eat. Congrats to Houston on his first deer of the year!
My Dad was a hunter. He loved bird hunting but his favorite was deer hunting with a compound bow. The challenge, the sport and the cunning it takes to harvest a deer with a bow was something he cherished. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with MS and lost the ability to do the things he loved the most. It was very sad watching him lose all the physical things he loved to do. Go, bond with your son, and do the challenging things in life while you can!! The memories you are making will be something Houston will remember with fondness his whole life.
That's why I've been watching 10yrs now, you have a God anchored demeanor. At 77 and a bit to disabled, I can enjoy this channel as often as you share, I love the variety.
Daniel, Yall are raising a wonderful young man in Houston. The respect he shows for you, hunting and for the life of Gods animals is just wonderful. Just touches my heart to see a family doing things right.
Congrats on your deer!! That's awesome! I 100% agree with you on everything you said about hunters putting each other down. They seem to forget that all hunters have the same end game, to bring meat for your family. It should not matter how that is done & what kind of weapon or supplies is used to obtain that goal. My Dad told me when someone is talking crap it's because they are probably jealous of you or of something you have that they don't have. I know he was right. I wish he was still alive and he could have taken us girls out hunting to teach us how to provide for ourselves. Unfortunately he passed away before he could do that. When I see you out with your kids I think of my Dad and it warms my heart. It's refreshing to see your kids outside and enjoying the outdoors. Keep on taking your kids out and spending that quality time with them. Thank you for sharing this special moment with us! I hope you guys get the other deer you are after. One more thing I want to say thank you for teaching me something new today, about why the deer are different colors. I thought it was just that time of year going into the winter months, lol. Anyway hope you have a great weekend!
Sweet deer.. Congrats. Cherish these times hunting with your dad. I lost my father last year and it is hitting very hard this weekend as today is the opening day of early muzzle loader here in Iowa. We always were out in the woods opening day and every day until we filled our tags. Though sad, I would not trade the memories of the hunts with dad for all the cash in the world. Can't wait to see your next one.
Those people like to tell everyone else what they should do or not do. But don’t tell them what they should be doing or not doing. They don’t want to listen to you. So glad you are sharing and showing the right way to hunt.❤
Way to go Houston! While I’m not a hunter, I respect and appreciate you for harvesting a deer that you will feed the family with. God bless you! Love from Canadice NY ❤
Planting a food plot and putting corn down, not only brings the deer in, but it feeds numerous deer besides the one you want to harvest. I see it as a win win. I don't hunt, comon, I'm 71 years old! My dad never hunted, he grew up in San Francisco, but I see nothing wrong with hunting. I see you and Houston spending quality time together and Houston has learned the safety aspect of hunting. He's also learned how to provide food for the family. Our ancestors did it...there is nothing at all wrong with doing that in this day and age. Cudos to you both for living this lifestyle! And Houston; congratulations on your first deer this season! You are doing great!!!
Houston, it’s been great watching you become a respectful young man, not only as a hunter, but as a young man who knows where our blessings come from and thank the Lord for those blessings. Your dad also made a good point about how you hunt, and I agree, you should enjoy the time spent hunting the way you want. That’s how memories are made.
I totally agree with you I live in the state of Washington we can legally bait deer in I live in a county of restricted firearms, which means 12 gauge or muzzleloader or archery what three years ago they included crossbows, modern firearms only which means you cannot shoot a crossbow archery hunting, which is fine with me my wife and I both shot big bucks in Our back yard with a crossbow, we baited them in with deer blocks and corn with the outside game camera just like yours because you liked it I bought the same reveal camera. I also brought the same coalition frontier crossbow you only thing I’m doing different get rid of those 390 grain bolts slow it down a little bit and put 450 grains were the mega meat, G5,three blade I won’t be tracking your gear very far massive blood trail change Houstons broadhead
Houston,,,, the thing that impressed me most-- was when you just stopped your details about Kelsey,,, then watched silently at the other deer. TRUE outdoorsman/sportsman.
Wow, what a difference a year makes. Houston, you sure have matured. Daniel, you are an amazing father, teaching your children how to provide for the family.
I wish New Zealand had a blind hunting mentality. Watching your stewardship of the land and passion for doing everything in your power to prepare the land best for the deer is so wholesome to see
Great video, Great speech at the end in front of a incredible adventure van ready for hunting. It reminded me of my grand father telling me of getting criticized for hunting dear off his back porch that was 50 yards between his house and lake that was in Minnesota. They told him it was a lazy wast of dear, and it was not hunting. And he said not only is it hunting, but god made it convenient for me to feed my daughter and my grand kids in Los Angeles Ca, where dear are only seen on TV. God Bless all who hunts gods harvest. And God thank you for the harvest, Amen!!!!
Love the deer videos. That's my favorite time of year. Good clean family fun, camaraderie, food for family and friends. Help to keep the woods safe from disease and enjoying God's blessings!
Exactly Daniel. If it wasn’t for my dad and brothers hunting while I was growing up we’d be a very hungry family. My dad worked in a factory 5 days a week but with 6 kids to feed hunting was a necessity. I’m 75 and miss eating wild game.
Daniel you are so right. Their are people like that. That is not good sportsman. Who cares if they hit a bigger deer or not. You are teaching your kids the right way to hunt. I'm proud of your kids. I love your videos. Congrats Houston. Enjoy the hunting season. Kelce did a great job.
Thank you for this video, the comments, but most of all sharing the teaching experience of hunting. Houston is an outstanding young man already because you and Dejay are wonderful parents. God bless you all.
I love watching you take your children hunting and spending time with them. LOVE watching him thanking the Deer for her life and thanking God for the food.
It’s always great to see Houston choosing between a young buck and an independent doe without a fawn on her! So mature! Way to go Houston! Totally thankful to the Lord for providing meat to fill your freezer for your family!
Daniel you forgot to mention the fact that harvesting a certain amount of deer a year also helps to manage the deer population for the good of the deer in areas around the country. It's to the good of the deer population to have their numbers controlled. I know I may have people argue this about my post but it's the only way to keep animals healthy by having enough food to go around for all .
I'm so happy to see Houston make a prayer for the deer and thank the Creator for the deer that will provide food for your family. Hunting is special as a means to feed yourself and the family. It's always important to thank the Creator for the bounty. Daniel, you've raised your son well.
Congrats, Houston! And Daniel, you are so right about the naysayers. ANY person who is respectfully and legally harvesting, providing for their family, and teaching their kids how to reap nature's bounty is doing the right thing, no matter how they choose to take that animal. Sometimes it's fun to go full-primal-challenge mode, but the ultimate point is to harvest, and to learn how to use what we harvest. We can't all be Clay Hayes. To those who think baiting is immoral, think about it this way: baiting allows us to be more choosy about what we harvest, instead of being stuck with whatever wanders in. It's better for us *and* it's better for the herd.
I have never hunted in my life, I have family who has always hunted. I am a massive animal lover and actually, on a vacation to Colorado last year, had a group of 30+ deer walk up to me at our condo in the woods and eat apples out of my hand and it was incredible and the best part of the trip for me! I personally couldn’t shoot an animal. But hearing Houston thank God for that deer, for the life it lived and the life it will bring your family through food was beyond beautiful and touching!!! Good job, dad, for helping him understand the importance of what it means to take a life and honor that life!!!! I got choked up listening to him! It isn’t the first time I have been choked up watching that amazing young man express gratitude over the experience and the life he took. Him killing limpy gimpy and being so emotional and thanking you, Daniel, was beautiful! You are doing an exceptional job in raising a kind, caring, appreciative, God-fearing young man and we are all blessed to be able to watch him grow up and enjoy the fun things your family does!!! Thanks for sharing your family and the animals!!! God Bless!!!
Oh Daniel, this reminds me of the many times I took my boy hunting over near Arkansas, he is your age now and we never miss the chance to get in the woods and going on 30 years. I call it making memories. God is good
Daniel, you are a Christian man and could never identify with so many out there. Just continue to be who you are as an individual and wonderful family man. Congratulations Houston and sidekick!
It is sad that everyone that is critiquing others have to act like that. I congratulate Houston on the harvest of that doe. He was so prepared mentally and physically. Watching him sight up his gun so that he is ready to make a clean shot. I have great respect for that young man and how much he has grown in this experience with his dad by his side. Please tell him that I love how he treats hunting and the animals he has harvested. Great job, enjoy those back straps.
I had the best hunting experience of my life two yrs ago when I bought my 13yr old grandson his first crossbow. After two days of practice, he and I sat in a blind all day and that evening he harvested a nice mature doe. The time spent with him was better then just the hunt. He learned as we went along that day. He passed on two smaller doe after I explained how to age a deer by looking beyond the body, looking at the face and how round it is, mature deer have a longer more straight nose. It was a clean kill and I think I was more excited then he was. I enjoy watching you and Houston interact together. He is becoming a fine young sportsmen and someday he will be able to pass this onto his children. Keep up the good work and may God bless you and your family. Oh give Emily my best wishes on a speedy and complete recovery.
Love to see the young man Houston is growing up to be, Nice deer and thanking God for the meat and of course his dad for teaching him to hunt and provide the food for the family.
You are so right Daniel, "preaching to the choir" however, sometimes that choir needs to be preached to. Love your videos, Houston is a blessing to watch, he makes me smile. We have hunted for years, and we also thank God for our that deer. Blessings to you guys.
Daniel & DeeJay....you have a very intelligent, humble, loving, kind, Thankful son!! Houston, Congratulations on your first deer this season. Many young men and women, boys and girls could learn tons from you at the age of 12. Thank you for recognizing the life of that doe and Thanking the good Lord above and your father. Your Awesome Houston!
God bless you and your family. You’re wonderful people, hard-working and honest. And you’re teaching your children great values., Hard work equals reward.🙏🏻👍🏻your teaching them survival skills, also self-defense.
I love watching your family's posts ( no matter the content ). I love the hearts and souls and spirits and personalities of each of you. I teared up when Houston placed his hand on his deer and thanked his God for providing and his Dad for teaching him... God Bless your family and our America 😉
I think the way you live and taught your children to survive by hunting and fishing is an awesome life! I am a Great-grandmother and we taught our children all how to hunt and gather! I love this way of life! Keep up doing what you do!Thank you so much for sharing!
Huston is doing great with hunting, and he thank god for putting meat on the table . Daniel you have done a amazing job teaching him the right way to deer hunting 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥰🥰🥰🥰🦌🦌🦌
Congratulations, Houston. You don't have to justify deer hunting to me, I'm all on board. The only difference in Tennessee, we are not allowed to bait deer and actively hunt for at least a month.
Long as you don’t fall out of a tree stand the perspective from that view is ok but I like the little blinds that you use. Sorry that Emily can’t go out this year but she will be back next season. Although watching Emily sleep while” hunting is funny!
Daniel I couldn't have said it any better. There's so much negativity in this world. People have forgotten how to stay in their own lane and minding their own business. You and DeJay have raised your children with respect for others and the land. Most importantly, you both have taught them about the Lord, love and the meaning of sacrifice. From what I can see as parents you and DeJay have done an amazing job. God bless.
Hello Daniel and Houston, Congratulations Houston on your first deer of the season. Thanks Daniel for training Houston the right way and the right reason that you hunt!
Daniel thank you for your kind words. Every Hunter needs to understand it’s just hunting. Not everyone hunts the same. Myself I don’t have a way to put corn out or video my hunts. But I do not down other hunters for how they hunt. I enjoy being out in the woods no matter if I see a deer 🦌 or not. It’s Gods country I enjoy being out there. Thank you again Daniel and God Bless you.
