Derecho winds are sudden and fierce, but only for a several minutes at most. I lived through hurricane Alecia in Spring, Tx, but winds built up slowly over hours and subsided slowly over hours, other than line of tornadoes that tore up I-45 corridor. We had hurricane parties during the days without power, as energetic youth! Are there any Derecho parties ongoing? Asking out of curiosity from Austin, Tx, my home the last 22 years.
you’re saying at least 22 yrs ago you were a teen, so you’re at least 40yrs old asking teens if they’re parting after a storm? Why do you care and why are you being a Weirdo asking about teens
@@meangreen6044 You're the only one making it weird. The guy is just reliving a fun moment in his mind from what was a disaster and curious if anything has really changed, simple as that. Try not to judge, it shows you are projecting.
You can't rely only on electricity this is why we have the Rodeo so you realize that sometimes in emergencies you rely on other ways. like the Amish for instance or Using a BBQ pit to cook food. That is what we normally do after hurricanes. You have to have a back up way of living like a frontier way of living like in YellowStone.
Centerpoint owns the infrastructure (light poles, transformers, switching stations, etc) in certain areas. There other companies out there like AEP, Lower Colorado River Authority etc
Maybe if they supplied better accommadations for their lineman crews service would be restored. 7000 men and woman having to sleep on cots and rely on only 4 shower stalls for everyone therenis barbaric.
We have power posts down due to trees and we have't seen anyone from center point and I live very central. There's a major hospital near me and and there's a center point grid behind our house with damage towers. We even had power boxes explode where one tree caught on fire and my neighbor tried calling center point and 911 and no one came by. Good thing the rain put out the fire. I guess the rich area is more important for center point. Which I'm sure they focus first and the claim hospital and services areas are first. Yeah right. They make sure our politicians and other rich people get power first. I'm an army veteran I know how rank works.
