San Antonio hands down. Less traffic, more to do, nicer neighborhoods at a better price, more affordable and less crime. And of course the River Walk and better Mexican food! Weather is better too!

San Antonio also has Fiesta (city wide party)!!!!! I grew up in San Antonio so i have preference for it, but I also have an appreciation for Houston and all there is to do there! Houston is harder for me to navigate with all the highways! This is a tough one! My vote is San Antonio. I have been in Arizona for 8 months and been craving breakfast tacos from San Antonio for this whole time lol! I am definitely missing it.

I’m from Houston, have been living in SA since 2017. I used to love no traffic, but now it’s terrible in its own right, but living here is cheaper and has more history, where Houston’s was torn down. I have a view of six flags in a luxury apartment and pay $1200 a month. I wouldn’t be able to get what I have here, there.

I lived in San Antonio for 15 years before I moved to the Houston area almost 5 years ago. There is definitely more to do here in Houston though since Houston is so huge it is going to be a drive to get there. I'm glad I raised my kids in San Antonio though for folks that do raise their kids in Houston I would recommend to live in the Suburbs. I'm in the Spring/The Woodlands area and am glad that I'm only a 30 minute drive to Houston. I do miss the Riverwalk in San Antonio and it only took me 15 minutes to drive there.

@@jadenkmay2352 Houston is it for me when it comes to the Texas cities. I prefer the vibe and feel of Houston; its culturally rich, and dynamic (I prefer a good Chicken & Smoked Sausage Gumbo and Boudin over Breakfast Tacos & Enchiladas). Each time I fly into Houston from NorCal, I'm super amazed by Houston's growth and energy - it somewhat has the feel of LA, but totally smothered in Texas, Southern, and salty Gulf Coast. Houston is blue-collar yet classy, but too has this weird grungy and artful feel to it. I think the sheer opportunities available in Houston makes it an easy choice in comparison to San Antonio. However, if I was retired with a nice little nest egg and needed a slow-down, San Antonio would be an excellent city to consider. Austin? Well, I don't have anything nice to say about it.

Hands down San Antonio, we have the Texas hill country and lakes to the north, fiesta Texas, sea world and much more outdoor activities. SA is less Humid and statistically safer.

@daveray5655

I lived in both cities. I never liked driving on the hills and San Antonio has a lot of those. The Houston Metro has amusement parks and since I'm vegan I can survive without SeaWorld. Houston also has over 360 parks and tons of lakes which means it has more to do. Not only that but there are more kinds of businesses and diversity so that means I can do more in Houston. The weather is not really a big deal for me as I really didn't notice much of a change, and I've only had a gun pulled on me in San Antonio and nothing in Houston. The real question isn't which city is objectively better but rather, which city is the best for you? For me, Houston was better but I'm sure as I get older, I'll probably move somewhere else to ensure I can maintain a good quality of living.

Houston and it’s not really that close. San Antonio’s weather is slightly better, not as unpredictable as Houston’s. However, Houston’s food scene is not only far superior to San Antonio’s but it’s also the greatest in the country. I mean people don’t realize Houston is in Texas so we have genuine amazing Texas BBQ, we also have classic southern cooking, we’re close to Mexico so have a combination of the greatest Tex-mex and genuine Mexican food in the whole country, we’re right next door to Louisiana and right on the gulf so we have endless varieties of fresh seafood, crawfish and the like and so many spots have a Cajun flare if that’s your thing, whether it be a seafood joint, Mexican restaurant or any other kind of spot. We’ve got a handful of restaurants that have popped up of New Orleans/French Creole that’s genuine because of so many people who moved to Houston following Hurricane Katrina decimating New Orleans in ‘05. Also Houston is the most diverse city in the country, more so than NYC, and we have countless authentic Asian cuisine from almost if not every country in Asia, especially Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese. We also are the King of Street Tacos (SA is a close 2nd, anyone who says Austin a joke.) As far as family friendly entertainment, Houston doesn’t have a shortage of that but San Antonio does have the big names (SeaWorld, Six Flags, The Alamo, and The River Walk is fairly known throughout the country.) as far as nightlife goes, Houston is up there with the likes of Atlanta with a great nightlife scene, SA cannot even compete with that. Public Transportation is equally trash throughout both cities though I will say as far as the inner downtown parts go, Houston is slightly better. Houston also has much more money, people with money, and more industry as well. We’re the leader in oil and natural gas, renewable energies, and we also have the biggest medical center in not only the country but the entire world. We lead the health industry in treatment and research or numerous cancer and treatments, mainly those of lung, pancreas, and prostate and so many others. Houston has the 2nd biggest port in all of the county, just behind NYC. All in all, much more opportunity and things to do in Houston, suburbs are much more affluent by and large as well in Houston. Houston is totally flat and rather ugly so I guess you could say San Antonio is slightly better looking of a city but that’s about that.

Anyone touting Houston should start with its food scene, which is mostly attributable to its being a global refuge for migrants. You’ll never get bored with Houston’s restaurants. San Antonio has Tex-Mex and BBQ, which is great, but the choices are meager after that. San Antonio’s Riverwalk area is the most walkable downtown in Texas, but very few people choose to live there, maybe because so many of the restaurants are geared toward tourists.

Damn, I was actually thinking of moving to Houston before watching this video. San Antonio sounds like the better option based on natural disasters, and less humidity. The city looks nicer than Houston, but there's more stuff to do around Houston. San Antonio wins, but it's not a landslide at all.

I live in the outskirts of Houston across the Fred Hartman bridge. But I'm looking to move to San Antonio. Traffic here In Houston is terrible, everyone is moving here, the crime is going up. There are homeless people everywhere in the city. It looks like the next liberal hell hole. One big plus is the job opportunities, you can literally quit and get a new job every week if you wanted to. So I gotta give them that. Other than that I'm looking forward to see what San Antonio has to offer. And as for diversity I'm fine being around Latinos and whites only since I'm Latino and don't really care for diversity if I'm being honest. As long as I'm around honest hard-working people and not people wanting to start shit for the dumbest things...I'm cool.

SA also has world a class art scene several arts districts, museum reach river district, 5 downtown historic theatres, the top rated perforning arts center in Texas which is the Tobin Center ranked as one of the best in the world and the new SA Philharmonic has taken shape. Houston however is stronger for high cultural offerings but San Antonio is no slouch.
