It's funny that I accidently realised that Jay Z is my favourite rapper. When I was introduced to Hip Hop in the late 90s to early 2000s, I was listening to Talib Kweli, Common, Mos Def, Dead Prez and the like. Around 2003 I started getting more into Jay Z and it was like listening to a perfect combination of Common, Pac and BIG. Around the late 2000s I found myself listening to his music everyday and I lost my mind for a second. How could I betray the greats I had told myself were superior? Lol. I just had to admit that he is just that good and the rest is history.
