First of all I love this little guy he is so adorable and I don’t think you guys were too involved. You stepped in when needed and it didn’t stress mamma out at all.
I agree. He's adorable. Just want to hug and cuddle him. I don't think you intruded on their bonding. They needed JR's help. He is soooo gorgeous!!!❤❤❤❤❤
This baby is lucky to be born in such a caring, and thoughtful family. So kind to wrap him in your own jacket so he could get warm for the first time since his birth. 62 lbs. He sure is tiny, but has a lot of gumption - that life force that helps him to keep on trying to get back up & going to his mom, though uncertain where that yummy.warm milk was at first. ❤
Hey folks, over the the last 45 years I've had dozens of babies. They've been from Wyoming bred production to world class show babies.. I commend you for your care of lil' flash man. He would not have survived with out your intervention. You took the right amount of work to ensure your heard survives. Dang proud that horse sense survives. You folks are true horsemen.
Nice post for HH to read! They def are very caring knowledgeable horse folks and I’m no horseman. But you can see the love and care. Especially when I saw what JR did with Oliver!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't know much about mama horses, but when I was nursing my baby I had an unquenchable thirst and appetite. Nursing burns a lot of calories. Congratulations on the sweet little boy.
Part of having domesticated animals to help us, is stepping in to help them when they need help. Your beautiful girl and her precious baby are safe, and that's what really matters. Thank you for sharing this precious little joy with us!!
i just have to say ...i find it a bit rude that people criticize you all for how you choose to treat YOUR horses and foals...you have ALWAYS been totally honest and forthcoming about everything and that's one main reason i subscribe and love your channel ❤🐴....o yea! i forgot to say how excruciatingly, scrumptious, delicious and irresistible that baby is! ...my choice for name could be... Bob's Biscuit or just of course Biscuit....since hes so scrumptious ! lol
I haven't seen anyone be rude but I'm new im not seeing anything wrong they are inside sheltered while bubs gets stronger the pen is bigger than a stall so she's not cramped they have food and water the pen is cleaned and they helped only when they needed to help I did the same when my cat birthed I'm glad I was sort of hovering slightly or I wouldn't of known a kitten was stuck and she needed assistance after I helped get him out I put him down let her do everything with the sack and I watched to see if he would make it or if I needed to step in again I didn't and that baby he just passed at age 12 people are so ridiculous deaths can occur if you don't help sometimes
Truth!!! Over a year ago I subscribed & noticed Emeri’s beautiful voice 🎶 and narration the moment she got a word in edgewise from 💁🏻♂️ JR … ( hee hee ☺️)
@@user-zt3hx1co8nEmery does have a beautiful singing g voice. I don't remember the video, but there was done where she was singing a song that she wrote with her sister when they were young. I don't remember enough of the details to be sure if giving you all of the correct info. I think I'll go back through older videos & add it to my saved ones if & when I find it.
To anyone who said you were too involved and should step back, they obviously have never seen videos of Thoroughbred births. I thought you all did a great job of only stepping in when help was needed.
Chablis' behavior towards him when eating is much like me during that first cup of coffee... Never tried raising my leg in a warning, might just try that with the grandkids.... 😂
I don't think you were "too involved" at all! You did just the right amount of watching and supporting. Bless you all! Jeez, that round pen duty is like a giant catbox you have stand inside, lol!
He was bored not preemie! 😂❤ People who say you were "too involved" probably have never been hands on in a foaling like this. Anyone who follows your family and their horses should trust that you all know what to do and when to do it! Trust is an important thing and your mares all trust you implicitly! Good job guys!
He's so adorable, tiny now, but I bet he will grow like a weed and become a big beautiful stallion some day ❤ He's like a diamond, small but dazzling! I would probably name him Sparkle (Sparky for his nick name) 😂❤
Little guy might not technically have been a preemie, but he sure arrived quite early. He should catch up, though. Adorable doesn't even begin to describe how gorgeous he is.
I keep thinking of him as Apricot Bellini. He is such an interesting color, it will be fun to see what color he ends up being. Sometimes little guys turn into strapping fellas.
Emerie, I think because of the way you train and are hands-on with all your horses, the family is part of the herd. Your mares accept your help without any fears.
This tiny boy is absolutely adorable. He is a miracle. He will become a strong and healthy boy when he grows up. He is a fighter just like mama. She is a sweet, loving and caring mama. Motherhood is so awesome. He is in very good hands. You are doing a fantastic job. Most important of all he is getting loads of care, love and affection from you and mama. Wish you all the best❤
He is beautiful. With all the love you all give him he will grow and thrive just like Oliver. I think his name should be Moët because he is champagne colored and his mom is named for a wine.
Not sure what is name will be,I keep saying Mighty,he’s small but mighty. I also looked up Bob meaning, in Germanic it means bright and fame. Of course Chablis is a French wine, it derives from the Chardonnay class of grapes.Just passing it along! He sure is a sweetheart and is absolutely in the best hands! Bless you all!!
I personally don't think y'all interfered too much at all. Y'all sat back quietly, watching and waiting. Only stepping in when Jr absolutely felt like he needed to. I watch some other horse channels and one in particular is always stepping in and interfering (imo). Y'all try to stay as natural as possible. 🤍🐎 He's absolutely precious btw! 🥰
I would just ignore the people who say you’re too involved with YOUR horses!! Experience is Always the best teacher and y’all have Years of experience!! I’m so happy he and mama both are doing Great!!
Thank you so much for telling us about this wee baby and comparing his size and weight to last year’s foals. Your care is amazing and you know your horse family so well. The critics need to button UP!. He is definitely thriving, thank you for sharing. BTW Nugget could be a good name- he is a little nugget, and he is Bob’s Golden Nugget too. Darling! You’ll find his best name and he may just tell you!
Cleaning the big round pen is similar to cleaning a kitty box. LOL Baby looks like he is doing very well. You watch, he will grow to be big strong and healthy. He is so cute now, but he will be a gorgeous man horse.
Isn't he the sweetest little guy!! ❤ I enjoy watching how each of you care for your horses with love, respect and years of experience....I always learn something new in your videos. 😊
He will grown much more with the colostrum milk. I think it's very good to make much contact with foals, so they're not afraid from humans, and you can create already a first bond.🥰
Hi Emori, He's looking so much stronger already. So many folks are worried that he will be small as an adult because he is small now. My son, my first born, was full term but only 6 lbs 5 oz and 21 inches long. Long and skinny, bony even. I had morning sickness for almost 6 months, I lost a lot of weight, could barely keep anything down. He gained 3 lbs during his first month and by the end of his second month was a healthy 11 lbs. But my son (now 48yo) is taller than his dad (5' 10") at 6' 1" and about 200 lbs. So folks stop worrying. Look at how he is latched on and nursing away at the end of the video. Chablis is a good mama, she is getting grain and special supplements for nursing mares so her milk will be rich. Already his skin isn't so wrinkly, he's filling out. It doesnt happen overnight. Give the little fellow a few weeks. Be patient.😊 If you want to do something instead of criticizing why don't you send up prayers for him and his mama.
Little dinky guy looks so cute and Mama is such a great mama. You folks are doing just fine in all that you are doing! Many comments will come your way as everyone has their own opion. You all are doing just fine!!!!
He's just adorable.. i watched the video you posted of his birth. Mum did a wonderful job until she spotted food and how she just left the little man in his sack for her human midwives to sort it. She did an amazing job and so did her humans who made sure the little man was up and fed. I spotted exactly how small he was when he stood under her. I cant wait to watch him grow I'm expecting him to be one big horse when hes fully grown. Xx
A Star Is Born 💫 He's so beautiful, I hope he looks like his daddy, so handsome 😍 And Chablis is such a good mama, I love how she nickers at the little guy so much ❤
No one should be commenting one way or the other. You both have enough experience to know what to do best. Just looking at your animals is enough to k ow how well they are cared for and how good their temperaments are. This little baby I think has your heart😊. Something is telling me he might end up being your little buddy❤
You need a bouncer. You had to toss a lot of good shavings because you couldn't bounce them free. A square or rectangle of wood or pvc pipe, then chicken wire stretched between the pipe. Prop it against the wall with the wheelbarrow at the bottom. Poo rolls down to the barrel, shavings fall threw to the ground. ❤ and I would check to see if he carries a champagne gene. He looks more like a amber champagne than a palomino. Super cute though!
I would keep a hay rack in there for her. It would give her something to do and for sure keep her in full milk. I had a sweet Momma who killed 2 of her foals by kicking. The one passed before we realized it was the Mom. The second I had to separate
Thank you so much for this update! Chablis and her little baby are so lovely and both are so beautiful. She truly is a good mommy to him. God bless you all and your beautiful fur babies🙏🏻🥰❣️
