There's a trick i did back then on mount zagoras where I faced the fence, I entered the memory chamber and exit, and i mashed my spacebar on while the map is still loading, to get to the other side before the fence could load. Could probably work on the Yorn one also, as you just need to be close enough to the mokoko seed. It worked for me for that one mokoko seed also behind the hay on the pleccia area.
@@marcoslimaleandro Those barriers are about number of hits only. So some classes can get through waaaaay faster than others. It's still an awful design that, tbh, I attribute to young developers. The idea was players would cooperate and it wouldn't take too long. In practice, it's terrible design. I have watched Smilegate slowly adjust their design philosophy and improve as the team builds experience. There are still absolute troll Mokoko conditions in newer continents, just not multi-hit barriers, but overall they've made a lot of QOL improvements and adjustments for the general experience. Raid design still seems to be "new devs make gate 1, senior devs make the final gate" because G1 has been disliked or outright hated in almost every raid other than Kakul Saydon (but it borrows many patterns from G3, so that might be part of the reason). And as the video pointed out, it is not designed in a way to readily welcome, accept, and keep new players. Especially in the Western regions where there is a lot of alternatives to choose from compared to competitors in Korea. It's better than it was a year ago, but the core issue of "raids that take skill are fun and satisfying" being linked to "new, inexperienced players will cause the raid to fail" gatekeeping is harder to solve. The learning Discords do help a bit, with that. Along with the one shown there are also region specific teaching Discords with a good amount of activity as well. Community band-aid on a problem stemming from the developers.
Took a break from ffxiv and sold my soul to lost ark. Its terrifying how much of a full time commitment is required to stay relevant in the game. I run 6 destroyers to maximize gems but i still feel behind. Got one character echidna ready but the amount of effort and time it took me to not only be ready for it but have the mats ready to advance hone was unfun. Spent the last week relearning ffxiv and surprisingly ok with the fact i only played my top two characters and over capped rested in the rest. Will continue to play lost ark but will probably limit to 1 or 2 characters and prep for dawn trail. Great vid. It hit home. Wish i saw what you saw at 1k hours. Took me 4k to realize i have stockholm syndrome with LA

I am a veterean of the game,whit 4,3k hours. In the begining the game was easy not much gatekeep,then I fell into the trap of making 6 characters and focusing to much on my 5 alts,forgeting my main,there I started experienced gatekeep. After months I realize how stupid I was and I stop treating my alts like my main,the gatekeep stop. Since then I casualy play 10h a week,and I can say my main can enter today evry single legion raid whitin seconds,cause I treat her whit the respect of a main character. I am not f2p,but all the money I spend its on,skins,aura and ark pass. I never ever buy gold or materials whit real money. As an advice to new players. Dont be stupid like me,plau smart,your main is the king,the alts are the pessants
As someone with almost 4000 Hours into Lost Ark. Over time from being someone that used to hyper gate keep, I find myself moving away from that mentally and almost a complete 180 shift and helping new players to see the raids. I've also found myself outright deleting 8 of my 11 characters I had. some as high as 1600. Just to make time to play other games. I picked up FFXIV for the first time about 5 or 6 months ago and I've been having an unbelievably good time there in comparison. Sprouts are treated the complete opposite as mokoko's and it was then I instantly realized that yeah Lost Ark isn't going to be there very long if we keep this up as a community. While it's here, I'm going to enjoy it the best I can because this raiding combat experience really isn't even close to being topped in my opinion at least for now. Loved the video by the way, really shows the issues of the new player experience to a more seasoned player.
Glad you’re enjoying XIV! While it isn’t as intensive as Lost Ark, I would recommend working your way into the Ultimate raiding scene to experience the potential of XIV’s battle content.
Its not the community thats bad , its the conditions we play under that make it not viable without sacrificing your own gold/time etc. i d love to help and people come back and learn even if its only for a while , but i cant , i will lose this much gold , this much mats and prog etc which we cant afford cuz of the Pace . just one example.

This video was well thought out, and was very well presented and i agree whole heartedly. I waited years to play this game after watching the reveal trailer well over 10 years ago. I didn't mind the flow of game but lost ark worked so hard against it self. Once you were in, the circle of people you wanted to play with kept getting smaller and smaller (cards sets ,gear score, elixirs, etc..) while alienating new players. The new players is what keeps live services games alive, feels bad that the game might actually die because the combat is better any other mmo out there.
I wish i could tell you why i fell out of love with Lost Ark, but the closest i can come up with is, it just didn't feel fun anymore. My friends changed, from not minding failing to being downright displeased and annoyed to people who made mistakes. The game does something to you and only the utterly kind people pull through. It's like you said, people will not accept anything other than absolute perfection. Sometimes i see videos on LA and it always looks like it gets better everytime. New classes, new raids, new places... but i know what i have to look forward to if i go back, and that is what stops me. So many different games, excellent games out there, to endure the pains of Lost Ark.
Quitting the game a few months ago, after 2+ years of relentless grinding, was actually one of the best life decisions I ever made. As was said back when it was released, Lost Ark is only about combat and boobs; the rest of the game sucks. While the grind is sometimes fun, it gives you so little that it’s not worth any of your time. Good luck to all who stay in this circle of nonsense.
My experience as a 6000 hours vet, my account was falsely banned back in Jan'24, Appealed denied, support ignored. So i created a new account just to chill down my addiction to the game. Yesterday went to apply a G4 Brel (Normal), was accepted my gear 1525, raid leader went on to start the raid and one of the member canceled it and said "No way I am going to carry this low rank dude", being toxic, the raid leader kicked him and accepted another one and then one by one people quit the lobby. This is how toxic the community is. Even tough people in the lobby have more than enough DPS to carry 1 new player in their party, but so many of them do not want to, even tough it is only a brel G4 (Normal) where 3 person can just carried the entire gate but people doesnt want to. The game definitely in its sinking ship, its sinking ever faster in the west. Major problem is its community but cant really blame them when the core system is overall flawed, expensive RNG system, never ending honing, 18 raids a week. Fomo. Too many problem that cant be described in 1 post. RIP Lost Ark 2021 - 2024 (Maybe 2025)
Your response should have been "if I die I will pay you the bus price". Unfortunately too many people just want a free carry when they don't contribute anything to the clear so I kinda understand why a person might leave.
I experienced this crap and it's why as a grown man I do not play games with grown babies. It's annoying, because not everyone wants to no life a game but you have to blame Lost Ark, they created this. Wish it was still carefree fun how it was when the game first dropped and no one knew anything.
@@embersarcade My group of extrenely hardcore vet players is kinda in this doomer mode. SmileGate has this event for Lost Ark that they host every six months to sorta hype people up about future contents/game direction. The next one is supposed to be this June/July. If this one is bad I'm pretty sure half of my static is gone. Western Lost Ark is bleeding players FAST.
I really appreciate how unbiased you managed to be with your comments. Lost Ark feels to me like a giant missed opportunity. Raiding is peak entertainement, more than any other MMO that I ever played, but it's so much work to get to that entertainement that it ends up not worth the hassle. I feel like If you remove 95% of the checklist systems, remove RMT shop, get a healthy stream of new players and have a tiered reclear system to tone down the gatekeeping, the game would seriously be one of the best out there.
It's a Korean game intended for a Korean audience. That culture and its players have a significantly different perspective on (MMO) gaming, so I'm not surprised that Korean style MMO's rarely become 'big' outside of (roughly) Asia. I never got to play the game; it was banned in my country due to its lootbox system or some such. If games like these are ever to make it 'big' in the West, then they should release a version that isn't monetized to death. Granblue Fantasy Relink is a very interesting showcase for this; I actually enjoyed it, and especially _without_ pointless monetization or excessive RNG elements. It feels a lot more like a stylized and faster paced Monster Hunter than it does a gacha game.
Apples and bananas, Relink isn't and never was meant to be a gacha game. Completely standalone, full price spinoff, similar to Stellar Blade if it was tied to Nikke and Granblue Versus.
honostly i got so many hours in lost ark and i agree with how people think that time is money in a literal sence but now that i got a guild static adn we do the current endgame raids i dont have that pressure to come in and do literally everything i do eventually go a bit hard to push to the next big content ilvl but thats about it i will say tho the perception that people had at the start where you need like 6 characters ended up not really being true tbh most people just default to like 2/3 at best. funny enough the reason i even started lost ark was because of my love for the korean asthetic and the draught in 14
The game is definetly 10x better with friends and statics. It saves you hours of being either in lobby simulator or in bad groups who fail raids. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone who wants to "solo" raid with randoms. Btw. he didnt mention anything about the upcoming solo raid content. Curious how that will play out.
i put 7k hours into it of pure misery before i finally quit for good earlier this year. my life became infinitely better after i quit and my depression was so severe during it, because of it. Worst community, and most predatory game ive played. it was amazing gameplay and insanely addictive, but everything else was misery and not fun

I never completely knew the definition of "gatekeeping" until you described it in this video. I pretty much did what you did but in WoW. I'd just start my own lobby and recuit players. Literally the only way to play certain games...
I came to the same conclusion at the same number of hours and that point there were not even as many ways to progress as fast as now by the time you started playing. RIP Lost Ark. thanks for sharing
This video summarizes everything that I love/hate about MMOs. I had the exact same experience repeated in GW2, BDO, and Sword of Legends which all had wonderful combat but marred by systems upon systems that made the players only care about the rewards rather than the intrinsic value of playing the game. It is such wasted potential. It makes me appreciate how fortunate we are in XIV for both the design and GCBTW that we can actually just raid for the sake of raiding.
Awesome video and props to you for making your own learning group and willing to take newer player. I've managed to get away from the game after 4k leaving away all the mats that I accumulated seeing how the gatekeep cycle will never end at the high end content. I miss when lost ark is a fun game and not a job.
I like how you have truly seen a veterans perspective in chapter 3 about the new players. We want to help them but most of them don't want to learn and just want a carry. Which sucks cause the player base that gets left behind just cant complete the raids by themselves anymore. Causing them to gatekeep each other harder than veterans gatekeep each other.

here I am watching this video with 4000+ hours into the game! I have a roster of 6 characters.. 2 of my chars are i level 1625 with +25 weap on both of them. As of now, I have only been playing with 3 of my chars.. cant take 6 chars anymore.. to much for me, Im tired.. lol i think im going crazy! you are absolutely right with this video.. sadly but true. I hope they can make a come back. but not putting my hopes up.
the game is enjoyable up to 1610. Then it becomes a shitshow. The honing, elixirs and transcendence systems gold cost is insane. I think I spent more thank 500k gold just to get from 1600 to 1620. Elixirs and transcendence surely cost me at least 200k more
Yeah getting to the very current endgame requires a lot of grinding or paying money. However express pass can get you to 1610 easily, which technically also allows you to the latest raid thaemine. I agree however that elixiers are an absolute garbage system, might be the worst game design system I have ever encountered in any video game.
@@salzberg9460 3 characters to lvl 2s and main has chest, pants and shoulders on max lvl 7... so yeah. With the calculator it's infinitely better than elixiers. Especially since everyone has the same level of progression in the end. Getting elixiers to BIS is basically impossible without being super lucky or spending millions and millions of gold. Spending like 500k on your main for a 20% damage boost with transcendence BIS is very fine IMO. Also you can already grind the mats with your lower alts on Thaemine normal. Grinding epic elixiers with alts in Vodlis normal is useless as soon as you switch to legendary... Everything is better with transcendence :D
thats why im waiting at 1600 loading up on gold until all the nerfs from loaon come, don't think 1600+ content is doable as free to play like myself without spending money or having a static that can carry me, I'm enjoying doing valtan vykas on alts (max 30min) and akkan, brel, kaya on main 1600 till then.
The game requires a significant investment of time and money, but the return on investment for new players is underwhelming! Lost Ark isnt even a top 3 MMORPG, let alone a very popular game in the West. Unfortunately, this cannot be changed because the old players would have to lose their investment in order for it to make sense for new players to play Lost Ark. Lost Ark has decided to serve its existing paying customers as long as it is profitable, but this will not lead to more players, especially new players, starting to play Lost Ark.

All your criticisms are correct but as someone who quit ffxiv for lost ark I am sticking with it until it eoses purely because lost ark hasn't forgotten about the G in MMORPG. I considered coming back for dawntrail but the contents of the combat live letter coupled w/ being told to wait for 8.0 for something to be done about classes solidified my decision. If there was an alternative with comparable combat/classes I'd stop doing 6 characters of raids and dailies every week, but since nothing comes close I'll continue putting up with it until solo raids/summer loa on/tier 4 (???) either save the game or kill it... Kind of unfortunate that the genres stale enough for lost ark to be an appealing option but what can you do?
You’re right, the moment-to-moment gameplay of Lost Ark is the best in the business, but that just isn’t enough for me to stick around. I want the wholistic experience to be rewarding, but Lost Ark is skewed heavily towards its combat at the cost of everything else.
I think I'm just really grateful to be playing a mmo that wants people like me around honestly. After seeing every part of ffxiv I liked get removed over and over for 3 whole expansions I'm willing to tolerate more tediousness than I should just to get to play a game that cares about players who like unique classes and dynamic combat. Even if you decide to never do a chaos dungeon ever again as long as you live I would recommend hell mode, as an ex-ultimate raider I think they're really fun.
@@funnycathehecan echo his suggestion on hell modes. It retains a lot of the fun of the game while avoiding most of the negative aspects and hamster wheel grind that is the vertical progression. The community is generally very welcoming to newer hellmode raiders too. You post a learning lobby for valtan/clown and there will almost always be helpers joining to show you the ropes.
i had 3k hours and finally quit ,the raids too unforgiving the party search a time sink. I had my fun maybe spent too much time and money ,but oh well. You did go a bit too harsh on world (its beautiful) and the collectibles i liked collecting them even tho there were quite a few shit ones. Anyway this video is like a little trowback for me, recalling good and bad emotions. Could shit on lost ark more but cba, waitting on gw2 video already know it will bang
7k hour day 1 vet here. I have my 10x thaemine clear title. this week I only raid logged to do 2 out of 18 raids (just to provide a body for what's left of my static). I'm tired boss. great video. hope someone at AGS sees it, maybe conveys things to smilegate. i doubt it though😢
one issue with making learning parties now days, you don't know what the pug is doing. I remember making a brel g4 normal learning party and did it for 5-6 hrs. because i just took anyone. our dps does not match what the pugs were doing at all. so we saw all the mechs and did the fight like the old guides. the process was fun though. then i joined a reclear party. Skipped so many mechs. watched 3 ppl on the floor dragged through the fight. and my reaction was, i can;t believe i spend that many hours progging this face roll.

True!, true!,True!!!! brother. like it is a wild that people call people like Cauyth and Kamina doomers when they perceive the meteor incoming and everybody's getting their fair warning a week ahead to get into the bunker and nah'ers just sit there and they think they're gonna survive the impact until it hits. I really wish they can get their act together at this point though but I doubt it. So when the game and NA servers shut down because they're shaving their hardcore player base between all the legion raids and they don't give us anything else to do. I for one will be looking forward towards private servers to play this game in West without the p2w and I even will even throw some funds for the game to it and to make sure PVP doesn't die like retail!!!!
Interestingly enough I watched this video just as my 1st install of the game finished. Throne and Liberty enters open beta tomorrow (i think), and im looking for a game to invest some down time in. I find it interesting that 1 is all pve and the other is supposedly all pvp. Both have interesting combat mechanics. Too bad I have not seen a happy medium between the two.
Lost Ark is getting a massive update tomorrow, which should result in a more player friendly environment. I will cover those changes as soon as I can, but I’m currently working on a comprehensive review of Dawntrail, which is pushing 10,000 words.
Yeah I quit a long time ago because while I don't want to be carried through raids, I definitely don't have the patience or energy to make groups. I'm not that kind of player. I'm better and less stressed as merely a cog in the wheel, not the person who turns it.
if they want this game to make a comeback they need to remove 1 shot mechanics from raids so people can get carried and not have to deal with gatekeep,otherwise this game is only for a certain category of gamers,casual players cant prog hours to learn something,you play the game to have fun not torture....
The game is filled with bots, RMT, and systems that basically force you to pay few 100 euros a month or grind on six characters every day 8 hours a day just to attempt the latest raid. There are also paid boosts and a gatekeeping community. And a no easy way for new players to get into the game.
I never understood ARPGs having "endgames". I've played most ARPGs that have ever released on PC. Most of them did not have multiplayer systems, but even they tended to have "endgames". The endgames were usually just repeating the game over and over and over. ARPGs are fun, but not fun enough to try-hard so hard as you are describing the expectations of Lost Ark players. I will probably play Lost Ark one day, but the moment I finish whatever storyline there is I would probably uninstall.
I wouldn’t describe Lost Ark as an ARPG. Diablo IV would fit into that category, but Lost Ark’s only resemblance to the ARPG genre is, in my opinion, its isometric camera placement. It is truly an MMO. One of the MMOs of all time, you might say.
If you just play Lost Ark for the Story and the initial leveling it is indeed closer to an ARPG. As soon as you get to the endgame and start the (in my opinion) best content, the raids, you realize it is closer to an MMO. Btw. just playing the story is worth it imo. It's basically like a "Diablo light" for free. Just don't use any express passes on your first character and play the game by leveling up from 1 to 50.
That part about doing the world content alone really struck what I've thought about the failure to adapt the system for these latecomers. In the beginning when everyone was progressing together, it really was special. But bow instrad of enhancing the experience, it takes it from being even neutral to a deeply negative experience. Its sad they dont go back to address it or even make it relevant. Thats one more sin on the playerbase, I guess...
i would agree with the majority of points u mentioned and in addition this game made a great job by providing super good catch up systems and acceleration events but sadly its unplayable without a guild or small community (unless u r a super casual player) this is due to the high difficult raid design that force players to be selective towards who they should invite, sadly this is a pve focused game and made for a niche that enjoy semi-hardcore raiding and beyond, the devs are preparing a solo raiding mode that wll be released this summer (from voltan to ivory) which super sick in my opinion for new players and casuals, some even suggest that it will be a jump start server 2.0 with massive investment in promoting the game so we hope that we will see this game improves, because beside the fact that its a pay to win dogshit, i really never had a better gameplay experience in another mmo no matter how behind i am if u think about it that way (i never spend a single dolar btw)

TOOKI ISLAND WAS LIT BACK IN THE OLDEN DAYS OF GAME LAUNCH FOR QUITE A WHILE. But yea that old content does not age well in lost ark. Man I do miss the days of tooki islands with 20+ people on it. It might be dead content now but it was actually fun when people were playing the game and all stuck on the same content. I feel like they could revive islands and their vast expanse terriorities with events and rewards but they just have too much focus on raid content and vertical progression
If they built the game as an actual MMO, this could be one of the best game ever but nah, SG totally double down in Legion Raids, double down into "Hard" raids. I wonder is it massively multiplayer online game or in actuality it's a legion raid lobby online game. What a sham
i put 3000 hours in 1 year while working 5 days a week and quit at brelshaza. they just held the characters too long for me and content is too hard. the game needs a built in deadly boss mods add on that explains what to do. the game requires wayy to many guides in order to play outside of the game. even end game guardian raids need guides. just silly. love the game tho and afraid it might shut down in NA
the game is fun, the grind of weekly is tiring..to to much vertical system. with tons and tons of rng build in. and tat is a put off.. and raids wipes just cause 1 person mistake is kind of hmmmm

It had the most combat system ive ever played on any isometric game the weight behind some skills were so perfect but sadly the amount of bots , rmt players , toxicity in raids , gatekeeping , hours of dailies and weeklies if you dont wanna fall behind made the game feel more like a job than a hobby... Such a shame. Oh and ags ofc they handled the game horribly
Conclusion, play ar your own pace and find your own community that is willing to play with you. Personally, I think I don't feel this pressure due to thefact that I got friends to play with, and yes...I freakin stat my own lobbies

historically MMOS dont do well in JP it was never close to being main stream genre heck PC gaming wasn't a mainstream gaming platform for JP till "recently" lost ark was limping in JP since the first year a good portion of their players were also from CN the only notable MMO is/was "popular" is FF and PSO most people prefer "fast food games" like apex in and out quick game no long term commitment works with how their days are paced if u can look away from the doom posting for a sec u will notice in the west Lost ark as a Kmmo a niche within a niche is doing pretty good for what it is it just seems like some people walked into a casino expecting it to be a zen garden not saying the game doesn't have a shit ton of issues (notable ones elixirs/bots/content fatigue etc) but mainly referring the monetization model which is as normal and common as it can be for a kmmo all of this said i agree with some points in the video hopefully we get those issues dealt with and good job on the editing
Quit after thaemine and never looked back haha takes either waaaaay too much time or money. Still has some of the best gameplay, combat, and raids ive seen. However, the overall f2p nature of the korean mmo makes it too grindy and predatory. Raids are impossible unless u have a static or are way overgeared. Have so much more time now and had my fun since release :) the first 3 months and valtan were some of the best mmo times ive had
I think it's fair to wait until June 2024, for the LOA On Summers. This one is gonna either save the game, or doom it probably. We already know it's going to be the biggest LOA On with the biggest patch ever for the game, so i guess let's see what happens there before.
True, it's a Live or Die situation but only for us in the EU/NA. This game is too big in KR to die just like that. i am 4k hours now and this LOA Summer will be my reason either to quit or to get back more into this game. I don't mind if it fall down, PoE 2 is coming so i gonna spend my time there i guess ^^
@@embersarcade Mmh not really. It's because they announced super big changements and that's what is going to have an impact in a way or another. The 2 most importants are the Solo content (from Valtan to Ivory Tower, changing completly the aspect of the game, fixing gatekeeping too i guess), and the 3rd awakening system, adding like 60 spells in the game (and reworking engravngs (i think)).

Thank fuck I started ff14 this week I remember what an MMORPG was meant to be and the fun that come with it.

I'm surprised to hear you say that the playerbase is the most toxic/unforgiving of any game. I think the experience of "newer" players (even including those like you with 1k hours) is very different from people like me with 5k+ hours. I hardly ever notice any toxicity. The only time I can remember seeing toxicity recently is when I would go back and try to help new players for fun in an older raid. Sometimes I look at the lobbies for older raids and it seems like the wild west. Unfortunately, it takes too long for newer players to get to the endgame (and obtain the unrealistic requirements vets have) to play with the people that are actually kind.
1000h its rookie numbers, you have basically never experieced the true lost ark endgame, but even from plaing so little you understand. The game will die precisely because its too punishing to let new players in to play with.Rehersals were a good option for them but sadly they didnt give progression.

@@embersarcade keep in mind when I refer to end game I'm talking true current endgame at 1630+ not alt territory at 1610. For that you are expecting to clock between 4-8k hours since release or have heavy invested irl money. When you experience that you can truly understand why lost ark will die. it's not that you are wrong in your observations it's just that you haven't really experienced the true extend.

9k hours player here, I agree with all you said besides one "game is dying". Over all you are right about everything but I can't say game is dying, like not really. To be fair currently after Thaemine release I see quiet a lot low roster players in latest Guardians which wasn't a thing after Ivory Tower release and it's basically people who play maybe month or so, like 100-150 roster gamers. And I can tell they are new since I play with a meter and I see they are not doing dmg so they don't really know how to proper play the game and boss fights itself. Mainly thing about game is dying comes from a fact how hard it's to catch the end game as a new player. You need or moths of grind to get at least 1610 or you need swipe 1-2k dollars as RMT through 3rd party websites to be able reach there in week. And if we talk about legit RMT which is cash shop you should double this amount of moneys. As well as 60% of online is a bots. Not rn since was huge ban wave and it's at 36k peak online atm. I personally think real players something like 25-27k online. And to be fair this amount of bots showing how alive game is. Like if it will be dying than bots will be much less. But since there's tons of bots it means there's a lot of people who ready to risk a ban and do rmt gold from this bots. And need to mention Lost Ark is in dark times rn. I mean even in korea people are dooming the game, even if rn current state of the game is fine and game still alive, people feel like it's dying because future of Lost Ark is dark and no one wants to put his time in game which can die tomorrow. Everyone waiting for next LOA ON and words from new director of the game and see future path of the game. I think after it we can say if game will start dynig or not. Because if future is dark than even me as person who invested past 2 years 24/7 in the game will leave it. Again western version just follow the path of korea so state of the game total depends on the korea situation. Publisher(Amazon) is shit, It's true, but I think they just follow rule milk while you can, since they probably as well see that current situation in Korea is dark , so they won't invest in the game resources if in next 6 months game will 95% chance die. They are probably waiting and watching and depends on future direction of Lost Ark or will milk it to it's death or will keep better course. Btw nice editing, very good video!
At first I disliked your video - as the things you said combined with your title made me disagree. However, after half of the video you finally started to say the things that I agree to. I know Lost Ark is not easy to get into, but as soon as you were able to survive the hard early game and getting into raids - the game actually starts to be really good. As I only made a break of 1 1/2 month of the game I do have the advantage of having no problems getting into most raid groups - I met a lot of nice people in the game with who I love to Raid together. Some people might say the game feels like homework or a second job, I quite disagree. I really have a lot of fun in this game, but I do agree it is important to find the correct community with people you can socialize and play together. Pugging raids every week can be a lot of work...I really hope that smilegate and AGS will change the game in a very positive way for newer players and improve some of the games progression systems in the near future.

1k hours , still rookie numbers, you should look at these people that has 7k-10k hours up and still defend this game. 😂 Jk aside, yeah except its good combat, classes , raid and character design, this is a terrible p2w game , every system around it is incentivize spending or grind a long time. Raid is very punishing with oneshot mechanic and pattern that cause people to gatekeep a lot and create a very toxic community. This also incentivize people to use illegal method such as botting and RMT gold from g2g to gear up their characters.
I think you could easily play this game more casually, especially if you do not care about the very current endgame. If that is the goal however then yes, it is pay2win or pay2progress.
