Just a note for you, I am an automotive tech. Right, Left, Front And Rear are always from the point of sitting in the drivers seat. When you stated where the long bolts go on the diff cover you said left cause it was your left. When in actuality it was the right side of the diff cover. Hope this helps. Thanks for a great video. My bad if you were holding the diff cover with the front pointing to the rear.
This is why Kevin Talbot is so popular...He's very direct, and doesn't need pop ups re-explaining what it is he needs to do. Not sure how many times you said 6s when you're working on a 8s vehicle. I couldn't get through the video....haha
Thank you for the info. Sadly I lack the ability, facilities or equipment to make EPIC videos! 😅 Lol to be fair KT has more cash, time & has been doing it a long time. With over 1M subscribers, now can pay someone to edit his videos because he's so busy & editing can be a chore! I will try to do better 🙂
@@Wizzdom.motorsport to be honest i think the guy above may have some valid points, he could do with learning some comunication skills tho... My thoughts were more along the line of - thank you for providing a full un-edited video, was good to see you make the mistakes most people including the hero KT make so we can learn from them. i got exactly the information i wanted from this video. thanks and feel free to add more of the same - side note music is on point!
@@Wizzdom.motorsport keep doing what your doing, Talbot is entertaining for a few minutes, but shouting into the camera all the time and cuts to our Kev fist pumping a landing repeatedly is so force faked and cheesy as it gets. Don't get me wrong, sharp cuts in editing are great for getting the subs and hits from the goldfish gen*tm.
Thank you so much! I have lots of footage but editing is difficult for me. Yes the "big boys & girls" have the powerfull computers & editing software & I have my phone to film & edit with 😅. On the upside I have lots of room for improvement. I will keep going & your words mean a lot! 😊
I noticed that turning was really difficult with really heavy oil in the front. I went to 500k in the front to give better turning circle. Front=500k Mid=ear plugs & a bit of 20mil Rear=500k & ear plug Drives great for what I use it for which is all round use but mainly bashing! 😁
Cool, thanks for reply. I'm gonna change all the oils and fluids. Even 500k seems pretty heavy for front, i was gonna go like 100k front and rear.... i only bash and will never race. Have you done any other mods?
Yea please do. I have just ordered a max6 exc and some different spurs and pinions. I'll pic up some oils when I can but I think that's all for now. I'll upgrade as things break. Look forward to your next vid. Subscribed.
Hi Chris 👋 The broken teeth would have gone down the little hole into the centre shaft area. You will need to seperate the rear bulkhead to access the broken bits of teeth. The Traxxas manual shows how to separate the rear bulkhead or the Traxxas RU-vid page has a good video on how to do it too. I hope this helps. 🙂
Easiest way to see if u have 6s or 8s Xmaxx is look on bottom of truck The 8s XmAxx has a 8 printed in one of valleys on chassis. 6s truck doesnt say anything. No need to strip the truck down to find out what version u have
🤣 Which valley!?? If it were true that would be great! 😀 but I don't believe you. Unfortunately I haven't seen an 8 anywhere on the chassis (I have 4 trucks & clean them often looking very closely) 😅. 🤣 Do you have a picture of what you're talking about? There is "8s" written on the 8s tyres but not on the chassis that I have seen (I could be wrong). The 6s chassis is the same part number as the 8s & only the rear upper & lower bulkheads are a different part number.
When I got my 8s version the front tyres ballooned & didn't wheelie that easy. With my 6s X-maxx there is no centre diff & my front tyres don't balloon with full throttle. So I added the earplugs to my 8s to reduce the diff action & it worked. 😀 I don't recommend totally locking the diff if you bash hard! What I have used has been perfect.
Thanks Gabe 😊 The diffs will hold depending on your gearing & if you land a backflip on full throttle, that will kill most diffs eventually. My other video shows the effect with the Arrma Notorious 6s doing backflips 🤣.
@@Texascudaguy Can you explain youself? What do you do with your X-maxx? Some owners like me jump & bash their X-maxx (with more power). I can go up on 2 wheels easily (front 2, rear 2 or even the side 2 wheels 🤣) & have better control. In the wet or on the dirt or loose ground I can drift with ease. Before I would rip tyres easily as a wheel "diffed out". Thickening up the diffs reduces the chances (I have not ripped another tyre) I don't race my "basher X-maxx" so open or loose diffs are useless to me on this X-maxx. It's a toy! Lol people can do as they please with their Rc. 😊
@@Wizzdom.motorsport if you lock up rear or front that side wil make both wheels spin the same speed which means one tire wil slip and that way get destroyed quicker
@Daan Zoomer We're not completely locking the diffs. I am increasing the fluid viscosity in my diffs. They all still function as differentials. With a loose or open rear diff it's easy to blow out a rear tyre as one tyre grips, get all the power sent to the wheel off the ground & goes BOOM! 😂 Doing the changes, try as I might I don't blow tyres (unless I am using stock diff fluids). I will keep doing what I'm doing, my tyres & bank balance thank me! 😁
