I doubt you’ll see this Levy, but I genuinely hope you do well in all your adventures, particularly those related to tournaments and getting the GM title
I love having his coach do the streams, then watching Hikaru break down his thoughts about the game and then Levy giving you his own thoughts and perspectives.
@@reckingcrew2277actually their is a reason, he has had a previous issue where he started talking immediately and recording actually cut out 1-2 seconds of the beginning so in the video he’s talking mid sentence. He does the stare thing to prevent that.
As a 1400 rated otb player, I have no where near the amount of deep calculation capability that 2000+ has. This level is genuinely so chaotic; sometimes playing beautiful sequences, while also sometimes blundering in 1 move. How Levy thinks about all of this is genuinely fascinating to me

From someone who knows, not at all from chess playing, but music: ... Sleep deprivation assaults one's executive function abilities. Particularly your ability to look and think ahead. A good night's sleep is often worth more than the practice that takes away from it, assuming that's even what takes away from it...
Levy I hope you don't fail to appreciate how genuinely good you are at chess, much better than a very large percentage of people. The journey to GM might be long, or whatever I don't know, but you got this.
I was really, really curious how Levy would handle a setback after some initial highs. This was fantastic, focusing on the goal rather than the step and realizing it is a journey, not an event is key. Great job Gotham, you've put yourself in a good mental position for this, you can handle wins, know how to win, and handle losses. The rest is just the grind.
We're proud of you Levy! You have done so much for the chess community and are an inspiration for those of us who are reinventing ourselves after being "to old". You were an inspiration for me to go back to school at a time when my friends are sending their kids to college. Keep it up and know we're rooting for you!!
b4 as a clearance sacrifice is crazy. The point is easy to see in hindsight, you just want to fianchetto the bishop and need to move both b pawns before the bishop blockades them. The crazy part is that you have time to waste 2 pawn moves and retain the advantage.
Not been your fan since what I felt was commercialisation of your channel but totally agree about it being a long journey and wish you the best. I do hope you are truly going for a GM title and it is not another clickbait. Bon voyage.
The most difficult part of the game is to learn how to deal with setbacks and (even harder) losses in a way that will make you stronger. Kudos for openly sharing that difficult journey and good luck for you road to GM!
Always happy to see recaps with the Gotham, straight from the source! The live board may have the eval bar, but it's insightful to see exactly what you were thinking in certain situations. It may be a long road, but you've got this!
Between the Botez tournament and Levy's tournaments, I'm really enjoying the recaps of very good human-level chess. Can't always relate to a super GM game.
I love this Levy. You're so inspirational to everyone in any circumstance. Never stop chasing your dreams even when you already have everything that can make any single person happy. True happiness comes from the chase of a goal, not the goal itself. That is only temporary happiness. Stay strong the journey will be a hard one, but i think you know that. I know you have a passion to become a GM and it is a strong passion. With any passion comes emotions don't let those emotions blur what your passion yearns for. I dont like that Levy.
