Check the domain name registry for solar panels, they change every 3 or 4 years to avoid insurance and lawsuit cases involving roof leaks. Insurance companies try splitting 50 50 responsibility between roofers and solar panel companies for repairs. You need to install them on free stands in the yard, not a roof that needs to be accessed for inspections and repairs.

I have never understood how docusign, which is a computer-generated signature, can be used as legal proof of a person signing a contract? Isn't a signature pen to paper physically?

I’m so sick of solar people calling me everyday and coming to my home at least once a week! I can’t stand them!! They always say they’re from “PG&E.” They say they work for our local gas and electric company, which is totally false!! How can we report them?? I did door to door sales with AT&T years ago and we would always identify ourselves right away. We were much more professional than any solar reps I’ve ever met!!

i had a solar company estimate a solar installation at more than 50000 dollars for a tiny flat roof in NYC. It would end up being more expensive than my electricity bill. I will watch and wait until it becomes cheaper to install.

I'll let the electric company work on solar panels to produce electricity if they haven't already. No need to damage my roof and deal with front-loaded expenses that don't really save much money long term with solar panels.

It takes 2 decades to pay off the solar . People would think energy sector would be a little better at paying people vs having them finance it for 20+ years until you see a return

Some of these solar companies want you to do using a bunch of loan docs just to get an estimate. Sun run through Costco wanted me to docusign a bunch of documents just to get a price estimate and have some contractor to come to my house to check my panel to see if they could install panels. I told them no after they started getting pushy. Cancel all the consultation. Why am I signing anything just to get a price?

The problem with solar as a whole is it’s a whole new bill, and you can’t stop paying your electric bill. So solar unfortunately is pointless due to the companies not allowing you to own the panels outright. It’s really a scam that doesn’t solve any problems because you are not permitted to actually own the panels, otherwise solar energy would be the future for how most of us get energy, and of course still paying the electric bill. Just remember that, if you get solar, all you’re doing is locking yourself into another bill and a contract that you can’t get out of, once again mentioning you can’t cancel your electric bill.

I personally feel that zero tax dollars should go towards residential solar. I believe that the money is better spent on commercial projects with batteries which will in the long run benefit everyone.

I was a solar salesman when they first came out in California for maybe 1 year bouncing around different solar companies to later figure it was a huge scam which i didn't want any part of. Heads up, If salesman has to come to your door and tell you about a product that saves you money then it's a 100 percent scam.

If you didn’t call a solar, windows, housekeeping, HVAC, landscaping, etc… sales rep out for an estimate, NEVER let them or any other stranger into your house. These frauds take years to unravel and when they’re cornered they’ll file for bankruptcy or disappear.

I did a cost analysis on solar panels. I wouldn't break even until seventeen years passed. By then, they would most likely need to be replaced.

This is the reason why I'm hesitant to install solar panels in my home. This industry is currently under-regulated, and pretty much a free-for-all.

I get calls once a week for solar panels, but none of the companies wants to rent my roof space per sq ft.

Window Replacement companies, roofing, solar, etc they market to the Senior citizens and then get there slick sales people in the home and after hours of "Presentation" They get a sell from and elderly person that doesn't know better. There told by the sales people they don't need multipe bids. you have to buy TONIGHT or you don't get the special price etc etc etc. Something needs to be done to stop the predatory behaviour.

A reputable company will not install panels on a roof in that tertible condition. In fact even if the roof is halfway decent they'll make you reroof before they install panels

There should be jail time attached to these types of crimes if there isn't already. Many corporate entities are doing everything they can to be in a position to put a lien on privately held real estate and elderly people are the prime targets in these schemes. Congress needs to legislate strong controls and penalties on this type of elder abuse and real estate theft. It's just another attempt to concentrate all the wealth of the country in a few hands.
