Sorry sweetheart I'm white as a grain of white rice, but I grew up with the show effing love it. I agree with some people that have been on the show stop seeing race and start seeing family and love.
@@targetedplantsguy9481 I’m sorry if the comment was misunderstood. It was not so target race but highlight the black audience members knew the song and were singing to it. This was a representation of black HBCU shows which was rare in its time. That’s all that was said. But i do agree that with race aside the show was loved by many.
@@targetedplantsguy9481why are you feeling excluded because someone mentioned the target audience of the show knowing the theme song? Literally nothing was said about white ppl 🤣
If you noticed, there was a stark difference in the tone between Season 1 and the rest of the seasons. No Lisa Bonet, no Marisa Tomei, Whitney's friend was gone, etc.
@@hoopstdnation The first two season wreaked of mayo. That's what happens when you allow white people to control black images--it's a recipe for a horrible outcome.
My all time favorite show...if you're a true fan you know everyline from that iconic scene!!! They've all aged so gracefully and I love that they're still so close❤❤❤🤎🤎🤎🖤🖤🖤
So many Generation X and Gen Y enrolled at HBCU's because of the profound impact of this most iconic series. "A Different World" was truly in a league of it's own. 20 million views weekly was unprecedented and forever cemented Debbie Allen as an iconic producer. Thanks to the entire cast for having an impact on my life and the lives of multiple generations 🙌🏽 🤎👍🏼🙏🏻😊.
The only shows that I allow my 8 year old grandson to watch without me in the same room (to hurry switch the channel because of inappropriate content) is A Different Word and the Cosby Show. Thank you Bill Cosby !
Yeah. I thought that since they showed the clip that they would have mentioned him. I wonder if they went too long with their talking and couldn't get to mention him. Thst happens.
A good many, perhaps ... I was too busy working in the 80s and 90s to catch but a few episodes, myself, but I still love that intro and hope to stream what I missed soon 🤩😊
I love A Different World..at 56 I still watch it, and that wedding seen Ms. Dianne Carroll was everything with her "die just die" 😂😂.. I love seeing them, praying Sinbad heals completely..miss his clean comedy.
Reboots of classics usually suck, but this generation needs a show like this badly. There's many subjects that could be talked about that didn't exist back then.
As a kid, I had the biggest crush on Dwayne Wayne. I wasn't even old enough to have a boyfriend but there was just something about seeing a smart educated man that I recognized and looked for when I started dating.
Let's go Pt.2! I didn't know that one of the cast members is the original songwriter of that song! Such a classic and yes I was singing along with the audience. ~ I know Kadeem gave Whoopi a pair of those glasses, we all remember Jumping Jack Flash now!
I 🤎 Mr. Kadeem's outfit. I paused to see all of the Pan African symbolism✊🏾 I only wish they didnt cut it off before we could see the glasses he gave to Sunny, Whoopi, and Sara.
This show inspired so many people around the world past & present thank you to Debbie Allen & Bill Cosby for their moral compass & perseverance bringing A Different World into View for all to see
Iconic spinoff show created by Bill Cosby! Thank you, inspired this lil gurl from the hood to go to college! I didn't even cosider anything else... My grandmother born in 1934 and raised near B'Ham,Al. Im apart of her legacy!!! She always promoted me to get my education! Now, I couldn't afford to go to an HSBC, but the idea of college and seeing people that looked like me definitely helped! Much appreciation to these actors! I got my degree in 2009👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
