I mean, just look at how big they are; it be hard enough for just three of them to fit beneath her undercarriage! Not only that, their teeth have well grown in by that time; it's painful on the mother. Heck! The pups might not be hungry at all; the habit of suckling is persistent. Overall, the mother is doing this for both her and their own good.

Most female dogs don't want to mate once they experienced the pain of it + pain of birth and how exhausting pregnancy and motherhood is, but most breeders create perfect conditions for them to not be able to escape the mating process.
