That is what we learn in school as a "Hook statement". Defined as: An opening statement (which is usually the first sentence) in an essay that attempts to grab the reader's attention so that they want to read on.
I is crazy to think of the old days where players would stay in college for three or four years. Like it's hard to imagine a 21 year old Michael Jordan walking around a college campus with his bag over his shoulder.
@@wimpyguy5519 right. But he was born in February so he did spend time in college at that age. You do know they don’t just take you out of college and put you in the league on your birthday right? 🤦♂️😂
Goober is the only voice in news i can trust!! I believe it is now FACT that people on this planet hated JJ as much as Osama Bin Laden. Thank you goober
Heels fan here, I hated JJ and Singler for absolutely no reason other than how good they were for four years. The dislike stops once they leave Duke lol
“NBA legend” is debatable, sure, but that’s just semantics. Everyone who watched college basketball in the 00’s KNOWS that JJ is undeniably a basketball legend. Just his time at Duke would earn him that title but his HS and NBA careers definitely elevate his case. As if that wasn’t already more than enough, the dude didn’t ride off into the sunset. Instead he built yet another impressive career in the basketball world by becoming one of the most entertaining, innovative and respected people in sports media both in the traditional media world(ESPN, color commentary, etc) and in the new media world(RU-vid, podcasts, etc) His résumé is pretty damn bulletproof when you really think about it.
@@Gary-qx3ec a little over 10 points per game in the NBA doesn't elevate his case at all as anything but a vanilla role player. Are you on drugs right now?
Its a big what if but JJ definitely wouldve had a very different career if he wasnt drafted under SVG who wont give rookies/young players minutes and stunts their development. He couldve been an allstar at some point if he was given chances and developed earlier in his career
He should unretire and sit deep on never or timberwolves bench so that he can get a fucking ring he deserves it he wasn’t the playoff seller on his teams
Pretty sad how Reddick and Christian Laettner were both demonised and abused for their whole college careers when both of them are just pretty normal decent people. It's a pretty sick culture that promotes this.
Poor Giddy did nothing with that girl, police determined that, people need to stop ruining that kids life with the lies. By the way JJ is a jerk and I base that on his comments since retired.
Reddick wasn't a frat boy. If being a frat boy is three or four dudes who hung out to drink behind their cars and made mixtapes and make their own letterman jackets then sure, he's a frat boy 😑🙄
