Nope. Gochujang is not used in Kimchi. Gochugaru (fine pepper powder) is used in Kimchi making. Gochujang is rarely a dipping on its own at KBBQ because it's just a spicy paste without much flavor on its own. Some Koreans use Gochujang to dip veggies (Korean green chili and cucumber sticks) as a side dish but Gochujang gets mixed with Dwenjang, sugar, garlic, rice syrup, sesame oil, and other ingredients to make Ssamjang, the dipping paste/sauce you get at KBBQ.
@Y K Are you Korean? I mix ketchup, garlic powder, honey, sesame oil and seeds, soy sauce and gochujang together to make a KBBQ sauce, would that be considered a good sauce in Korea?
