@@RossBaxter - Content Inc. does a solid job of covering some great options. My personal preference is to create value in the form of products and services as I'm not a big fan of the advertising model (perhaps for the same reasons you are hesitant to go that route). This option is a matter of identifying the biggest problems/challenges that are common across your audience and then creating relevant solutions. Easier said than done, but it can work very well.
Please look at how many of those corporations are still existing?? They did not adapt!! This book does not champion those that adapt and do it quickly!! They even had to write another book!
