Well said. The more important issues are those ordinary and silent minorities in Hong Kong, not just the elderlies, but the have-nots as well. There is too big a gap in here between the have and have-nots,
You have to consider that Hong Kong has an aging and longer living population, and familoes having fewer children than before. It's expensive having children and less homes being affordable. People make an active choice to have smaller families. Less taxes being contributed to fund all the public services, including the pensions. What else was going to happen?
The English Mr Lhatoo uses is so refined and expressive it is a delight to listen to. He even conjugated a few verbs in the Present Subjunctive, which is nearly unheard of in modern English. Who is this guy? Which ethnic group does he belong to? His name does not sound Chinese at all yet he looks pretty much Chinese to me.
It is certainly not English spoken in the UK today. I wonder which target audience he is aiming at. Is he trying to impress the HK Chinese population with his archaic English? The English public would find it amusing at best and confusing at worst!
WHAT HAPPEN TO ALL THOSE SENIORS CHILDREN. THOSE WITHOUT CHILDREN SUPPORT SHOULD GET WELFARE FROM GOVERNMENT. LIKE IN SINGAPORE,IT IS COMPULSORY THAT CHILDREN MUST SUPPORT THEIR PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS,IF DON'T ,THE GOVERNMENT WILL INSTRUCT THE COMPANY THEY ARE WORKING IN ,TO DEDUCT FROM THEIR MONTHLY SALARY FOR THEIR OLD FOLKS.
55 in Cambodia but the government also would like to extend the retirement age. But we only get paid monthly and you get only 50% of your salary until you die. Hence even if you'll get that money, life won't be enjoyable still.
I guess it is inevitable. Welfare groups will use keep asking for government hand out until HK becomes a high tax welfare state, and anyone has a different opinion will be labelled as heartless.
living in a 5 square meter shoebox because the ccp stolen money have bouth thousands of appartments that are designed for people to actually live in...
The Big Idea of the whole Bible is about God's Salvation Plan for Mankind. I truly support Ms. Lam for reading her Bible everyday. She will withstand the waves of terror with the Lord by her side.
True Christians do not consider Catholics as having a same belief. We differ in many ways...even the bible is different. I dont think she is a (professing) believer.
