they are even that realistic that some flight schools switched over to occasionally flight lessons before you make your first big test flight, saves fuel and its as realistic as irl mostly. todays sim games are crazy training programms.
Fun fact: planes have all the information you need to takeoff and land handy in the POH, Pilot's Operating Handbook. It's required by the FAA to be in the plane to be considered airworthy. And people don't just take planes, so you can just leave all your shit lying around. Super easy.

Turns out once people actually looked into some of the things he was saying, a lot of it was bullshit. The true con was selling us all the book and film full of exaggerated/made up stories, which worked perfectly.

Barefoot bandit was a real one. This happened when I was i highschool or middle school and it was the highlight the whole 3 years it was happening. It was so big to us because it was super close to where we lived and i knew people who actually knew him. Hella people knew where he was and didn't snitch.
