It is a trade because either the skill involved is laborious in nature or is something where the risk is highly illegal, but the reward can be oh so tempting. Often times it only never came about because they never knew that was an option. I am not a mechanic, but thanks to the you tubes, I am able to service my cars better than the girls on the poles service me.
yh but why did Art go looking for his good for nothing bio father but not DaVinci? I was more curious to know what happened to DaVinci than his bio dad.
@13:00 Remember, a case being thrown out due to illegal search and seizure is not a failure of the justice system, it is a failure of law enforcement. These laws protect little people. More importantly, they defend your constitutional rights. I was a cop before switching over to the legal side. The amount of cases we had to throw out because of a basic failure to adhere to any level of due diligence was staggering.
Yup. The idea that this menace -coulda been- *was* locked up sooner, if they didn't violate his rights. 😡 This Country is great 🇺🇲 specifically because of this criminal going free due to rights violations. Criminal People are annoying.. Criminal Cops are the end of our nation. The American People have continued to choose to uphold this Nation's anti-authoritarian roots.
This so much. Even with the current existing laws, police officers are using loopholes to harass people (generally minorities and disenfranchised people). It’s to ensure that innocent people do not go to jail, to ensure that citizens have a right to privacy, and to ensure the police do not overstep their authority.
@@alliu6562I agree with those laws, but saying that cops target people based on their race is just outdated as hell, that really doesn't happen anymore, just because someone who isn't white is being detained or arrested doesn't mean it's because of their race.
Where I'm from it's illegal for a store to decline money in any form, $100 note, or $100 worth of goods in 10c pieces, money is money as far as the law is concerned here. Then again ours had been made out of plastic for as long as I can remember so cant really counterfeit it anyway.
Our fiat currency is becoming worthless. It takes about twenty-four $100 bills to buy one ounce of gold now. Our out of control government spending trillions of dollars is the worst criminal.
This never really made a lot of sense to me - there are federal laws in place that require stores to accept American currency in America. How are places able to say "no bills over $20" or "no change"? It'd be one thing to refuse *before* providing the service, but I've seen signs like that at places you pay *after* the service is provided.
i like how the guy who knocked out drug dealers and robbed them to make money met a woman who also knocked out drug dealers and robbed them to make money. match made in heaven.
Back in 2006 when I was about 15 years old, I printed out some fake money just because I was curious on how it would turn out. My dad found out and whooped my ass. That’s the end of the story.
when i was 15 my dad made a fake $100 bill and one day we were at the grocery store and he was like "watch this" pulled out the fake 100 and dropped it on the floor. watched another guy quickly pick it up and we both laughed
I thought I was being funny and tried to scan a $20 bill one night shortly after we got our first fancy pants printer with the scanner on top. A web browser opened up automatically with some gov logos and big warnings about the penalties for counterfitting. I was scared shitless......thought the cops were gonna show up at my door any minute. On a side note..... not all printers did this. There was a time when you could photocopy both sides of a bill, tape them together and stick em in a high school vending machine. Then just hit the coin return. Not that I ever did this ....just that you could. So I heard anyway.
As a printmaker/papermaker I applaud his efforts and respect him even. There are forgeries in museums of art that wont be taken down because peoples careers are on the line for approving them as the real thing. Seriously look into the world of art forgery.
When I initially read your comment, I hadn't seen the entire video.....but I get it. Most folk don't realize how crossing certain people's paths leave and is meant to serve their life in certain ways. To name something of importance after someone means so much. Being that the memories that you have added on to the choices that you made aaaand th4 realization that comes from those mathematics, show you more than you realized (if it takes decades for you to see it). There is no person that you cross paths with, meet, interact with and or that enrages you that wasn't meant to be.
haha that was like me last week, sick and just watching youttube video. Get well soon mate, and drink a lot liquids. I feel for you for those sick sleeps where u can never get comfortable. You'll be happy when it's over
That story about how he got off after the judge ruled it an illegal search and seizure happened to me at 16. I had 4 plants in my cupboard in a hydro set up, 2lb of dried bud, and the worst thing (in Australia) a full steel replica Desert Eagle. The one thing that saved me was that as I was only 16 I needed to either have a guardian with me while they searched, or to waive my rights to one. As we were walking upstairs to my room, the cop asked if I wanted a guardian while they searched and I looked back and just said “pffft” thinking I was edgy. They searched and found everything, I was arrested, charged, given bail, and at court 9 months later, as soon as the judge watched that video of the search, he paused it and told the police prosecutor that I had to directly answer the question. My response wasn’t enough to even say that I understood the question. Therefore, all evidence was deemed inadmissible and I walked home without the 2-4 years I was looking at lmao. They did take 19 months to return my watch though (an automatic Tag Heuer Chronograph), which they actually tried to charge me for (goods in custody reasonably being suspected of being stolen or otherwise unlawfully obtained) but that was thrown out too because I showed them the receipt, but they claimed the money was from drugs (it was, but lmao). I’m a changed man now though. Been over a decade since I been in trouble these days. Did 3 years jail over that time period, but learned my lesson in my early 20s and now on the straight and narrow. It really isn’t worth it. Get a job and EARN it. You’ll respect your money so much more!
@@anxofmyown Appreciate that my bro. I blame it on not having a father around to teach me the morals I needed, and being raised in a very bad area with a lot of drugs and crime where those were my only role models. I thought the cool thing to do was to sell drugs and make money. It was fun at the time, if I’m honest, but all I did was waste tens of thousands of dollars on parties and cars, and end up doing a few years in jail. It wasn’t cool at all. Cool is getting up and earning your money legitimately and being a good role model to your kids and peers. It took me a long time to realise who I actually wanted to be, and now I actively try to be the nicest friendliest person you’ll meet on any given day, no matter who I’m speaking to. It makes me feel good to hear that people like the way I treat people.
When I was at uni, I sold a Macbook on Craigslist. The buyer ended up handing me one bill that ended up being counterfeit (was a low value) - shopkeeper confirmed when I tried to buy something with it. I don't think the buyer knew either. I went to a nearby ATM, took out some money and later went into that bank and complained that one of the bills I had just got out of the ATM was a fake. They immediately took the bill, gave me a replacement real one and I went on my merry way.
A long time ago, I worked at AutoZone and a guy tried to pass a fake $50 before we closed, but it was a horrible fake. Lots of counterfeit pen marks, the ink was running and it felt like paper, not cloth. We laughed him out of the store
@@stressed2289 It's built into the firmware of some printers (at least the business grade ones). Try to scan/copy money and see what comes out. Depending on your printer/scanner you can get a partial print or a corrupted copy. Not sure if it works with currency other than USD (that being arguably the most counterfeited), but there are enough vids showing this online for me to believe.
@@stressed2289look up the eurion constellation. It's a crazy government conspiracy that is actually real. You can break other people's printers by putting the code in your pictures you don't want them to print
@@stevedixon921if you try to test this out by printing actual money you'll get arrested or delivinged because the police are trigger-happy. Probably better to find a test image
I remember people used to come in really late at night to the McDonald's with counterfeit bills. I think the idea was "It's 4am, the staff are tired, it'll be so much easier to get them to accept this counterfeit $100 bill for a cheeseburger and $97 in change."
I've had people show up to my hotel with credit cards that are so obviously fake and I try so hard not to laugh in their face and I just tell him it declines or something, They really do be trying
The Mcdonalds I worked at from 2008-11 didnt accept $100 bills for this reason. And the scary part about seeing this video is the fact that they made bills that could pass the marker test, which is how we tested only 20s and 50s. Makes me wonder if I ever accepted a fake bill just because it passed the marker test
@@parkourguyyy if you handled enough cash you have absolutely accepted high level counterfeits, it’s inevitable, especially if it passed the marker test and watermarks/ribbons. As long as your not accepting crappy inkjet printed bills that people try and pass in a stack of real bills you are probably doing well.
@@JamesJamersonIsAGod i know i have accepted reeally low level counterfits when i was behind the bar, somtimes ina rush you barely look at the notes, and it's only when you are cashing up the end of night you realise that the dimensions or colour is totally off, itmay have well been monopoly money it was so obvious
@@parkourguyyy The "marker test" is bogus. People passing counterfeit will actually target cashiers who do this, because they don't inspect the bill otherwise. My genuine bills will "fail" if I'd been baking, and thus handled the bill with flour dust on my hands. Micky Mouse money will "pass" if it's been treated with hair spray. So yes, you probably did accept many fake bills if you relied on the marker test.
Back in the ‘90s I had a few food service companies. One day we got a visit from the police because we had deposited a counterfeit $20 among the rest of our cash. Honestly, I think it was just a colour photocopy. Why staff accepted it is beyond me! So, after that, all bills had to be tested with that pen-thing. I found it amazing to think that people were still counterfeiting cash. Seemed so 1920s!
I can top that. I worked at a store in 2018 where someone took a fake $100 bill. I wasn't on shift at the time, so I didn't see it until after it had been put in that day's sealed baggie. Someone had clearly bleached a $10 bill and just printed the stuff on there. Now remember, this was *2018.* I still think about it sometimes. The woman who accepted the bill was the one who told me NOT to say silly things like "Let's see if it's legit!" when I'd hold bills up to the light or mark them with a pen. She said she didn't want people getting upset. Kind of ironic, really.
@@daffers2345I think if someone gets upset when the cashier wants to make sure their Benny isn't funny money, that would seem pretty fucking suspicious.
The family lineage is the most eye opening part when one sits back and takes in the whole story. Since nothing more than the fact a lineage was mentioned has me wonder about the 'first' person in that family's motivation and what their connection to the official department responsible for printing money was. This could've been a very 'expensive' severance pay.
The abrupt ending Vince's videos have always take me off guard, 20 minutes in but it feels like I just watched a 5 min video cause its so well made it goes by so smoothly.
It's crazy because this was really a thing in Chicago. Growing up on the west side of Chicago me and my cousin found big black plastic laundry bags of counterfeit money in my garage back in 2000. Needless to say, we went to different stores splurging, buying snacks, candy, etc. He was 10, and I was 11 at the time. My mom found out about it because I was bringing in all kinds of crap in the house that i bought.. She gave me the ass whooping of my life, and I've never done crap like that again.
That has to be the best story I have ever heard. From the decline of his life, to now Art owning an Art Gallery with amazing pieces of art, that's just strait up awesome.
Exactly! Art is the LAST unregulated commodity under the U.S. Tax Code. People pay what they ‘feel’ the art is worth and people sell it for what they ‘feel’ it’s worth. Ripe for cleaning. He knows what he’s doing with an art gallery
8:09 "I don't take a lot of sponsorship for the channel unless I really believe in the product". That is the same exact line that other channels use when sponsoring this very same product. I wonder if is part of the agreement from the wallet people.
They should definitely make a movie about this. I know that he can profit from it but if the studios themselfs make a movie about it then he's not making money from it.
Definitely great story telling. The best I've heard thus far on RU-vid. Plus this guy seems way more down to earth and real than most I've come across.
Alaskan here. The picture you used for the unnamed Alaskan town was of Cordova -- which is really cool, because the bar in the picture (The Alaskan) I've played with my band. However, after some digging, it seemed the Williams were based in Chickaloon, a half hour or so northeast of Palmer. Chickaloon's small, Palmer and the rest of the Valley have a population of probably 100k, so not small. Also, it's inland -- there are a lot of "fishing" towns here, but Chickaloon is not one of them! Just some extra details because I found it interesting. Really enjoy your videos, thank you for making them!
Listen everyone. If you literally have a cash cow, a golden goose, don't go frickin crazy! There have been times in my life where I've "indulged." You always take it easy. Heck this guy literally had his life paid for and messed up
He didn't mess it up. He allowed someone from his past that showed irresponsible and reckless behavior in on what served him. So what he was his father, he really didn't have to prove to him that he had value. As the reason he abandoned him was because he didn't value him. That quality of person can never ever be trusted, even if they're crafty enough to *appear trust worthy. Once someone shows you their ass, it's best to abandon them forever. They will find what serves them, as well as all that they deserve.
He didn't mess up. It was everyone around him tnat held him from succeeding. His father that betrayed his trust, and his son that blamed his own idiocy on his old man. I'm not saying he would never have gotten caught, but he didn't get caught due to his own action
The guy you are using as the Da Vinci photo is a character from Department S, and later Jason King. Played by Peter Wyngarde. What an unexpected blast from the past!
I thought it was really Da Vinci until you said that. The whole video I was thinking that he really does look charming enough to have secret criminal empire 😭
Perfect timing... so happy to see (and be able to watch) another upload from you!! Hope all is well with you. Thanks for what I'm sure will be another interesting gem.
When it comes to illegal ways to make money this is by far the most impressive and most respectable. I'm glad there was a happy ending to this story too with his new gallery!
How is this any different than the federal reserve printing infinite amounts of money? The real criminals are the ones in charge of this fake worthless paper fiat trash
Good story. It amazes me how some people can have a horrible criminal record, yet still make something out of themselves. Not so easy to do these days with background checks -- can't even get a minimum wage job at McDonald's, or anywhere else. Fraud or counterfeiting doesn't look good to any company..
I’d like to see them counterfeit our Australian bills. Plastic notes, multiple windows, holograms, hidden symbols, etc. Impossible to counterfeit perfectly. That’s why over 40 countries use our polymer technology now.
Yup we have them in Canada too, I’ve only seen 1 single fake of a blue 5$ and it was god awful. The worst fake I’ve ever seen, it was literally 2 separate front and back sheets scotch taped together with the see through window just being a strip of clear tape.
I'm convinced that if there's ONE thing that SHOULD be made out of plastic, it's money. We replaced all our paper money with polymer bills a few years ago in Trinidad and it's seriously so much better. Waterproof, tear-resistant, easily readable.
You’d think he would have cut his losses after UNBELIEVABLY having the first case dropped. He broke the important rules. Never get greedy. Never tell anyone. Those were his downfall.
Finally, someone that tells a story on RU-vid for the sake of the story and not for the sake of his ego. I can't enjoy anything anymore, because all videos are made to boast this narcisists, but you, you my friend, are a jewl, I subscribed everything, keep it neutral and we'll all enjoy your content.
@@kikpopstar8254 money hasn't been legal since the gold standard hence why the wording was changed on the note, the word note has nothing to do with money. @@RealDixonPeter 😭😭😂 let me guess? Bitcoin is gunna save the world? I would probably agree with you that it’s a better currency but why you gotta phrase it like that no one wants to take your side. Let’s just talk about how good the video was
Instant sub. This was really interesting and really well put together. Crazy people pay for TV and whatnot when you have content like this for free. I liked the statement "he perfected making a dollar rather than something that would make him money" was quite profound
Wow, what an interesting story by such a riveting storyteller. Surprised I had never heard of this story, living in Chicago all my life. Anyhow, thanks for the upload and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
This is exactly why a ton of stores don't accept 100s or even 50s now, and some places will specifically say they don't accept 100s for purchases below a certain price. It's dumb as hell, you have to specify that you want cash in 100s from most banks and ATMs (my bank doesn't even give you a choice, you get it in 20s from the atm and that's it), so I always assume something is up if someone is using a $100 bill to pay for milk from a grocery store. Using 100s to buy appliances or bedding or stuff, sure. That stuff is expensive, it's normal. Carrying around 100s to buy a Kit-Kat and some vodka from the gas station at 2 am?? Sus.
That's cool that he's a painter now! When i was watching the video i was thinking "man, this dude could have been a great artist but he wasted it". I'm glad it worked out that way
Few years back I ended up researching about the dollar, went to staples took out a $20 bill and tried scanning it on all the machines, they would all stop half way through until I went by the old printers and found a two way printer that was able to scan the whole thing. I then researched what materials is the dollar made from and found cotton linen and some other secret ingredient. So I got the closest paper I could to the dollar. And tried doing a $20 but the color looked off and I thought it will be less hot to do the $10s instead of $20. So I tried the $10 and it looked perfect. I printed a bunch got a paper cutter and some green nail thingy to make the 100 logo look similar and ones printed I just rubbed it against my jeans a few times. Came out perfect! But long story short I stopped because I didn't want to end up in jail.
This is an incredible story, thank you RU-vid algorithm for this gem, thank you Vince Vintage for the artful and articulate video, showing some of the "cool" big crime from back in the day.
17:30 Explain to me how you where able to find this song, I looked EVERYWHERE on the surface web and all I was able to find is a website talking about the song and the background behind it, I'm quite interested so of you can point my in the right direction that would be awesome :), btw nice video very informative and interesting information
the genuine art of "mastering" something must feel like a HUGE rush!!!! it became an addiction for them! glad to hear he has his own art gallery now! thats truly incredible! MAJOR PROPS!
4:15 "Is robbing drug dealers at gunpoint really a sustainable career? No" Unless youre actually a cop, in which case yes; civil asset forfeiture literally emboldens them to do exactly this and take folks money bcuz it may have been drug money and often not even charge the person with a crime. His behaviour was entirely in line with actual cops and had he not chosen the criminal route, the cops wudve welcomed him with open arms and applauded and laughed about all the money theyre seizin (much of which is given to the precinct as a kickback so they do this just to buy fancy coffee machines and hot tubs for the police dept
I can’t be the only one to find it fucked up that there was a court order saying “You can’t make anything from telling your story” - if he has a criminal record and can’t get normal employment, how else do you expect him to get by without turning right back to crime?
Because that incentivizes crime... Even retarded children could understand why allowing people committing crimes for profit, to profit from their crimes. It's kinda the entire point of the behavior being criminalized in the first place.
If the guy served his sentence, he served his sentence. There should not be any additional restrictions after the fact excluding conditions of parole, and if that is completed then those conditions should expire. You didn't answer the question either - how do you expect him to get gainful employment to live a comfortable, normal life post-prison and not have to turn back to crime? Because if that's not part of the plan, you just WANT recidivism.
Damn I’m pissed you didn’t let that music play out at the end. You had such a good punchline to complement the entire story, and you didn’t let it marinate.
I wonder if Da Vinci knows about the parts in the story after he left. I'm glad Art transferred his skills in the art of literally making money, to making art with those skills. If you're good enough to make counterfeit money, then I'm not surprised you would be good with a brush
I can see an instant flaw with selling counterfeit bills to criminals. Especially if you spend all that effort on passing every security check. How do you make sure your criminal contacts aren't buying your bills. With your bills?
