It was a tragic 'Kheddah' operation that separated an elephant calf from her mother. But that tragedy turned out to be the greatest blessing because she was adopted by the Avatar of the Age, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba after He named her 'Sai Geeta'.
Swami taking in Sai Geeta as His 'pet' was not a matter of simple chance or luck. It is definitely the Masterplan and, in retrospect, it appears as if Swami travelled all the way to the Mudumalai forests to claim His 'pet' or 'devotee'. Sai Geeta's behaviour and attitude prove beyond doubt that she is a devotee and Swami, the Supreme Lord of the Universe! This is a funny yet poignant story of how Sai Geeta was taken to the forest to fulfill her biological urge to mate and be a mother. Her urges however were far more sublime and spiritual.
