"In my opinion, the trombone is the true head of the family of wind instruments, which I have named the 'epic' one. It possesses nobility and grandeur to the highest degree; it has all the serious and powerful tones of sublime musical poetry, from religious, calm and imposing accents to savage, orgiastic outburst. Directed by the will of the master, the trombones can chant like a choir of priests, threaten, utter gloomy sighs, a mournful lament, or a bright hymn of glory; they can break forth into awe-inspiring cries and awaken the dead or doom the living with their fearful voices." - Hector Berlioz
I have one from my great grandfather he played in high school and then for the freemasons band, I’m no good at it but they’re fun and certainly pieces of art. I had two but sadly one was was stolen
As a former Bonehead 1992-2000, i had to see this, much appreciated, i encourage my kids to make music and think it would be great to pick up again just for the lung and facial muscle benefits lol!
The trombone is the least and most in-tune instrument at the same time. You constantly change how you play based on the temperature of the instrument, as well as the tuning of the other instruments in the band. It takes a lot to master, similar to a fretless guitar.
Go for it!! An admirable and achievable dream. Immerse yourself in all things involved in and related to your chosen profession -- indulge your passion! I'm probably old enough to be your Mum, maybe even your Gran, and I wish I'd known what I wanted to do, and went and did it. So seize life with both hands and shape it into what you want. I wish you, with all my heart, every success in the future (which could be the present by the time you read this!)
@@user-xh9rg6ir1h that's the beauty, you didn't have to ask, you got my opinion for free! (And don't cry or get mad in your response, wouldn't want anyone to be judgemental on the internet!)
Above the Alto Trombone there's Soprano and Piccolo Trombone, and those last one are really small, they look like a funny toy and sound almost like a trumpet 😅
How does one work in this field? Im still in highschool and i want to work as a trombone specialist by either fixing or making them cause i love brass instruments alot so any information would be helpful for my soon to be collage life
