Just wondering they say if you turn off the water shut off valve and the meter still moving then you have a leak but how is it possible if water isn't flowing past in your diagram the water lateral?
so when you open a tap from the upstairs, that's pulling water from all the way under the ground from the basement from the main water main? how does the water get upstairs so fast?
Is the water only measured from that 1 meter. Our water bill has increased 3-400%. I wouldn't think that's a drip? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated 🙏
I have all of this except for the meter its self. And that's what I need the most right now so ik if theres a leak or not when i shut off the water with the water shut off valve. Ugggghhh
It is always best to have a ball valve before your meter on your water service line and also one after it. The pressure-reducing valve is located after the secondary shut off and not before the meter. Check valves of any kind are not a good idea because of the installation of expansion water tanks. Other methods are best for water hammer problems. This is not a good example of a proper water service line installation.
