Everyone at that finals table should feel embarrassed - not because she's female, but because they lost to a player whose been playing for a year.

There are an incredible amount of uneducated takes in this comment section. Many of you simply do not know enough about the game. Read books, get software, put in 50,000 hands, then you WILL see a difference and realize it's not "luck"

Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying she’s bad but the way she is acting like a poker god with her book, interviews, lectures, when she only has 1 win is an absolute joke. She’s using the gender card and it’s disgusting

@@icanspelle6050 I don't think she ever claimed to be a great poker player. In her interview on the odd lots podcast she says she's not an expert, and wouldn't consider herself an expert for probably another 10 years. What she feels comfortable with (having a PhD in psychology) is explaining how lessons from poker can be applied to real life decision making. This is what her books is about with story arc being how she learned it herself.

@@icanspelle6050 youre missing the point completely and being irrationally negative. Even one tournament is a big deal, in any field. That’s like winning a challenge tour event in tennis, or playing for the 3rd division in football(soccer). A very impressive achievement on its own-and one that takes years and years of training. If you would have read her book before judging her you would also know that this was all part of an experiment that she wanted to document on the psychology of decision-making, drawing parallels between poker and life. She is a Harvard grad, Columbia phd in psychology, is a writer for the New Yorker, and has written a few New York Times best selling books.

Lets say her basics are solid, But if u watch the games, luck becomes a factor. Someone has the game of their life. The year of their life. Ect but fail to repeat. Usually they blame the number of good players? Really? Then i guess it comes down to luck. Its said the black jack players burn out their luck and end up teaching the game. Great story but look who wins the majors and watch the finals they get hot (lucky) they catch cards (lucky) they dont bust (lucky)

proves that poker is mostly the luck of the draw of cards and very little skills...know how to bet is a skill but if you dont hit the cards you dont win.

Was in quantifier for wsop a+b 2 seats, one guy won both seats. Played at one of his tables, he barely looked at his cards. Why bother, he won every hand. 2 ten thousand seats. Two tourneys back to back. Amazing luck.

Tom Yazel BS. That’s the thing with poker - you don’t need good cards to win - you can win any game with any hand if you have the skill.
@tomy5868
@tomy5868 4 года назад
@@markotik2 not... rarely does someone win without hitting flops etc just right...throughout all these televised tournaments. Betting the right amount YES and can keep a player in a tournament for a longer time...seen millions of hands that were won on the river by amateurs and pros that were a 8% luck of the cards.
@markotik2

Tom Yazel Well we can agree to disagree. I’ve played poker for over 25 years - apart from blackjack, which I play just for the fun, it’s the only game I play because you can get good at it. Luck plays a part obviously but a skillful player will do better than a lucky one more often than not.
