The Eastern Orthodox Bible is a translation of the Majority Text. They are going to publish a complete Bible, with a translation of the Septuagint for the Old Testament text.

I agree until he starts on the Old Testament and the mesorites. They had a tendency to preserve the text until it comes to the verses cited by the apostles. Then somehow they end up completely different in places. At the end of the day either the apostles and Christ himself felt like there was no problem with paraphrasing at times even to an extreme or they are quoting older texts that are not found in the mesoretic text due to either intentional or unintentional error.

So why isnt the Septuagint the preferred version of the OT of it was before Christ and the rejection of the messiah ?

What about when septuagint readings match the byzantine NT, or the peshitta, or the targums, or quotes from church fathers? The Masorites may have been careful preservers, but at what century did they become so? If in certain cases you have 2 or 3 witnesses in agreement against the masoretic, shouldn't we side with the majority of witnesses?

Yes its a good question. I’m ambivalent, honestly.

@@BiblicalStudiesandReviewsWhat most people don't realise is that the Masoretic text only began in the 6th century AD and finished their work in the 10th century. Also there were largely 2 families within the Masoretic text - called the ben Asher and the ben Naphtali family. Another point to be recognized is that the Masoretes by placing vowel points on the Hebrew consonants were the 3rd set of people attempting to interpret the Scriptures after the Septuagint and the Targums. This is because translation into Greek (septuagint) and Aramaic (Targum) necessarily required settling on a single understanding of the Hebrew passage. By placing the vowels over the consonants, the Masoretes did pretty much the same thing. The classical example of this is revealed by comparing Jeremiah 17:9 in the MT, LXX and the various Targums. The Dead Sea scrolls revealed to us that there were proto-Masoretic (Masoretic-like, but without vowels), proto-Septuagint (the Hebrew from which the LXX was translated), the Samaritan Pentateuch, and another unclassified family/ies of readings. Finally, whenever there is a difference between the MT & LXX when quoted in the New Testament, the NT agrees with the LXX in over 90% of cases.

@@noelenliva2670 I have a whole video on the Masoretic text vs the Septuagint coming a the next several days. You may disagree with my assessment but would love for you to comment there too and contribute to the conversation.

Septuagint > Masoretic The new testaments quotes the Septuagint! Not the masoretic! The Jews who preserved the masoretic don’t believe that Jesus is the Christ. Which actually based on scripture, makes them anti Christian. With the antichrist spirit Modern Hebrew isn’t even close to paleo Hebrew, it’s closer to Assyrian. Ancient Greek is closer to paleo Hebrew which is closer to Phoenician. The Septuagint is closer to the original, the book of order makes more sense, and the prophecies of Jesus aren’t hidden. Modern Hebrew is not what the Hebrews of the old times spoke.

Do you have a RU-vid channel to defend KJV or to play ads every 5 minutes ⁉️ Playing ads every 5 minutes is just too unacceptable‼️ STOP being e-begging clowns‼️

RU-vid did an ad update recently and overrode the settings which creators had on their videos in regards to when and where ads would play. I manually went and turned the mid-roll ads off this video. Thanks for letting me know how excessive they were. Blessings!

@@BiblicalStudiesandReviews Now go and thank RU-vid for causing how some subscribers view you - ebeggars! Why are you not informing your subscribers of this "overrode" phenomenon? If you don't inform them, who's mistake is it if a negative opinion is formed about your channel? Your subscribers?
