Oh man. Those sparkling doe eyes. I don't know why judy was never supposed to be the one of the "pretty girls" like lana or ava at the time. She really had such a sweet face.
Jidy became bit harsh looking in eatly 50s cant explain why. Not sure if she had work done in her early mid 20s. But for some reason her face got bit harsh looking. Still beautiful, but not as beautiful as here.
He died 5 years ago. The last star of the golden age of Hollywood. I liked all your films Mickey. You were good! You could do it all. Thanks for all the movies you left behind.
He had roles in most of my favorite childhood movies. Pete's Dragon, Night at the Museum, and all of those Christmas films that he voiced Santa Clause.
Mickey was very talented, but, if he had the wrong director, the ham in him would come out. Sometimes when someone else was featured he would go overboard to draw attention to himself. I like Mickey, but, that's the truth.
it never fails to hurt me deep inside that behind the scenes and Hollywood sets, that Judy was starved and severely mistreated by MGM. Rest in power Judy, paving the way and making this world feel safe for someone like me.
Her voice is obviously amazing. It's as good as any voice I've ever heard. But even putting that aside, the idea she was told she was ugly is outrageous. I think she looks incredible here.
I agree. She's beautiful! I heard she had a playful personality, too. That's a good combination. I'd rather have a cute and fun person than a beauty queen.
Mickey and Judy were both geniuses in their many talents. They could look at a script and know it.....learn dance steps quickly....amazing both of them.
I always feel like I get judged for listening to this type of music and watching this type of stuff at an age like this (I'm 15 btw and Samoan😅). I just feel like seeing how much things have changed now (good and bad) I realise how beautiful things were back then. The romance, music and the way they act in general. Nowadays we're stuck with people my age trying to act like gangsters 😂 overall I just really love how things were back then and wish I would've gotten to experience it myself.
Judy was very gifted and sweet and had a wonderful sense of humor ! Mickey was cute too and had a crush on him when he was much younger as I was 18 and loved watching old Mickey Rooney movies so fell heals in love with the younger Mickey Rooney like here !
This is the best version of this beautiful and classic song ever! This musical number from the classic 1941 MGM classic movie Babes on Broadway is pure movie magic!
She’s so beautiful hear I still can’t believe Hollywood said she was ugly were they blind or just dumb she’s stunning naturally gorgeous and that voice man she’s awesome!!🤩💝🙌
I absolutely love Judy here! It's my probably my favorite movie scene of hers (apart from The Man That Got Away in ASIB). She is so full of wonder, her smile is heartwarming, and those eyes are insanely gorgeous. Such a genuine, natural performance. I've always wondered how she would have ended up if given a chance to lead a happy, healthy life surrounded by people who loved and cared for her.
It's hard to say which movie Judy is the most beautiful in . She is very pretty here at 19 but look at her in The Clock, MMISL. Or even The Pirate. She is stunning.
And Louis B. Mayer called her "my little hunchback" because she had scoliosis. Yet there was probably no brighter star with so much talent that ever shined in Hollywood. This beautiful film clip proves it. She was and is unmatched.
Judy was sooooo beautiful at that age. Such a shame her life went into a downward spiral as she got older. And why did she not think she was beautiful like Lana Turner of Liz Taylor?? OMG.. I think Judy was much more beautiful , those eyes are mesmerizing not to mention that voice! Makes my heart pitter-patter. RIP dear Judy.
Just watched pointless and this movie was a pointless answer. It's sad but this is now drifting from memory and into history. One day in the future these movies will be appreciated again. Might be hundreds of years but it will surely happen
They are appreciated now. Not by everyone, that is true, but ca 80 years later, the world has changed immensely, as has popular culture, but so many--ever here--adore this music! A few years ago I was driving in Cambridge, Mass on a June day, and I have NY license plates, and a young woman walked by, smilingly, and sang "I Like New York in JUne..." to me!
