I agree 💯, and it’s why I create nearly all my content in MR. It’s just a shame that more developers don’t take advantage of it in marketing, especially when LIV is free and would allow more content creators to make even better again, FREE, advertising for them. There’s only so much I can do to give an impression of VR gaming putting myself in the corner of a video with my home made setup alone.

Yea the biggest thing about all these is that the devs had to program MR into their game so liv and stuff can work. So it’s a little more work but I think it’s well worth it.

VR is so incredibly hard to understand the experience unless you have got inside the HMD and played the game. I do agree that VR is hard to sell, unless you have been in that scenario and used that hardware. Part of why I became a VR only content creator is that the experiences are so incredible, and I wanted to show others in depth looks into what VR truly is. A lot of folks only VR experience are those crappy phone cut out things that were around, or they did a demo that was poorly done and their mindset of VR, isn't even close to what we experience. That's part of the reason why I have my full body, my eyes, my BPM, able to read viewers, have the bHaptics overlays, spend hours tweaking before going live, etc in my videos, so folks get as close to the VR experience as possible without actually being in there. Because it is a very hard sell and very hard to advertise to others. I don't think anybody has it figured out completely yet but there does need to be some level of showing it's VR related but that's up to the advertisers. There are countless times where somebody will send me a video of a game that will be releasing and they think it's in VR, when it's not, because, as you said, the videos are so similar at times that you can't tell a difference. It happens on a regular basis. Even mobile phone ads have become absurd. Great video as always man.

The one ad that has me down right now @farmertrueVR is the behemoth ad. Was all in engine and looked flat AF. People were so mad in streams I was in that day. I was hype AF but people were like why does this have to be VR.

I've been waiting on this video after what you posted on X. Just finished the video. It's an interesting point. I don't necessarily think you need mixed reality in every trailer. Intercutting between the two (look at the Iron Man VR Quest trailer for an example) can get the point across. And I'm saying this know that a MR trailer requires you to code MR compatability into your game, which not every dev has the ability or resources to do. I do agree at minimum, a VR headset should be present in every trailer right from the get go. From a larger perspective I agree though, most VR trailers are designed to sell to VR audiences, not gamers as a whole.

The VR headset being in every trailer 100% and should always start the same kind of way. Zoom into the HMD lenses into the game POV. Helps with understanding and pattern recognition of VR headsets in general.

But they can show ads in a way that offers a better understanding of VR if you have never seen or tried it. That’s a huge issue right now in VR. Most don’t truly get it from the trailers we have now.

Until they are in VR they have no idea what is going on . That why meta is using real people a lot to show people how to play . They doing a good job imo . VR just a hard sell and not easy to understand

I noticed that a lot of the time when I saw MR trailers it’s from games that meta has supported or is pushing. However I spent all day Saturday going through steam and everything that was offered in VR. Oldest trailers I used in the vid was 2017 I believe.

I mean, if they were being realistic. Whenever someone swings a sword. They'd just be wiggling it back and forth until the mob is dead. They'd be fumbling with reloading a clip because their tracking has dead spot. You can't turn in shooters because there's no hip tracking out of the box. So your arms inevitably end up freaking out. Selling VR isn't there, lol. VR kind of sucks. If I'm being honest. But I will live out my cyberpunk dreams. Even if that means breaking a few cups along the way.

Depends on the game. You can’t really wiggle the sword back and fourth. Most games o Don’t work that way in VR. Unless it’s Skyrim and well it’s Bethesda. You have to have the speed in blade and sorcery. You also need to have speed when you swing in something like grim lord. I think mag physics should be shown off. Gravity royal shows off some stuff like that for their mags in their trailer. The more I read the more I wonder when the last time you ever fed VR was. You can use stick or physically rotate. If you played the virtual boy idk. Most VR now has a lot of stuff you are having gripes with here. Maybe try a friends or something @FlockofSmeagles

@ButtorsomethingVR I was just joking, but if you're going to be a dick about it. There's no weight to anything, trash. Zero depth, trash. Can't walk, trash. Tracking sucks, trash. Simulating a sword swing isn't a substitute. It makes it worse. VR does suck whether you'd like to admit it or not. It probably will never take on. These games will remain gimmicks. Because it literally isn't possible to create the thing that people want from a VR experience. Which is true immersion. Sit on a dick and spin.
