Doctors working in public hospitals of China deserve large respects, as pay is not as high as western world. On the other hand, they grow professional skills much faster, compared with the typical career path of a doctor in the Western world, who tend to see less patients due to the relatively smaller appointment numbers. In a word, I always respect them.

Sri Lanka was not able to repay the debt on the construction of its port. So the obligation of the debt was converted into a 99 year lease on the port. China would run and profit from the port for 99 year, and at the end of the lease, the port would return to Sri Lanka. This is exactly the same type of deal the U.S. made with Panama when it built the Panama Canal. Panama was unable to repay its debt, so a 99 year lease was set up to repay for construction of the canal. After running and profiting from the canal, it was return to Panama at the end of the 99 year lease.

It is really impressive that your wife, who does not read or speak Chinese, can handle all these complicated procedures (for me at least) in hospital in China. Sometimes I do not know where to go or what to do when I am in a hospital. if many expatriates living in china is as adventurous as as independent as you and your families it would make living in china a lot easier and pleasant, I have so many expatriates friends from all over the world didn't at all make an effort to get to know the local or the cultures in china and most of them would just hang out with expatriate and complain about everything in china. when growing up in Sydney Australia as a child many white Australian would make comments about how many immigrants who came into Australia stick to themselves and would not make an effort and its strange I see a lot of similarities to some expatriates here, I have a Australian friend here in Shanghai who have been living here for almost 12 years and hardly speak any mandarin and would constantly complain about how difficult it is to live here in china and I often wonder why is he here after all these years ha ha ha, I have lived and work in almost 20 countries and I have to say china and chinese people are the most accommodating and friendliest people I have met , in any countries if you are kind and show respect for the locals and they would definitely do the same in return, so many expatriates that I have met are so bossy, negative and rude and expect every chinese people to accommodate them and treat them like VIP, don't forget that we are in a foreign countries and if we have decide to make it work, we have to also make it work for others, I loved china and chinese people, they are straight forward but they are also accommodating and kind if you open up to them and give them time to get to know us. to some of my expatriate here in china, stop complaining and make it work and make an effort to hang out with the locals and get to know them and have some respect at least learn some basic chinese and respect their cultures and tradition. If China can do it, so can India. India just needs to start from a clean slate and work out a political and economic system that is home-grown and well suited to the Indian instinct. Get rid of most of the colonialist baggage that’s been bogging India down for centuries and go with your own best instincts. India was an advanced civilisation for millennia so it’s already proven that India can succeed on its own terms. Just get rid of the colonialist clutter - clean house - and start afresh.

The volunteers who guide people in those hospitals are all nearby college students, not doctors or nurses. They are all for the credits of social practice classes. When I was studying in China, almost all my Chinese friends had similar activities. Some go to the mountains to plant trees, some go to help in nursing homes, and some volunteer in hospitals. It seems that they must get credits for social practice courses in order to graduate. I think this method is very good. Students get credits and hospitals get volunteers.

I would like to express my point of view. Doctors in China's top children's hospital need at least 5-7 years of very hard study, and only after passing the exam will they sit on this chair to see a doctor for your child. Their English level is excellent. Latin literature too. But their jobs are stressful and they are angels, to whom the highest respect is given. thanks.

Very special video. Glad you selected a public hospital other than a private one to show. It is 100% true to reflect how Chinese see doctors. It must be confusing for the first time for the procedure . But once you get familiar, it is convenient. Although sometimes you need to queue for 1 or 2 hours, you can always see the doctor on the same day. Appointment of famous doctors may be after 1 or 2 weeks. But most doctors are easy to appoint.
