Responding to rapid advances in artificial intelligence and the urgent need to define its responsible use in health and medicine, Stanford Medicine and the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) have launched RAISE-Health (Responsible AI for Safe and Equitable Health). This pioneering initiative seeks to address critical ethical and safety issues surrounding AI innovation and help others navigate this complex and evolving field.
Ananta Addala, DO, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford Medicine. She is a pediatric endocrinologist and physician scientist addressing disparities in pediatric type 1 diabetes management and outcomes.
James Zou, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Data Science. He is also, by courtesy, a Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.
Roberto Novoa, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pathology
and of Dermatology. Board certified in dermatology and dermatopathology, he practices clinical dermatology and interprets slides as a dermatopathologist.
David Myung, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and attending physician specializing in cataract and corneal surgery and external diseases of the eye.
Theodore Leng, MD, is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon.
Lloyd B. Minor, MD, is the Carl and Elizabeth Naumann Dean of the Stanford University School of Medicine. He also is a Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Lisa Kim is Senior Manager of Media Relations for Stanford Medicine and Stanford Health Care. Lisa has a deep background in journalism, as she is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who has covered stories on both the national and local levels.
