I flying delta at least 4 times a year I never had shrimp in my food, delta food is garbage

I actually watched a documentary last night on CBC The Nature of Things that indicated that it's likely the noise on airplanes that impacts our ability to detect flavour (both salty and sweet) while in flight - who would have guessed!? Apparently, our brain's focus on the noise detracts from our sense of taste. This gentleman indicates it's the lower humidity, which I imagine could also be a factor. Either way, looks like making things flavourful for airplane food would be very tricky!

I wouldn’t mind eating it out the packaging, but I guess it’s all about presentation so it’s on a plate. I remember the only meal I ever had on a plane was frozen in the early 2000s on Delta airlines. It was one of them frozen dinner meals you heat up in the microwave. They gave it to me with the plastic still attached. It was actually delicious. Now all, they give you is a small snack and a mini complimentary drink on economy.

First class food is good! I had their soba noodles salad once and fell in love with it. I make it at home now! 🥰

Katie finally gets so close to "flying" first class...a comfortable seat, a great meal...but no destination included. One day she'll get that destination AND that hot fudge sundae (with the hot fudge on the bottom, so it doesn't melt the ice cream) and the slippers!

Travelled yesterday this thing popped out on my recommendations didn’t watch flight videos but it popped out.

I was like hey I had never had those two dishes during my years flying with Delta maybe I should try it next fly and then I realized it is food for first class. I HAD NEVER ATE ANY THING WITH METAL UTENSIL AND CHINA PLATE ON AN AIRCRAFT! #Sad story.

So my mom works for Delta and we get flights for free, I love delta and wouldn’t imagine flying on a Better airline 😭

I knew it. It took six minutes for him to say it but I knew it. It's first-class food. Honestly, the food they make looks okay at best. It's nothing you couldn't make at home.

I was in the seafood industry on the retail side for about a decade in the Pacific NW. The shrimp is mostly thawed from frozen to be cooked. Northing wrong with frozen as it keeps the flavor as "fresh" as possible from production.

I am a chef and I work for Malindo Airlines we do the same I work for the bakery section the food are all made the same but we have a different type of menu just looking at this makes me so hungry...

i remember i had a very good chicken dish. it was good at first, but then I came across one part if the meal that was confusing. I saw a brown mushy thing. it was soft and thin, like a long cylinder. sooo, I thought it was a potato, then a yam, but that wasn't possible because those are darker and bigger than what was on my plate. i split it in half... turns out it was two brown, unpeeled bananas. nasty. but the ice cream sundae was DELICIOUS. (this was airplane food, of course.)

Bruh. Carl’s Jr. breakfast items + a free beer at an 8am flight via Virgin Airlines from LAS-LAX is better. Especially after winning $2 from the slots while waiting. 🤷‍♀️
