My predicted All Blacks starting xv vs the Springboks. Can this side beat the Springboks? What do you guys think of the team? What changes would you make? #allblacksrugby #allblacks #therugbychampionship
Its a BIG ask for the ABs.... We have some experience scattered about the park but are def in a rebuilding phase. The Boks are HUMMING right now. I think ABs best result would be 1-1. Should be an awesome contest no matter what happens
@@KickOnRugby its the Boks loose forwards and locks that worry me, not the front row (I mean you gotta worry about the whole damn side, but mostly....)
@@rodeo4786 nope - but Tamaiti (135-140 kgs and 1.96m) and Pasilio (135-140kgs and 1.93m) plus we know Lomax 130kgs/1.92m and Tu'ungafasi 129kg/1.95m are big enough... Tuipolotu? Yeah, well, we have to make do. Barrett and Vaa'i will do their best. And Darry and Lord will add some height if not bulk after halftime. And Barrett can go to No.6 to keep our lineout height.
I'd say you're close to the team razors thinking. I'd consider starting Vaai, with Darry off the bench, as i see Vaai as more of a grafter, and NZ really needs impact in that last 20. Also not a fan if 3x7s for loosies. Gotta get some size on the field with Finau or, maybe, Barrett at 6, with Blackadder at 7 and go with Papalii off the bench. Reiko actually passed the ball last week, so probably stick with him. Really wish NZ had given more opps to Proctor to hive him a chance for selection. Hoping for a good showing up front from the ABs although thinking this Boks outfit is just on a different level atm. Really enjoying watching them... when they're playing against someone else
Your picks loo pretty good to me, but I'd say Cane will start (experience), and so will Vaa'i (size/bulk). Razor might just start Mark Telea too (unpredictability). But yeah, no problem if your team is the one chosen.
I don't know about the number 7 position. They could very well have Sam Cane start instead. Probably won't do it due to his inexperience, but having Tosi sub on for Tamaiti would certainly help maintain that big punch up front. If they wanted to shock us, I guess having an uncapped Plummer or Love on the bench. But idk who you'd have to drop for that, or if that's even possible.
The only way the all blacks win is of they stop trying to out-boks the boks. Picking a 6-2 split would be a mistake. They don't have the depth to get any meaningful impact that could negate the bomb squad impact. All blacks need to fo back to their strengths and try and run the boks off their feet. Counter from deep, keep possession and build phases. Just kicking it to our back three would be a mistake.
I think this selection is actually spot on (as an All Black supporter) - and it would be consistent with what they have been picking so far. The significant change is, clearly, the return of Scott Barrett. He makes a huge difference to the forward play and could also feature on the blindside later in the game.
