Old post but I'd like to add to this. I noticed through testing that hot fluid from the aftercooler under the supercharger should run to the top of the heat exchanger where hot water rises to the top and it's condensed by air to water cooling, thus cooling and naturally flows towards the bottom (he) and pushed with the booster pump back towards the aftercooler. Best results.
I have a question I have a roush supercharger kit on my 4.6 3v, my heat exchanger busted. Can I drive my car without hurting my supercharger until my new heat exchanger comes in the mail?
You could probably drive around. Just don’t be hard on the car. If it were me I would fill it up with distilled water every time you drive it., Even if most of it leaks out at least the intercooler pump won’t overheat. There are non-intercooled supercharger kits out there so it’s been done, just don’t go far or long with it
I have 2 mustangs a built 95 mustang gt and an 06 mustang gt stock" im looking at a very low mile 05 mustang gt with professional built 3v 302 stroker with whipple supercharger. And freddy brown built transmission. . Only 3000 miles on build. Can a good setup like this if taken care of last 100,000 miles or more like a stock setup?. I never had a car with supercharger. My 95 mustang has custom cam. Afr aluminum heads etc etc. Nice runner. Whats your take?:)
I think so. If the engine was built right there should be no problem. The supercharger should hold up fine for 100k miles as well. I daily drove my built engine 4.6L supercharged Bullitt for a few years and would have done so for several more.
what will happen if u rotate the water flow direction ? example : from supercharger to intercooler to coolant reservoir tank to supercharger and what is the the best diagram to get more cold water ? Thanks
@Justin SVT hey bro I have a question. I have a fully built V6 supercharged mustang yet to be dyno or driven . It has a M90 roots supercharger. The kit does not have an inter cooler . Any suggestions for cooling excluding meth injection???? Thanks ahead of time and sorry for jacking the comment section original commenter
You won’t see the fluid circulating in the reservoir. Cars that come factory with an intercooler pump will also not turn the pump on until the temperature of the engine rises to a certain temperature
