Awesome to here, we are joining the two topics together dome and hemp it's going to be very exciting. FYI we are looking for nationwide builders. Would love to talk more if you're up to it. Scott@gaiadomesolutions.com
Awesome stuff, Made a year around green house out of hemp here in central Oregon. Was able to survive 20 below freezing pretty easily with just 1 heater. Plan on using geothermal and or sand battery for future builds. Would love to try a dome next. Love the stuff and it is the future no doubt. The fact it is fireproof as well is underrated especially in my area where fires are a yearly occurrence.
look into Earthship Biotecture you may get some ideas on water havesting, growing food., wastes control and off grid eletrical solutions. in any climate. 🕊🌍🕊
any house of that size can be put up in 2 or 3 days but it gets harder to divide, and do finishing work. I could not imagine what a curved kitchen counter and cabinets would cost to have made. aside from that its very nice.
Yes, the dome kit only takes a couple days, but then there is the hemp, the siding, the asphalt, the finishing, and the interior, as you pointed out. It is going to be epic though!
@@miggy9260 we can help of and when you may be ready. What part of Central Florida? We will be building ours in Chiefland, which is part of Levy County
I appreciate the feed back, I took their name into consideration when coming up with our name of Gaia Dome Solutions it is unique enough to not be confusing thus one of the reasons I added Solutions behind the name
I would love to live in a dome house myself, even building one would be interesting! A comment about the last couple of pictures in your video, though-I don't think those are called geodesic domes since they don't use a triangular grid pattern, but I think they may be called monolithic domes instead. They still look very cool, though.
First, yes my dome is not a geodesic dome it is a ribbed dome, my brain was misfiring! I've since corrected in other videos. Next we actually have a method to make a hemp dome look like a monolithic dome so even our wood framed units could have the same look and feel
I was excited to find your video because I've wanted to build a geodesic hemp dome for a long time. But what you're showing in the video is not geodesic??
Are you building your dome in Florida? If so would love to come and check it out in person. Woulld be willing to volunteer some labor to help out as well. I'm in Levy county.
Awesome and yes I'm am building in Florida and awesome enough it's in the same county. Right now I'm having the architect plans drawn then we will do the engineer drawing then the permitting, then finally the best fun begins! In the mean time I've been slowly prepping my land getting it ready, that is on going work and we are always active doing it
I want one I’m not looking to move back to Florida I an on Arkansas and have wanted a dome for years I even owned a dome tent it died twice now I’m looking for someplace for a dome that is more permanent
We can deliver and build anywhere so when you're ready we can help. Here is our site for more details www.gaiadomesolutions.com and here is my contact info scott@gaiadomesolutions.com
Never thought of ceramic but I have thought of also selling aircrete versions and I have since learned over time the hempcrete gets harder and harder (calcification) and as such one day will be tougher that any other structure I could put up. Longevity of mine should be around 300 years so either way I think I'm good!
Scott, I wanted to build a community center with a Hemp Dome structure to showcase sustainability within the community. Any guidance for cost and do we need a slab foundation?
Thanks for reaching out, I'll be happy to help, contact me on what's app if you use it at 8482481394 and we can discuss in greater detail the cost. In terms of foundations, that will largely depend on local code, But in general domes can be placed on concrete slabs, stilts, and large wooden decks. It will also depend on where you are located. Lastly, I have two options, I have a standard sized unit and a tiny unit. Contact me for more details. Thanks
@MountainFamilyTherapyAdventure we are currently having our site built hopefully it'll be up in a week or so, for now we have our domes listed on ebay, for an office we have a smaller dome check it out here, www.ebay.com/itm/145590196981?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=vwfu1V4NTee&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=rVIMiiyjSaq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Gotcha, the cost would vary slightly depending on things like if you changed or accepted the original pre-made architecture plans, it depends on if you order windows, doors, skylights and etc., it depends on factors like what siding you'll use, what insulation, hemp, wood wool, or something else, it also depends on if you build it yourself, have us help or hire your own contractors to do it. Sounds confusing I know, so connect with me at info@gaidomesolutions.com and we can continue the discussions there.
Awesome! There are all kinds on the market from concrete monolithic, aircrete, vinyl, wood, ceramic and now hemp is coming to market. I love them all but I'm going with hemp for a bunch of reasons!
Hipster doofuses crack me up . . . . And go to around 4 minutes or so if you don'w want to watch and listen to this goof drone on and on . . but simply want to see the structure
