@@lukeivey2464People are REALLY good at reading body language - when we notice someone’s more confident, there’s a million different things that we notice (whether we’re conscious of it or not)
Iron man had plenty going for him, he wasn't cool just because he turned his head differently. Not like that would have broken our suspension of disbelief anyway
This literally doesn't even apply to the head turn? They were having trouble making his head turn look cool not real. Did you even watch the video? I swear people just learn words and try to use them at anytime to sound knowledgeable
I would've believe that intro if the story were similar to that Pixar "Toy Story 2" incident. Where the whole movie got accidentally deleted and a single mom employee. Who works from home most of the time, managed to back up most of the film's work files on her personal HDD and managed to carefully give it to Pixar and copy most of the files they needed. Obviously she deserves that intro more.
It’s the opposite way an organic creature moves. You lead most movements with your head. Suddenly, by making him stiffly lead with his body, letting his head lag behind, it communicates that he’s fulfilled one task, and has begun a new directive, with full attention on you. It’s scary, and powerful.
If you’re wondering about the discord ping. It’s to get you to complain about the discord ping so that the video does better from “engagement”. If you want this to stop (along with other clickbaity things these channels do), there’s a neat button called “don’t recommend this channel” that you can click.
It’s the channel’s scheme to bait viewers to complain about that sound by commenting. Ironically, by complaining about it, viewers would only help this channel more 😂
The movement is so robotic it's cool that it also somehow made sense he turns like that. And it's not just to look cool but there's some practicality behind it that makes it look realistically cool.
Another animation tip, to make a character more appealing, is to have their eyes blink whenever they turn their head. A simple fix, and it makes such a huge difference. Or whenever you change from one big expression to another. Now for the master class, add a tilt down to the head during the blink to really sell the idea. You might think that this seems excessive for a simple concept. But fam, it makes the character so much more alive with these small details.

The look is very iconic he actually does something similar in the first film during his first fight against the terrorists on his maiden flight of the MK1
That’s the cool thing about using real suits like Darth Vader. He looked cool because he couldn’t move in all the ways you usually could because of the suit.
The canonical reason is that Tony learned from his mistakes by adding flexible movement into his armors after the Mark 3. The real reason is that someone animated him to move his helmet so it could look cool.
Exactly! If you can show an emotion without speaking, and more specifically without even being able to show a facial expression, you absolutely know what you’re doing!
What makes this really cool is the fact it goes against what we naturally do. When we look at someone, we instinctively turn our head and eyes first then body second. This guy broke that rule and made it look cool at the same time.
Its to actually make you look at discord while the video is playing in the back , in the hopes that you get distracted by discord and get their runtime up lol
Iron man is not really a villain. Thanos isn’t either. Thanos wants to do good, it’s just that their ways of doing good aren’t always good. Also, are you saying iron man isn’t a hero just because he’s rich?
Tony was a hero. He had done things wrong, but he always tried doing right. Think of it as doing the right thing the wrong way. Thanos wanted to recreate the universe because he saw all the evil in it,but his way of recreating it was just evil, and wielding all that power made him even more evil. In the end,it wasnt even about fixing the universe,it was about keeping himself the most powerful,a demigod. Both had good intentions but they had different ways if doing it
Pretty cool. The original 1987 Robocop had the same movement with the chest turning first followed by the head. Granted it wasn’t all the time and not because of motion capture but a really neat detail that presents power and confidence. The last comment about how “he doesn’t need to look at you, he’s gonna kick your ass” is so true for both Robocop and Iron man!
So he noticed super heroes have body language, thats one of the first things i noticed about iron man wouldve thought theyd thing about being professionals. Thank god this guy exists
